The rooms themselves are basic but they have everything you need. Dont expect luxury for the price they are charging. What really makes this place though is the pub underneath. Full of characters with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The hosts couldnt be more accommodating and I will be returning.

The rooms and facilities are basic but then again what do you expect for the price they are charging. Personally I wouldnt be taking the family due to a lack of luxury but if you are solo travelling and/or on business its perfect.

We stayed here when visiting Knebworth to watch Liam Gallagher so we literally checked In and went out, returning in the early hours after the gig. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. Good value for money and no hassle in respect of getting in and out in the middle of the night. Thank you Bird in Hand xxx

Nothing - except - when I booked I was asked if I would like to take advantage of free parking. I said yes. Upon arrival the car park was full due to Jubilee Celebrations in the pub. I parked on a local street and my car got bashed - thankfully the lady left her details. I would just say though if someone says they need parking you do need to make sure that you are able to offer it on the day x

Being Scottish I liked it was above a pub😁 it was a good location for food shops. The Indian restaurant attached to the pub was brilliant. It had lots of parking.

The Wi-Fi was not good .

Everything but the price. Worst issue was cleanliness but for the price, can't complain. Don't bring your Mrs here...

The Landlord was a lovely chap, and turned the heating on for us; very friendly and welcoming.

The room was cold when I arrived (although bad rain, cold and windy outside anyway)

The owner couldn’t have been nicer, he carried my bag up to the room and made sure I was settled. He hasn’t long taken over and apologised that it was a little dated. But in all honesty for the price I paid I couldn’t ask for more. It was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. Thank you.

My 3rd time staying here and will not be my last! Perfectly situated. Nice and friendly welcoming from all staff on arrival. The rooms are very clean and well sized with a comfy bed. Definitely worth every penny! Thank you!

The location was good and the bed were clean and comfortable. Only downside was that on the 2nd night of my stay they were hosting an event of some sort and I only just managed to squeeze my car into the car park.
