There have been some recent substantially differing reviews about this hotel on Google ranging from horrible to superb. I can only comment about my own experience. I only stayed one night on a business trip so did not have the chance to use all the facilities. My room (number 3) was large with a decent bathroom and it had been recently fully refurbished. The bed was enormous possibly a Super King. Weather was very hot but this was not a problem as the room had a powerful air conditioning unit. The reception staff were very helpful and polite plus there was plentiful parking space available. I had a reasonable evening meal at the hotel restaurant and the bar staff were very friendly.

No issues.

The room was a good size, I had myself and 2 boys,15 and 11, and we all had a bed each, plus room to move and put cases still. The breakfast was great as kids were free!! My boys loved it and can eat, set us up for the day as a good range of cold and hot food available and the staff were very accommodating. The reception staff were very good and helped me with an issue around checking out earlier and paying one night less too. Booking.com stated they would take 24 hours, but took 3 days to respond and didn't assist or resolve the issue.

The room was very spacious, the bed could of been a bit firmer as a suffer with back problems the room was clean and the breakfast was good, we used the swimming pool and spa which was lovely, the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us, they called taxi's for us and nothing was a problem, my family booked 5 rooms and we would all stay again, The location is good, and the hotel is situated in beautiful grounds and a 10 minute walk to the local village of Willian which has a lovely pub & post office.

The toilet was too close to the wall in the bathroom, the hotel is a bit dated however they are renovating it to the upmost standard i saw pictures of the sketches for the hotel's revamp and it will be beautiful when the renovations are completed.

Have stayed at Letchworth previously. Like the location very much, quieter but still very easy to get to other areas. We stay because we are visiting family in Hitchin.and it's only a few moments down the road. Also because it's a beautiful building in it's own right. We hope very much that when the building is re-furbished, that it doesn't lose its warmth and by becoming smarter, loses its personality. The staff have always been very helpful, efficient and again have a warmth of character.

Only that we had a king size duvet on a very large s/king bed and we needed a little larger duvet to cover the sides of the bed. We could have asked, but as we were staying only for a few nights, it didn't matter. If we stay longer next occasion, we will mention it. Otherwise, another very comfortable stay. I have to mention that it is an extra bonus in that the windows in the room have safety openings. A bonus to a person ( like me) who has asthma and prefers not to use the air conditioning, which created asthma symptoms. A good visit. Thank you.

Good breakfast. Clean room. Good size bed. Pleasant staff. Plenty of parking. Quiet location. Breakfast available from 7a.m. on a weekend. Good number of staff for the number of guests i.e. not kept waiting for long either at dinner or breakfast. Tea & coffee available in room. Shower good temperature and pressure. Use of the attached Nuffield gym/swimming pool a bonus.

No sockets available close to the bed in the room in which we stayed which is not helpful when you have medical aids for overnight to plug in - not sure if this is a feature of all rooms. Loads of sockets the opposite side of the room oddly. Only liquid soap in the bathroom. No complimentary shampoo/conditioner like other similar establishments.

The location was great with beautiful grounds. It was a little disappointing that they were refurbishing part of the hotel so we could not see the old parts of the hotel as expected. However they had photos of whst it will look like, which was very nice.The Bar and Restaurant were in a temporary area which was okay but it looked a little plain. However we had a great stay with a good sized room, comfy bed, friendly staff and great food. Would recommend ( once refurbished) to friends.

I don't remember being told about the hotel going through a refurbishment.

Pool easily accessible Pool was fab with sauna and steam room and great hair dryers! More casual bar for dining as well as formal restaurant meant a much more casual dinner with the children Great dinner Lovely staff Fantastic breakfast Great room

Sofa bed very uncomfortable- the springs could be felt in your back when you lay down Bar was very quiet during dinner but with sky news on the Tv with volume up and American elections on and flooding in Spain. Rather serious and upsetting. Would have been nice to have had music, ambient music or something more light hearted Poor communication re booking the pool. We didn’t know we had to book until we arrived but luckily there was space. The children loved it.

Breakfast choices etc excellent, staff were generally very friendly and bubbly in the Bar/ Restaurant. They were very attentive, although, Reception was more "run of the mill" appearing to be more standardised lip service and minimum social contact, but still pleasant enough. Evening meals were good quality as was breakfast. Bed was nice and comfortable - Enjoyable stay as a few of us were on a weekend course.

I wish that i had taken more advantage of the facilities such as Sauna/ Pool/ Gym, but was tired and rushed for time to meet with my party. So no reflection upon the hotel.

The staff were great, nothing was too much. Rita was excellent with our children at breakfast and was so kind. The room was large and comfortable. The gym and pool are great and everything you'll need. Waitrose is just down the road.

Pool swimming times for kids were quite restrictive at the Nuffield gym, there was no fridge in the room and food choices in the bar were a little limited. The kids' playground was broken which was a shame because it would have been a great addition.

Breakfast was very good. Size of rooms were decent sizes. Parking was good. Lovely staff.

on the fact sheet given on arrival, it states that the they WIFI is excellent however when trying to connect to WIFI it kept disconnecting and when rang was told to go out the room and try to connect again which also failed. Not ideal when kids want to connect to their devices such as a switch or laptop. WIFI had excellent connection in the breakfast area.
