This is an English pub with about 16 accommodation rooms. About 12 are small motel style built around a courtyard next to the pub. About 4 are above the pub. Some ground floor rooms are small with no wardrobe. It was unusually hot in England with temperatures reaching 30. My relative had a bright clean, ground floor room which had a large window, but no wardrobe or hanging space. My room upstairs was not good in very hot weather. It was larger with hanging space, but with had no aircon in any of the rooms and a very small window it was stifling. The staff were excellent. The pub had a wide ranging menu, but salads were off the menu during our stay.

Friendly, helpful staff, big room & bathroom! Shower was amazing! Quiet area and big pub garden. Lots of parking. Pub restaurant was nicely presented and super food. Good choice for gluten intolerance. Didn't hear much noise from neighbouring rooms and most on the ground floor. All in all a fantastic place to stay!! I recommended it to the course organisers and they are adding it to the list of accommodation to send out to students
Bit of confusion over whether breakfast was included, probably me. Because I'd booked through Booking.com it wasn't.

It exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. Our double room , bed, towels etc were all very clean and fresh. Liquid Soap, Shamoo and Conditoner were supplied, also a very well stocked drinks tray, always an added bonus. Bed was very comfortable we both slept well and it was very quiet considering its a lovely pub. We had a cooked breakfast which was excellent value for money. Plenty of it, very tasty, and very fresh and cooked and presented perfectly. We would definately stay there again if in the area. Lovely pub with lovely staff.
We were in No14. The only thing that would have been better for us personaly ( couple of oldies ) would be the bottom 2 steps and having to bend down to reach the handle to open the exterior door. However I doubt anything could be done to change that. It wouldt stop me staying in the same room again. It just means you are extra cautious

This place was perfect for me. Anywhere I can get out of the car and hear skylarks, and enjoy uninterrupted view of a fallow field full of poppies, birds and butterflies is good. Bathroom had a few flaws and will no doubt be done up soon, bedroom and bed perfect. Annoying green emergency light prevented room getting properly dark which is been looking forward to. LED lights are awful when used like this.
See above. Breakfast was a bit sketchy. Only fry ups and pancakes available, and staff seemed surprised to see us as we had not paid for inclusive breakfast. Tea was a disappointing half cup of hot water with tea bag left in. Little improvements would have made it much better.

Room - we requested a twin but were given a double, only a view of the roof unfortunately, this was noticed the next morning but not worth moving rooms. Lighting in room needs a mirror light for make up, etc. the shower tiles could be cleaned and the bottom of the shower doors. The radiator is too near the toilet as you could burn your arm on it - too hot. It needs a bedside shelf on the left of the bed. Breakfast - nice. I did think the drinks were a bit expensive £7+ for a 175ml of the cheapest wine. Dinner - was ample and tasty. Overall it is a very nice place and the staff were nice. I only mention the pointers above to assist them going forward.
please see above - as I put everything in there

The Green Man at Stanford was ideally situated for where we planned to visit on the Saturday. The double room (room 11) was very spacious and light. The bathroom was very clean and the size of a mini ballroom., with jacuzzi, shower and wash basin. We decided to have our evening meal in the really spacious dining room and we were not disappointed by the food and drinks served. We also had a light breakfast on Saturday morning. All staff were very helpful putting us at our ease. Would we return again? YES, if a future need arose.
Sadly the downside was on Saturday morning we couldn't have a bath or shower, as there was definitely NO HOT WATER. We had to make do with a strip wash in cold water. As there was only the chef on duty Saturday morning, there was no one available to make them aware of this. Whilst having breakfast, a telephone conversation we overheard between the chef and a possible client, it was mentioned it would be better phoning after 11a.m as no one was available to answer their query..

Chilled countryside stay with great vibes Had a lovely stay at The Green Man in Stanford — a proper pub-style hotel with a cool, relaxed vibe. The staff were brilliant: friendly, funny, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. We had some great laughs thanks to their banter. The rooms were super comfortable — just right for a short getaway. Plus, the surrounding countryside made for some really nice walks. Would definitely come back!
Make the dinners massive because the food is sooo good. Just joking nothing to not like here.

Everything was as expected.
I had trouble finding the pub at night. I drove around for at least half an hour unable to find it as there was nothing lit up to tell me where it was. I only found it in the end because 2 other cars drove into the car park and I happened to be at the cross roads at the time otherwise I wouldn’t have found it. You need to do something about this especially for people that don’t know the area. This would put me off staying there again which is a shame as it’s a lovely place.

The staff could not have been more accommodating, the pub was very homely and inviting. The food for dinner was great - very good for the prices charged. I had the fish and chips, which was genuinely nice. My wife had the ham, egg and chips - which also was good. Both had really good presentation, and good flavour. In terms of accomodation the room was nice and warm, and the bed was comfortable. They had everything that we needed, and they really went the extra mile to help us out. It was a basic stay, but a really good one, well priced, and exactly what we needed for one night.
It's hard to find fault really. Perhaps the rooms were a little dated in terms of decor, but they fitted with the age/style of building, feeling rustic and homely. Either way they were very clean and decent.

This was a great location for our family get together. Easy parking and separate rooms for each family. Family dinner in the evening and then a tasty breakfast in the morning. This was our 2nd stay here and the service was much better this time and we had a real cup of coffee at breakfast from the coffee machine (rather than filtered) which made a great start to the day. Good and friendly service from the manager
Some confusion at check in as we all have the same surname but booked through different channels with different quality rooms.
