Loved our bedroom (3) with its amazing high ceilings and wooden beams, stand-alone roll top bath in the bedroom and large, comfortable sleigh bed. Pub itself was full of character and charm, with welcoming, friendly and efficient staff, excellent selection of drinks including 2-4-1 cocktails 4-6pm most afternoons (excellent espresso martinis!) and sunny beer garden, plus free parking at the back of the pub. The pub was right in the heart of small but perfectly-formed classic English village, with interesting shops, about six other pubs (I can recommend the beer garden and pub quiz at the nearby Rose and Crown!) and historic church across the road.

Small WC tucked in the corner behind opaque glass in the bedroom didn't give much privacy though hence a 9/10 overall rating rather than 10/10 but it was fine as there are toilets downstairs in the pub.

The staff were so lovely and very helpful. Especially Alana and callum They were fab. The rooms are so well appointed for us ladies so we can do our hair mirrors and sockets points just in the right places. The place has alot of history and they gave made the rooms contemporary and stylish. They baths in the middle of the room and all the rooms have a character. We loved them. We stayed 2 nights. The breakfast was the best. The pub and gardens are great for drink I can't recommend staying here .

Great welcome by the lady at the front desk. She allowed me to check in early with no hassle or stress. The hotel was beautiful and a great location for a wedding locally. The room was really spacious and beautiful, decorated, clean, and welcoming, and breakfast was included in the price, so it was great value, with a lot of selection to choose from. Again, check out was smooth, quick, and easy. If I'm in the area again, no hesitation, I would stay again.

Only issue, and a minor one at that, a selection of teas were provided in the room, along with hot chocolate and biscuits, I just needed a coffee! But it wasn't available in the room.

I love visiting small villages that are near areas if interest if you wish to visit them. It gives more undivided attention to your companion and we have visited Welwyn twice now and plan in returning again in November.

Still not a fan of eating where dogs are allowed to sit up at tables with owners, and not on the floor. Maybe they are just customers that are local, and not guests at the Inn, and maybe the staff don't want to say anything, but it is why we choose to eat evening meals in the surrounding village as there are a few lovely restaurants.

The whole place was great from staff to atmosphere food We stayed 2 nights and this was the second room as we didnt book same room. All the rooms are fab with character and lits of extras in them. Very high quality cosmetics and bedding and towels Can't rate this place high enough and the rate is good. Alana and callum stood out they were great staff and worked hard to make you welcome. But all the staff were very nice. It's a great team.

The breakfast was great, all staff very helpful and very accomadating. Location is great, can leave the car in the car park and walk to local pubs and resturants.

On arrival the toliet was not clean, which I did report. The wardrobe space is only any good if your about 3 feet 6ins tall. The room is very small for two people and two suitcases. To sum up, the room is quaint, quirky and cute but not over practical for more than a short stay.

The Wellington (the boot not an old aeroplane!), is an old public house, central to the old partof Welwyn, with on-site parking at the rear of the pub. The staff are excellent, although breakfast staff are somewhat overwhelmed, trying to serve both residents and early visitors to the pub. Anything on the breakfast menu is included in the room price. Room are quirky but clean.

Laundry bags stacked in the narrow corridors one morning, blocking access to the room. A good choice at breakfast although the Full English includes really awful fatty streaky bacon. An olde worlde place with narrow access in places, so would not recommend for people with limited mobility.

Superb village setting just an hour from Central London. The Wellington had plenty of rustic charm and the staff were engaging and very attentive. The food was enticing and paired nicely with a range of wines to compliment

The ONLY dissapointment... coming from the North, was they didn't have any Black Pudding on the English breakfast. However, the quality of the fare was spot on!

The rooms are above a pub / restaurant. The room was very comfortable with lots of facilities (coffee/tea/water/hairdryer/shampoo/conditioner etc). It was very comfortable and the room was quirky. The breakfast was great and included in the price with plenty of choice.

I don’t know if it was just me but the bathroom fan was on all night which was very irritating, I couldn’t see an obvious way to turn it off so there was a humming all night!
