To stay at the Watersmeet Hotel has been on my bucket list for about 30 years and an occasion arose where we were able to stay for 1 night. It was wonderful. I am Coeliac & now dairy free and my dietary needs were attended to perfectly. There was plenty of choice on the dinner menu, although I stuck to something that should not include either gluten or dairy to be on the safe side. We sat in the comfortable lounge afterwards and gazed at the amazing sea view. Which we loved, because we actually lived up the road from the hotel until sadly we had to move to look after my parents, both with Alzheimer's disease. Our room was beautiful. There was plenty of tea & Coffee available. Breakfast, for me, was divine and there was a lovely selection but i had Avocado on toast with perfect poached eggs & a heritage tomato. Definately one to be tried at home. The facilities are really the amazing views, the panoramic seating and the pools although mine was a flying visit & I didn't have a costume with me. All in all a very special place. Although I have ticked my bucket list, I would not hesitate to book again. Thank you all.
I can't really write about what I didn't like, because I enjoyed our 1 night stay so much. It is a very old building situated on the edge of the sea, so there are quirks. Rattling in the wind that sound like people walking down the corridor, but our room was not really accessible from elsewhere, so it was the wind. Other than that, I didn't really find anything wrong, but then I don't really get the opportunity to stay in an hotel like Watersmeet Hotel.

Gorgeous room with windows on three sides (no.23); spectacular views to the rocks and tides below, massive comfy bed with pillows and cushions, bath to wallow in, high quality shampoos etc., very quiet room. Nice solid fire door. Good selection of teas. Lilked the grey decor - very tasteful and restful. Restaurant was lovely with views and menu was very good and good value. Food was hot and generous at supper and breakfast. Access to a variety of terraces and lawns was wonderful. Swimming pool, unheated, was absolutely glorious! THANK YOU!
The windows were a bit salt-sprayed but not a problem really. Hard to keep clean at that height. The blinds on side windows didn't exclude early morning light, so perhaps provide or offer cotton eyeshades.

Location, pleasant, and helpful staff. Dinning room and food. Nice selection of bath potions. Lovely sea view. We like the amalgamation of the bistro and restaurant menus.
Being told they had upgraded the room when we arrived, and as far as I could tell, it was exactly what I had booked. It would have been nice to be able to open the bottom windows. If you open the top, you have to get on a stool to close them. The shower was over the bath and whilst nice and powerful it could have done with a hand rail when getting out. The breakfast bread was a bit lack lustre, although this is common even in the better hotels.

great restaurant, large cofortable room with good ensuite. Very friendly and efficient staff. Nice location with fantastic sea views and up market area.
A grab handle in the shower would have been good as we are both elderly. There was an electric motor or extractor somewhere outside our window which was very noisy and almost constantly operating.

The views from the hotel are extraordinary: waves crashing on the shores, the most beautiful sunsets, surfers, cliffs. The food was delicious and service was excellent. We got a massage and Carol, the masseuse, was outstanding. The rooms with an ocean view were breathtaking, we left the windows open to hear the waves at night. The room, bed, and bathroom were the nicest we have seen in England. The grounds were beautiful and invited us to sit and watch the ocean. Truly a luxury hotel.
The pool and hot tub were OK, not especially "hot" more like a very warm tub with bubbles. The pool had nowhere to sit and only 2 tiny benches to place towels. No one was using it. The steam room however was delightful.

Hotel is situated on the coastline, my daughter and I had a magnificent view of the cliffs and bay, a view to cherish. Our room was everything we required. Breakfast was excellent and very enjoyable as the seating area again gave us a panoramic view. All the hotel staff were courteous efficient and very pleasant. If in the area again we would definitely stay there again and have already recommended it to family and friends.
There was nothing not to like. This hotel has it all.

The food (in the restaurant) is very nice and the view from the restaurant is also amazing. The hotel area is very quiet and away from high traffic. The rooms are super clean and the bathroom was very spacious and premium.
The beds were memory foam mattress, which were worn out a little. The lower grounds (pool and garden) do not have waiter services. You need to get up the stairs and find your way to the bar yourself.

Bedrooms inc en suite were very nice and spacious. Lay out of the bar and restaurant were well thought out and the views were incredible. The pools were both well planned in terms of location and accessibility. Breakfast was exceptional and dinners of high quality. Staff were both smily and helpful. Plenty of parking too. Highly recommended.
Not one thing.

The location was stunning, with fantastic views of the sea and rocks, particularly from the lounge and restaurant areas. The food was delicious and the service pretty good. The room was comfy and clean, and we were able to regulate the temperature via the air con/heater unit. Had an amazing Indian head massage in the spa - quite pricey, but worth it.
We didn't require a room with a sea view so we were in the sun pipe room; there were no windows and 'natural' light was via two ceiling sun lights (could be turned off and on, so assume it was a solar power light). As we spent little time in the room it wasn't a problem; however, the light was gloomy and I struggled to find a light strong enough to apply my make-up. As usual, there were no hooks anywhere for coats or dressing gowns, etc (strange how few hotels supply this small, but useful, facility) despite plenty of wall space to put a couple. Finally, we could hear other guests through the walls; it wasn't intrusive but we could hear bursts of laughter quite late at night. Some sound proofing of the walls could be considered.

The decor and fittings were the perfect blend of period and modern, the room was comfortable and spacious.
There was nothing I didn’t like. The price is steep however for what it is and the level of luxury, so that is the only thing I’d change.
