Room was spacious enough and the large bathroom had a very good walk-in shower. Staff and food were excellent.

The location of the site is on the A39 and anyone wishing to have a walk or run off-site has to take a traffic risk on a main road without a footpath. Although we understand and accept that dog owners aren’t going to be given the best rooms (albeit no complaint about the room), I would have thought the carpet would have been vacuumed at least once in a 5 night stay. After 3 nights, I had to pick up the dry cut grass etc brought in by us after walking the dog around the site in the mornings and evenings.

the room was a good size and the furniture was all very nice, the bathroom was large and the bath and shower were all in good order. the breakfast was very good plenty to choose from and all of the staff we came into contact with were very nice and helpful we used the restaurant a few times and it was very good It was lovely to be greeted by Amy every morning when we went for breakfast she was really great at suggesting places to visit and made the best coffee .

the outside seating at our cottage was going rusty and in need of replacement

The location is stunning. I drive past fairly regularly but never found myself visiting. I would return just for the restaurant now given the opportunity. Staying in the main house was incredible. We both love visiting period estates so having access to communal areas to soak in the art and beauty absolutely made us stay. It was never as simple as just walking to our room every time you noticed something different to appreciate. Staff were incredible, and travelling with a foodie that works within the industry. I’m always nervous about where I’ve chosen to eat, however the food and service thoroughly met his approval. This included his eggs Benedict in the morning which frankly is a huge achievement for him to say it was perfect!

It is so petty, but please rethink your steak knives. I’m going to spin this and say I’m fairly sure I heard one of the staff also comment on how poor they are so they clearly care about their role and the company.

We booked the grange for our 49th wedding anniversary, and had a cottage suite with breakfasts included. The cottage was fantastic, very clean, well equipped and a lovely comfortable bed. No complaints there. Breakfast menu was good, although considering the grange is rated 4 star, I felt that the choices were a bit lacking compared to other places we have stayed that were 4 star and even 3 star. The evening menu didn't have many choices, but was adequate. Not really up to a 4 star standard though . The service and staff were superb! A real asset to the grange! Very helpful, friendly and cannot be faulted. We took our jack russell with us and he was welcomed as were we. While at the grange I wandered around the grounds and did notice that quite a few of the lodges were in a poor state of repair, and some areas needed some tlc. It was an enjoyable stay, but I do think it's not really presenting as a 4 star, maybe once, but now more like a three star and still with 4 star prices. I would still recommend a stay here. As previously stated, the staff are excellent.

Amazing hotel in a stunning location, We were in room 3 on the ground floor. All the staff are very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble for them. Rooms are spacious and come with a small fridge which was stocked with a variety of items from white wine to water and snacks. Breakfast is served until 10 in the stunning restaurant and they have a great selection of hot items available alongside the fresh fruit, yogurts and breakfast cereal. We ate in the restaurant on our last night, Again great selection and I can highly recommend the burger! Will be back again soon!

2nd time staying here and like the quietness of it. Hotel staff are very helpful. And liked the fact that the dog could go wherever we were.

Found the room a bit tired. The curtains were ripped the carpet stained and annoying that you can’t have the curtains open without people being able to see in even though they tried to screen it off. Also I realise it was partly my fault for not messaging ahead but annoyed that they didn’t have an alternative to butter for breakfast. Thought a dairy free spread would have been on offer.

Polite, friendly and efficient young staff. Food in the popular restaurant was really good, and big portions! Good wine list if on the pricey side. Lovely large room (suite) and a comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom had a deep free standing bath as well as a modern shower. Bathrobes and towels were nice and soft, the heated towel rail kept the bathroom cosy.

We really enjoyed our one night stay, but while the Coach House restaurant is smart and very popular (rightly so) the hotel part, which is in a separate building, is looking just a bit tired. The door to our room had a very eccentric (and damaged) locking mechanism which took a bit of experimenting to master. Lovely to have a coffee pod machine .. except that it didn't work. (I have informed the hotel of this.) Generally not much in the way of toiletries, tea, coffee etc .. 1 tiny bottle of shower gel, 2 tea bags in a "luxury" suite?

Lovely hidden gem. We stayed in the kentisbury suite which was lovely, spacious with a fabulous bathroom and large free standing bath and shower perfect

Only a few housekeeping niggles- left towels wet on the floor rather than change them , didn’t top up toilet roll or products . There was no mini bar price list or restaurant menu in the room for ordering room service although these were quickly rectified when we called reception. The breakfast was ok but not exceptional and whilst our food was ok in the restaurant one night , two other couples complained as had long waits and cold food . I found the restaurant quite cold and ate with my coat on.

Well situated in beautiful gardens. We had Room 1 in the old building which was superb with a lovely bathroom Restaurant was generally good providing an excellent breakfast and pretty good dinner.

Duvet was the wrong size (too narrow) for the size of the bed Shower hand spray had a severe leak and the floor needed a mat as it became very slippery when wet (advised to hotel) Unable to ask for / reserve a particular table in the restaurant which hotel guests should be able to do. Occasionally the restaurant staff did not look round to see if a customer needed something - had to wave for attention

Beautiful property in the middle of nowhere so completely serene! Had an amazing stay here and was delighted to be upgraded to a luxury suite. Lovely room and was very happy. Huge thanks to the hotel for this as made my son and I’s trip truly memorable. Great breakfast and food. The staff are lovely as well. Very attentive. Looking forward to our next visit to one of the lodges! My son can’t wait for next Summer. Thank you so much!

The narrow roads to get there! Also cleaning could be better. We had a few beach trips and came back to sand from the prior day still in the bath and shower which sadly I had to clean out on my return from a long day sightseeing. Also hoovering on a daily basis as bits on the floor.
