The host is very friendly and very helpful. Our apartment was on the 2nd floor and she was kind enough to let us check in early. It is a very spacious apartment with a lovely kitchen, bathroom and lounge. The sea side at Lynton and Lynmouth is approximately 10 minutes drive from here, and there is plenty to do in a 30 minute radius. The Ilfracombe aquarium is also in the same radius as well as several other places to visit. The area has very little light pollution and on a clear night the view of the stars is spectacular. There is a very good telescope made available by the host for stargazing as well. The tv also had all the Freeview channels on it and if you are not out at night you can simply relax in the lounge with a book or a series. There is a communal lounge on the ground floor which looks stylish and is very comfortable. There are also lots of brochures and information available on the area and what to do. The self catering apartment we had allowed us to get up any time and move around freely and on our own time. The kitchen is well kitted out and all we need to get was the ingredients when we were not eating out. There is a steam railway a few minutes walk from the apartment as well. Unfortunately we could not make it as there was so much to see and do in the area. Take comfortable walking shoes as there is a lot of walking in the towns and villages. All in all a very good experience. Would recommend Moorlands to anyone.

There isn't anything I can complain about except the weather.

It was the perfect location for getting around this part of North Devon. The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. Couldn't do enough to help us and make us feel at home. Would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to get away to a peaceful, idyllic retreat.

Kids room felt slightly cramped otherwise all good.

A lovely rural getaway with a quiet, laid-back atmosphere. Very friendly hosts who make you feel very welcome. Lots of nice small touches, a communal lounge with winchester sofas, communal fridge and freedom to explore the extensive grounds. Highlight of the stay is breakfast where a great selection of options are served in a room with views of the rolling countryside.

Due to nature of area and water supply shower wasn’t very powerful and a bit noisy but it didn’t spoil our stay We needed to plan ahead for evening meals as nearest restaurants shut at 8/830…we arrived too late our first night but after that not an issue..and not the responsibility of host

Beautiful tranquil place. Very relaxing and so comfortable. The treat at the bottom of the garden is the Woody Bay Steam Train Station. What a lovely place to visit minutes from your room. Wow! The place was easy to find and close to Lynmouth and Lynton. Daisy is so friendly and welcoming. Perfect

Lovely welcome, very friendly and helpful. Hotel was great with lounge area, guest fridge and well kept gardens. Room very comfortable and clean, with hot drink facilities and fresh milk provided when requested. Woody Bay Steam train was accessible via a gate in the grounds which was fab and definitely worth a visit.

The family room was very comfortable and had everything we needed and more. The breakfast was superb with quality ingredients. The owners were super-friendly and engaging. Property is in a fantastic location. We stayed for four nights and had a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing time.

The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and all the facilities you need. Guests have the use of a shared large fridge with a freezer section that you can keep drinks and snacks in. Everywhere was immaculately clean.

The noise of the hot water heater/pump was very loud. The door couldn't be deadlocked at night.

It was really peaceful, clean and comfortable and the staff were really helpful and friendly. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay and was well-placed for visiting places of interest & walking in the stunning countryside. Loved our stay there.

The sunsets were stunning. The apartment was very clean and spacious. Views to the gardens were lovely. The hosts were extremely helpful both before and during our stay. They even let us use the telescope to star gaze. The setting is countryside views for miles plus a little woodland walk on site. Plus a small Railway station at the bottom of the garden! What more could you want. We would definitely stay again.

A very very minor point but a small welcome guide on how to use the oven and hob would have been useful. We worked it out and I’m sure if we needed to the hosts would have been more than happy to show us.
