The hotel is perfectly situated for hiking parts of the SW Coast Path. We did three great hikes from the doorstep and didn't use the car the whole time while we stayed here. There is a large choice of breakfast options and the delicious cooked breakfast is freshly made. Very sweet owners which give the stay just that bit of extra. We booked an additional dinner twice during out stay. We recommend it!
For us ....nothing. We had a great time. We saw in other reviews the stairs towards the hotel were mentioned as an issue. When you're able to climb regular stairs, there is no problem at all.

The setting, the view, the host, the cleanliness, the decor, the atmosphere, the breakfast, the comfortable beds. All made this the most perfect of places to stay, great value for money, a home from home set in an idyllic setting.
The only downside to this wonderful hotel would be access for people who struggle with the steps to the entrance. But this is pointed out by the owners. Other than that it is the perfect stay

Absolutely everything! The hotel is very peaceful and the owners Cathryn and Sarah are very warm and welcoming. The room had a fabulous view over the river to the sea and was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent and we also had an evening meal in their restaurant on site and this was exceptional. Sarah and Cathryn do everything themselves and so quality is always ensured They are extremely hardworking and deserve every success.

The hotel was homely and a little faded but very comfortable, although the bed was a little harder than we’re used to. Small details such as plenty of tea/coffee items available always were nice and the bedlinen was very good quality. The welcome was warm and Sarah, the owner, did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The meals were excellent, always hot, fresh and good portions and the flavours were amazing! Sarah is a great chef!
The en suites were adequate but a little tight for space and the bedroom had a king sized bed in one room and a four poster in the other, but both were a little tight for space….although we didn’t spend much time in the bedrooms as the lounge was comfortable to relax in.

The hotel is a beautiful old house up on the side of a hill. A little bit of a climb up to the front door from the car park but it's worth it. Everything inside the hotel is lovely, I really enjoyed the homely friendly atmosphere. The views from my room (King room with sea view) were excellent, I could never get tired of opening the blinds to see it. The view from the dining room was similar and made breakfast a joy. Breakfast was always well prepared and set you up for a full day exploring the bay and surrounding areas.
Nothing.

The welcome was fantastic, and the service from start to finish was fab. The breakfast both mornings was delicious and the views from the restaurant were amazing. Couldn't really ask for more. Would highly recommend.
The bed wasn't as comfortable as it could have been. Looked fab, but the mattress was slightly harder than we would have liked.

The breakfast was 5 star preordering the night before ensured you got what you ordered. Eggs done how we asked.
We did preorder the beef rib saying it was braised for 8hrs unfortunately this was quite fatty and needed a bit longer for the meat to fall off the bone. It tasted lovely and the vegetables were supreme.

Everthing was great, very comfortable bedroom, excellent breakfast and friendly hosts. The only negative was the tiny en-suite - for us manageable, but an "oversized" person would struggle! But we would definitely choose to stay here again if we revisit Lynmouth

Our second visit. Larger room this time (a suite). Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Everything we needed and more
Nothing much. Some loud music on two mornings at around 8am. Not sure where coming from but didn't really spoil the break as we were up anyway.

The food was of the very highest quality. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners. The view from the room amazing.
The access to the hotel was a climb up a steep ramp and there was no parking due to its location. However it is still worth it for the view from the lounge, dining room and bedroom
