We booked the grange for our 49th wedding anniversary, and had a cottage suite with breakfasts included. The cottage was fantastic, very clean, well equipped and a lovely comfortable bed. No complaints there. Breakfast menu was good, although considering the grange is rated 4 star, I felt that the choices were a bit lacking compared to other places we have stayed that were 4 star and even 3 star. The evening menu didn't have many choices, but was adequate. Not really up to a 4 star standard though . The service and staff were superb! A real asset to the grange! Very helpful, friendly and cannot be faulted. We took our jack russell with us and he was welcomed as were we. While at the grange I wandered around the grounds and did notice that quite a few of the lodges were in a poor state of repair, and some areas needed some tlc. It was an enjoyable stay, but I do think it's not really presenting as a 4 star, maybe once, but now more like a three star and still with 4 star prices. I would still recommend a stay here. As previously stated, the staff are excellent.

Amazing hotel in a stunning location, We were in room 3 on the ground floor. All the staff are very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble for them. Rooms are spacious and come with a small fridge which was stocked with a variety of items from white wine to water and snacks. Breakfast is served until 10 in the stunning restaurant and they have a great selection of hot items available alongside the fresh fruit, yogurts and breakfast cereal. We ate in the restaurant on our last night, Again great selection and I can highly recommend the burger! Will be back again soon!

Polite, friendly and efficient young staff. Food in the popular restaurant was really good, and big portions! Good wine list if on the pricey side. Lovely large room (suite) and a comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom had a deep free standing bath as well as a modern shower. Bathrobes and towels were nice and soft, the heated towel rail kept the bathroom cosy.

We really enjoyed our one night stay, but while the Coach House restaurant is smart and very popular (rightly so) the hotel part, which is in a separate building, is looking just a bit tired. The door to our room had a very eccentric (and damaged) locking mechanism which took a bit of experimenting to master. Lovely to have a coffee pod machine .. except that it didn't work. (I have informed the hotel of this.) Generally not much in the way of toiletries, tea, coffee etc .. 1 tiny bottle of shower gel, 2 tea bags in a "luxury" suite?

Lovely hidden gem. We stayed in the kentisbury suite which was lovely, spacious with a fabulous bathroom and large free standing bath and shower perfect

Only a few housekeeping niggles- left towels wet on the floor rather than change them , didn’t top up toilet roll or products . There was no mini bar price list or restaurant menu in the room for ordering room service although these were quickly rectified when we called reception. The breakfast was ok but not exceptional and whilst our food was ok in the restaurant one night , two other couples complained as had long waits and cold food . I found the restaurant quite cold and ate with my coat on.

Well situated in beautiful gardens. We had Room 1 in the old building which was superb with a lovely bathroom Restaurant was generally good providing an excellent breakfast and pretty good dinner.

Duvet was the wrong size (too narrow) for the size of the bed Shower hand spray had a severe leak and the floor needed a mat as it became very slippery when wet (advised to hotel) Unable to ask for / reserve a particular table in the restaurant which hotel guests should be able to do. Occasionally the restaurant staff did not look round to see if a customer needed something - had to wave for attention

Beautiful property in the middle of nowhere so completely serene! Had an amazing stay here and was delighted to be upgraded to a luxury suite. Lovely room and was very happy. Huge thanks to the hotel for this as made my son and I’s trip truly memorable. Great breakfast and food. The staff are lovely as well. Very attentive. Looking forward to our next visit to one of the lodges! My son can’t wait for next Summer. Thank you so much!

The narrow roads to get there! Also cleaning could be better. We had a few beach trips and came back to sand from the prior day still in the bath and shower which sadly I had to clean out on my return from a long day sightseeing. Also hoovering on a daily basis as bits on the floor.

We loved the hotel, the setting the lovely bedrooms and the peace and quiet. Breakfast was really good but a few points about breakfast, staff need to be aware of who is having what and clear away empty plates /cups before bringing another. Just small attention to details - plates to be hotter and food served straight away from the pass so it is hot when it arrives at the table.. We had a fabulous anniversary meal - just wish it had been served hotter.

no complaints apart from what I have mentioned. Attention to details a little more.

We booked the table for 6pm but we arrived a little later than expected so the staff where able to accommodate a 30mion change. The staff & food was a very high standard and came out hot& together for a booking of 6 people. The Staff kept on top of all the guests during the evening meal and we didn't feel rushed. Breakfast was a excellent choice of continental & cooked all fresh to order, again a good service and overall happy & helpful staff

The wifi was intermittent but not of any concern for the length of time we were there as all that we needed was very accessible

Dinner was excellent, couldn't have been better. The tables in the restaurant were well spaced out. Good choice on the menu and the food was cooked to perfection. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well cooked and a good choice on the menu to suit all four of us. The rooms were spacious, very comfortable and clean with everything we needed. Really spacious drawing room for us to sit and relax. Would definitely recommend it as the perfect break.

Breakfast service on second day the four of us were put on a small table and the service was not as good as previous day which was probably because we were the only ones there for breakfast that morning.

Breakfast was fabulous. When we decided to eat there on an evening also fabulous. Staff, you couldn't fault, always friendly and smiling. We love the garden rooms, very spacious and a fantastic shower! Bed is very comfy. The grounds are also very scenic. This was our second visit and I would recommend for a special occasion.

Nothing really. Only downside is nothing close by. As in a little shop or local pubs/restaurants. That's no fault of Kentisbury Grange.
