We booked the St Vincent Guest House only two days before visiting as a last-minute break for one night with my wife and our dog. We hadn't looked at other reviews, so we arrived with an open mind. We actually arrived early, but the hosts were very accommodating and made us tea/coffee while we waited a few minutes for the room to be ready. The garden out front is very pretty and dog-friendly, with a gated entrance and secure perimeter. The room was very nice with a four-poster bed. The mattress was very comfy, and the room was clean and welcoming with an en-suite. The hosts gave lots of advice about where to eat that evening and also advice on a walk that we were going to undertake. We ate at the local Crown Inn and returned to the St Vincent Guest House early as we were tired from the walk. We both slept extremely well and woke early. Breakfast was very good with choices of cereal, fruit compote, fresh juice, tea/coffee, etc., and a fully cooked breakfast catering for vegetarian/vegan, etc. They also asked if we wanted a sausage for the dog, which he was very pleased about. The hosts also talked about some of the history of the building, which was fascinating. I'd definitely return and have already recommended the place to friends and family.
There wasn't anything I didn't like during our stay. Everything was excellent, from the warm hospitality to the comfortable room and delicious breakfast.

Clive and Maria were amazing hosts and made me feel really welcome right from the outset. Walking the South West coast path I asked them where I might be able to get my laundry done; they very kindly washed and dried my clothes over-night. Such stars. The breakfast was amazing and the packed lunch even better. Thank-you so much.

Maria and Clive have put a lot of effort into the property over the last years to bring it all together beautifully Their attention to their guests is unsurpassed. In addition to their fabulous - and huge - breakfasts, they have recently started doing evening meals - head & shoulders above any other local eatery.
We didn’t like leaving!

This guesthouse is a gem. The rooms are cosy, comfortable and stylish. The house, the furniture, even the floors and the ceiling breathe the athmosphere of ancient navy battles. Breakfast is freshly cooked by Clive, and Maria will make sure that you get everything you need before you start your hike on the south-west coast path. Oh, en Lynton and Lynmouth are very pittoresque and definitely worth a visit or even a longer stay.

A lovely, characterful house in the centre of Lynton, with a pretty garden for guests use. We felt welcome as soon as we entered, Maria & Clive are superb hosts, friendly & helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Our room was beautiful, soft cosy bed, all the amenities - we couldn’t ve asked for more. Our veggie full English breakfast was delicious, as was the home made fruit compote to start. Excellent all round - we can’t wait to return!
Nothing - apart from the length of our stay. Next time, we’ll stay for more than 1 night!

The hosts were super welcoming and accommodating. As a solo traveller, the guest house felt really homely and was perfectly located to explore North Devon. Parking was easy enough - if nothing directly outside of the property, the car park across the street is free in the evening after 6pm through until 10am.
The 'en-suite' for the single occupancy room is currently across the hallway and not within the room (although I think there are plans for this to change!) It is only a few steps away and is only used by the single room, however would have preferred the bathroom in the room for ease.
