At first I thought I had made a mistake, because from a distance, it looks like an old run down motel. But a closer look and I saw that it had been totally renovated. It was a cute old style motel. The rooms were spotless, with new carpet and beds. The host was so sweet and welcoming! For a fourth of the price of the other motel we had stayed in! I felt at home.

Big room, comfortable beds. We had Deluxe Double Room which Booking.com says has two "full" beds, in fact it was two Queen beds. Nice shower and bathroom. Full kitchen and fridge. Parking right in front of the room. Good restaurants close by (Turkey Red), coffee places. Hatcher Pass 30 min away.

Bathroom fan was loud. Would have been nice to have a light source in the bathroom that did not turn on the fan so that the bathroom could be used quietly when others were still sleeping. Even a night light would have been good. Street outside pretty busy but calmed down at night.

Location was great. Close to the fairgrounds which was our purpose for the visit. Also close to multiple restaurants and other amenities. Its also a pet friendly hotel, and although I didn't travel with pets this time, its a good to know that would be an option.

I generally prefer to actually see someone on check in and check out, but I get how some people would like not needing that.. On the other hand, there's nothing stopping someone random from grabbing the envelope with my name on it and using the room..

The place was clean, simple and convenient equipped with little kitchen. We had quite lots of stuffs with us. It was so easy to move them from our car into our room on the first floor. The back drop of the motel was the white mountain peak which was amazing. There was a gas station near the motel. Staff was friendly, efficient. She offered us useful info when our tire had a problem. Highly recommended it.

An older motel that has been wonderfully updated. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a little small but well renovated. There was a small kitchen area that was perfect for light meals and snacks. The table space was only for 2 people but wasn't a problem for the 3 of us as we were only there overnight anyway. There was a parking space right outside the door of each room

Great motel a block off the highway. Spacious room with a kitchen sink. Clean and comfortable. Parking right outside the door. Located in town, near stores and attractions. Attentive manager. Very nice stay at a very nice place.

There is road noise.

This was a good no-frills motel. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The manager was very nice and she allowed a late check-out without any hassle. The location within Palmer was good - close to shops and restaurants.

We had expected there to be a stovetop because the word "kitchenette" was used in the description. It only has a microwave and refrigerator - all other places we've stayed at only mentioned kitchenette if they also had a stovetop. The description should be updated to remove that word as it can be misleading.

It was very clean and plenty of room. Nice comfortable bathroom. Lots of privacy since I was in an end unit.

Some things that I thought were included were not. No dishes, ice maker or washer in room like advertised. The light didn’t work in the kitchen.

We really appreciated that they had dog friendly rooms. Also, they had a nice green mostly fenced, picnic area the kids could run around in.

The only challenge was that it was very hot in the room and took a long time for the one fan to get the temperature cool enough. Alaska homes truly are made to keep in the heat.

The Pioneer Motel is a very clean, comfortable and accommodating establishment. Due to late arrival (after midnight) we had only limited involvement with the friendly staff, and just when we thought we couldn’t be more satisfied with our experience - our room provided everything we could have needed from bar soap to coffee to kitchen utensils. The reasonable rates are the least outstanding benefit this facility offers. This facility really is a jewel.
