WOW! The Casa Mariquita is a lovely property with a gorgeous Spanish-style exterior. Traditional curved clay tiles line the roof; windows and balconies have decorative ornate railings. When we stepped into the hotel's arched entrance, we were immediately reminded of classic Spanish architecture: painted ceramic tiles make up the floor and stair steps. Lush tropical foliage can be found planted on each level of the property, adding to the Spanish feel. A breeze was blowing throughout the property; perhaps the winding staircase helps to facilitate the movement of breezes. The view from the roof (see pic) is exceptional. Check-in was a dream. We arrived before noon and hoped to only have our luggage stored while we explored Avalon. We were grateful to be told that our rooms were already prepared for us, and we received our keys. There was no extra charge for this despite the check-in time being posted as 2:00 P.M. The property does not have an elevator, so we carried our luggage up the winding staircase to the third floor. Our rooms were #11 and #17, and both were comfortably appointed. Each room had an enormous queen bed (I'm an enormous queen, so I know what I'm talking about!) with an elaborate headboard/footboard combo. Our mattresses were supportive and comfortable, neither too firm nor too plush, and the bedding was snow white and clean. Most of the furniture was elaborate. In room #11, the carved-stone sink was set in a grandiose vanity with a large mirror mounted on the wall behind. The towels were stunningly white. A hair dryer was present. The bathtub had a square high-pressure rain shower head that delivered hot water practically instantly. The cabinet which held the large-screen TV was fancy and sturdy. The closet's sliding doors opened to reveal a dorm-size refrigerator. There was free coffee available in the lobby for breakfast before we explored Avalon.

There is absolutely nothing about the property or our stay that we did not like. It was, as Mary Poppins is quoted as saying, "practically perfect in every way."

Over all we had good experience. Room, shower, bathroom were clean. Water pressure was good too. Bed was okay, its pretty firm mattress which some people might not like it. And bed frame was squicking. Staff was super friendly, lady up front lets us leave our carryons in storage till we need to pick them up. Its so helpfull because check out at 11:00 am and our furry was leaving at 3:55pm...it was nice to not carry things around. Thank you !

Amazing view! The hotel is in a Spanish style with a lot of greenery. It is super close to all locations and not on any heights, just 1 minute from Vons. The room had everything: super comfy and clean bedding, slippers, bathrobes, an iron, shampoo, toothpaste, and a hairdryer. I was impressed, and the most important and adorable part: we got the room 2 hours prior to check-in. Amanda at the reception was super friendly and kind. Breakfast was good, and the coffee and hot water were useful. Bananas and apples were a nice bonus. They don’t serve tea, so take your own tea bags. The hotel is very quiet at night. It also has great windows, and our room had an ocean view and rooftops. There are cute little patios open to relax from 7 am to 7 pm. Absolutely adorable, highly recommend!

My family and I enjoy everything very clean. Very nice. We just love it. And customer Service you guys are the best starting with the front desk specially“MICHA”(gracias) Room service OMG those girls are a dream come true making my family and I very welcome and special. PD: I forgot my wallet in the room ! Just when I was about to get on my boat one of your employees call me and told me that she was going to be there in three minutes so she can give me my wallet . Oh my God I feel so thankful with her. You guys are lucky to have employees like them🥰

I loved how I wasn’t bothered too much. Loved that the staff didn’t bother us at all. We went during the off season so it was a little less busy than I expected it. Jennet at the front desk was amazing. Extended out check out and made sure the cleaners knew about that as well and not to bother us. They have a luggage room as well which definitely took the stress off my back of where to put my bags while I explored more and waited on my ferry to arrive. It was on the low maintenance side in terms of staff bothering us, which I found to be peaceful. Beach is literally a 3-5 minute walk. You’re right in the middle of town. Vons is a 3-5 minute walk as well. If you’re looking for a great place to sleep and grab a coffee from the lobby, this place is for you. The balcony views were amazing as well. Felt very European

I think the fact we went off season may be the reason why it was so relaxed. But the first night we didn’t get new towels, we had a few guys so they we went thru them very quick haha. But the moment I asked Jenner for some towels she got me some right away.

The front desk called us when the room was ready early and they stored our luggage until then.

The room smelled very musty. There was no DO NOT DISTURB tag/door knob sign for our door. The mini fridge freezer door was broken off. There were NO plugs/receptacles near the night tables for charging devices. There was no ice in the entire hotel nor at the front desk and no coffee or tea at the front desk. The front desk closed for the day at 2pm so we could not store our luggage. The freezer in the lobby did not have ice cream. We had to leave the hotel to get tea or coffee.

Location and staff were terrific! Very clean with accommodating housekeeping crew. Answered the call for anything we asked for and also extremely polite and courteous, i.e., while I was walking down the hall with my luggage a staffer immediately stopped and offered a hand to take up. They were just on it… luv, luv, Casa Marquita. I will definitely be back!

Clean and quiet room, very close to town and they let us check in before the usual check in time and store our bags after checking out. We didn't eat the free breakfast but the concierge did let us know that they provided a few items including oatmeal and pancakes and that it was available until 11am.

I was unable to find a working phone number to reach the property before arriving to ask a few minor questions. Also the mini fridge in the room was a bit loud, and the mattress could have been softer.

It was a great stay they have 4 floors. On floors 3 & 4 they have patios which have great views. Also anyone can access the patios regardless of which floor you stay on. Staff was very friendly and the plants throughout the hotel are so pretty! The hotel is near all amenities and near the ocean which means everything is walking distance. One more thing the restroom is SUPER CLEAN 10/10.

Somethings to keep in mind when booking is that there are no elevators and the hotel is slightly uphill definitely still doable but just a heads up. Also they no longer offer in room service so anything you need you can request. This is due to guest blaming service cleaning for missing items.

The property is lovely with Spanish architecture and plants everywhere giving it a cool and breezy atmosphere. It is only a short walk from anywhere in Avalon. The front office staff is always helpful and accommodating and they will store your bags if your ferry schedule doesn't align with check-in and check-out times. The rooms are decently spacious with comfy beds and hot water in the shower with the waterfall shower head.

The continental breakfast was either a granola bar or instant oatmeal. I few more options would have been nice.
