Love this property! If you're looking for a corporate, cookie-cutter, pristine place to stay, this is not it. This property is on Route 66 and, other than the rooms themselves, has stayed true to its heritage. The rooms are recently renovated and are extremely clean and well kept, albeit a little on the plain side. The property has lots of interesting and fun stuff scattered about which are reminiscent of Route 66's glory days. It's almost like a museum of sorts. The nice lady who checked us In (the owner, I think) was very courteous and welcoming. The price was more than fair and we would definitely stay her again!

The bed felt a little like a budget mattress but, even so, we didn't have a problem falling and staying asleep. I wish the rooms could have been a little more like the outside but not every place is like El Rancho in Gallup or The Blue Swallow in Tucumcari. I would have also LOVED if the fountain in the center of the property was operating but that would probably force them to need to raise the price.

A classic old Route 66 Hotel with a lot of character - a lot of old 1950's cars on site as props really ad to the character. Most of the rooms have been remodeled and are nice and the internet works well too but not long ago I remember staying here in one of the original round beds! Wonder if there are any left here

The original room they put me into had not been remodeled and was pretty dumpy but they immediately put me into one of the better rooms they have. And had a small issue with the TV picture not working on the last morning I was there.

For the price it was a clean, comfortable, and convenient room. It was extremely hot in Barstow so I appreciate the AC was on in the room when we arrived and the room stayed nice and cool. It may be a little loud during the night for light sleepers. The interiors are very simple but fairly new and has everything you need. The free wifi worked well.

Barstow itself and the area.

First I wanted to book motel 6 in Apple valley but by mistake I booke motel 66 in Barstew! So I had to drive 35 min more at the night in freeway to get there. But it was a very nice mistake! I never being a clean and very quiet hotels and motels like that🙂everything at my room was very clean and new and from 9:30 pm everybody is quiet at motel and people didnt make noise at all! For sure I will come back again. Thank you rout 66 motel in Barstew

It was too far from Apple Valley

I had to cut short a Sierra backpacking vacation due to intense rain and flooding. Hwy 395 was closed for a time, making it impossible for me to drive home same day. I found Route 66 Hotel while waiting for Hwy 395 to open. I arrived late, about 9 pm, and found an absolutely delightful property and room. My room had a tiny patio with a chair, and the entire property is vintage Americana. The rooms are renovated with comfortable beds, great pillows, even a desk area. There was a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. I though my room would be noisy due to it's immediate location along Main St, but I heard nothing at all. Staff was friendly, helpful, and kind.

A great value. This is an old motor hotel that's been refurbished. Nice clean rooms with current decor. The memorabilia around the grounds were a fun addition.

Since it is an original building, the rooms are small. The parking is sufficient but just enough. I was pulling a small trailer and found a corner to fit into. The location didn't feel dangerous but it's not near much of anything.

Route 66 Motel is the only real Route 66 scene feelings on the Route 66 in Barstow. There is nothing else to see on Route 66 in Barstow except some mural paintings.

TV's Captioning doesn't work and there was a dumpster bin standing next to old cars which dampen the feelings, it look so ugly for photographs. The dumpster need to move to somewhere else hidden from decoration.

The theme of the facility. There were old cars parked throughout the area to remind everyone of days gone by when Route 66 was the way so many people traveled. The room was spacious and came with so many extras that other hotels don't have.

The bathroom was tiny and one needed to engage in some acrobatics to get in and out the shower. The shower design is poor and should have a sliding door instead.

if you are looking for a one night stay in a clean motel on route 66 and love the idea of having route 66 theme in the room and outside to give you that kick feeling that this is the place to be.

all was ok, the room we got was big enough for two people, no road noise, so went well

We were stranded on the roadside in a hot rod going to a car show and were towed in. The owners did not bat an eye at a tow truck dropping us off, which was such a stress releaser. We had the part scheduled to come in the next morning, so we just settled and waited in a welcoming room, in a place where we felt safe and settled. There was a little store across the street that had anything we needed and a microwave in the room to heat it up. The fridge kept what we had in ice chests cold and the coffee pot was a lovely bonus the next morning. The motel has been carefully upgraded and was very clean. Pride of ownership shows very clearly! Nice flooring and fun touches gave the rooms a nice feel and as it was hot out, the AC unit was more than welcome. Somehow, they made the place authentic without being old. They kept the Route 66 flavor without sacrificing any amenities. Care was given to the outside and the Route 66 theme was done well, leaving room for parking and turn arounds. We feel we get cleaner rooms in a mom and pop and this one certainly offered it!

As I was guilty of it when we bought and remodeled our small motel, this is not a huge complaint, but owners forget to insulate between the room walls when they remodel. We could hear the man snoring next door. That said, we paid 3xs the price for the room at the car show and we could clearly hear the people next door in a BRAND NEW motel through the adjoining doors. The A/C worked very well and the room was a comfortable temperature. However, it clunked on and off keeping our sleep restless. When it was blowing (on) we could not hear next door's noise and it was a lovely soft white noise that allowed for good rest, it was just hard to continue resting with the constant clunking on and off.
