Words cannot express how wonderful our stay was! What a LOVELY place and a LOVELY host. Parking was reserved right in front of our studio and even though it's close to a busy street, you can't hear a thing. I slept like a baby - the bed was glorious. The bathrobes and slippers were an extra special touch, as was the coffee and tea. It was amazing having a full kitchen for such an unbeatable price! And Tony the host is a gem and available to advise you on the best things and restaurants in the area. The place was spotless with lots of attention to detail. And the outdoor space is quaint and super pretty. You can even walk to downtown Grass Valley and it's just 8 minutes to downtown Nevada City. I've stayed in several places in the area before and this was my favorite. Only thing I don't understand is why this place is only 2 stars! It's much nicer than some of the 3-star places I've stayed in. Highly recommend and will be coming back next summer.

The premise of the location is absolutely adorable. The hammock outside the king cottage was awesome to relax in because the weather was amazing. The overall atmosphere of the location is cute, and I really wish I had more time to enjoy everything at night. Self check in was easy and efficient. I really wish I could have stayed here longer than just 1 night. I never met the staff personally, but the communication over the phone was professional and kind. I stayed in the king cottage and it is definitely worth the money. Plenty of storage space, a couch and a relaxing lounge chair to sit in. There is a full sized refrigerator/freezer, a coffee machine, and a big sink.

We absolutely loved this place! The cottage we stayed in was super clean and cozy. It had a fully stocked kitchen, a comfy bed, 2 flat screen TVs with several streaming options included, robes and slippers, a Brita pitcher…..the list goes on… The grounds were lovely. Lots of places to gather with friends/family, lounge chairs and hammocks, a Koi pond, Japanese paper lanterns hanging from the trees (so pretty at night), well cared for plants and flowers all over, relaxing music playing and a very friendly Calico kitty hanging outside. Tony is absolutely wonderful! He gave us such a warm welcome and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We also were given 3 options for breakfast which he delivered to our door in the morning. He also offered to make us Lattes. :) I highly recommend staying at The Pines Inn and Cottages. We will definitely be coming back!

Excellent communication from the host. Host offered fire and egg nog on Christmas Eve, I asked if they had any non-alcohol egg nog since we couldn’t find any at the stores. Tony left us a special pitcher of egg nog and made our stay extra special. Very dog friendly. Large garden area with plenty of seating and even covered spaces to sit outside in the rain. Very clean room. Dishes available in the kitchen.

Beautiful room that had been recently renovated. The room was large with 2 windows looking out on the well-kept gardens and grounds. The bathroom was large and shower was great. We had self check-in upon arrival which was so easy and the owner made sure we were taken care of. Great experience.

The location and environment was very peaceful. I enjoyed that it was a separate cottage which allowed for privacy. All the facilities were updated comfortable and clean. Perfect place for dogs also! The manager was very responsive and offered plenty of things to do and places to eat in Grass Valley.

Was close to the highway. But didn’t notice any noise, was still very quiet.

Great clean rooms with fun retro boutique style to them. Right up the street from all the main shops of the Old Town Grass valley. Check in is unattended and is quite nice. If needed the manager is on site and reachable through a button at check-in. Great amenities and a recreational area.

That we had to leave after one night.

The extra touch, like the coy pond and little covered coffee and other bar (we enjoyed our morning in it). Tony was so nice and helpful. A nice walk to old town for dinner and morning coffee (coffee is also available in the rooms and outside in area mentioned above). All necessities of kitchen laid out. Shower head was fantastic.

Tony, the owner was extremely accommodating He made sure that we settled well into our unit and had everything we needed. We really appreciated his attention to detail.

The bathroom needed a lit magnifying mirror so women can put on make up and men can shave carefully.

We were greeted by James, he was very welcoming. He showed us to our cute cottage. And he showed us around the property. In the morning when we were going to check out, another very nice man wanted to make us some breakfast. We felt so welcomed at this location.

The walls are a bit thin, but everyone was quiet.
