Fine old (relatively nfor LA) building with some lovely artdeco details and great photos everywhere in the public spaces of the Golden Age of Hollywood. Charming and helpful staff at reception. Very convenient for visiting Paramount Studios - just yards away from its front entrance.

The bar downstairs is, as should be expected, extremely noisy late into the night - of consequence only if you happen to have a room facing onto the rear adjoining garden patio, but quite a nuisance if one arrives very tired and eager to sleep.

Great location, close to where we had to be every day (in West Hollywood) as well as to various museums and restaurants. The cafe in the same building is convenient for coffee and croissants, but right across the street there is also a real Mexican restaurant ("Mi casita Veracruz") where you can have great tamales for breakfast. The parking at $18/night is a pretty good deal.

The room was not ventilated — had to run the A/C all night, even though it was nice and cool outside. Also no ventilation in the bathroom.

This is a super cute and clean hotel! The staff went above and beyond! The cafe on the corner is lovely and the employees there were so sweet!

The location is great if you are planning on visiting Griffith Park. However, as a solo traveler I did not feel 100% comfortable walking in the area. (I felt super safe at the hotel, the area was just a little sketchy for my taste.)

We loved how friendly the reception staff were, in particular Michael and Betty. Both of these staff made us feel safe and had great advice on how to navigate the city as Australian tourists. The room, whilst small, had everything we needed for a week’s stay and the daily cleaning service meant a clean room to come back to each afternoon/night. The reception being open 24/7 made a huge difference for us in terms of feeling safe and knowing there was always someone on hand to assist us had an issue arose. Our LA experience involved the beginning and the unfolding of the incredibly devastating and scary fire events. We were able to constantly check in with Michael and Betty to ensure our safety and felt confident that we were receiving the most up to date information on the fires. We feel the enjoyment of our time in LA was reflective of the staff’s hospitality.

What a beautiful little Jewel loved this hotel. Absolutely adored the concierge. They were fantastic. Hosts got very personable with them. The restaurant was fabulous. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.!

Didn’t love the location. It was sort of on its own with very few places to walk to but the few places that were accessible were great!

Nice, historic hotel in Hollywood. Very close to Paramount and about 3 miles from the TCL Chinese theater and walk of fame. Easy Uber ride although we walked to the theater from the hotel. Room comfy, staff great. Wonderful pictures of the old Hollywood legends adorn the walls on every floor! Free parking in the rear of the hotel. And we got a fantastic price for the area.

Nothing.

We absolutely loved the restaurant/bar downstairs and the cool coffee shop (with amazing breakfast). Staff was amazing and the rooms were really clean. The property has an awesome atmosphere and was super close to Universal!

Going up the stairs with our stuff and back down was kind of exhausting especially after a full day at universal studios lol. Our tub was clogged - we didn’t know about “the basket in the drain” until we mentioned as we left. I think it would have been good to have a sign in place so people would know. Front desk didn’t mention anything about the property. And the window was hard to open because they are vintage.

Clean and simple room (I booked a King room). Everything worked as it should, there was a mini fridge in the room. The AC unit worked well. Micheal at the front desk was really great, he gave us some tips on things to do and see and overall was just a genuinely nice person. We tried the bakery he suggested and it was great.

It's an old-fashioned building so my only wish for these was there were outlets on both sides of the bed and the lamp with the USB plug-ins for charging phones and what not. I have a CPAP so having to unplug the lamp or alarm clock is a hassle. But this is a common issue with most older hotels.

Very helpful staff, clean and tidy, good value for money

The towels were so small, no wall sockets to charge phones or devices without unplugging another appliance and only on one side of room

My husband and I loved our stay in Hollywood Historic Hotel during our vacation (Dec.4 - Dec.7). We had a great time! Perfect location, 24 hrs front desk, perfect and safe parking in the hotel backyard. Hotel building is in a mansion style with beautifully decorated lobby and floors, great garden/patio restaurant. It was very nice to have a view on iconic Hollywood sign from our window. There was a fridge in our room and in addition, they have a microwave at the patio side/back door (that sometimes is very helpful). The rooms are nice and super clean with very comfortable beds and walk-in closet. But what is very special about this hotel - the hotel personnel. They value their guests and will make everything they can to ensure that the hotel guests feel welcome. All hotel staff is very nice and accommodating. Any requests or issues were addressed immediately. I had some problem with opening a room safe and mentioned about it to the Front desk administrator at 11 pm. The issue was resolved in 5 min (so, I didn't have to worry about it at all). In addition, I can't be grateful enough to Betsy (Front Desk administrator). My personal electronic device (that was very important to me) was found in my room after we left. Betsy did her best to help with shipping this to me as soon as possible. And I appreciate it a lot! I would stay in this hotel any time when I have a chance to come to LA. We had a great experience and I am going to recommend this hotel to all my friends and colleagues.

Nothing to say. Everything was perfect!
