We were honestly very hesitant to book this place because of the reviews, but didn’t have any other option on Saturday of Labor Day weekend and literally everything else was booked. Yes, the property is overall pretty dated. But the room itself was modern and comfy and clean and quiet and the whole place wound up really exceeding our expectations. We were originally given a room facing the road, but we asked the girl at the desk - who was friendly and helpful - and for free she upgraded us to a river side room with a balcony and a fireplace! We didn’t eat at the restaurant. And they did have a working hot tub and an indoor heated pool which was really nice but we didn’t use it. And if you’re a GenXer you will really get that fun early 90s vibe from the whole place. The foosball, ping pong and old school games in the arcade certainly help, even if only one was working. The best part by far is the back of the resort, where you not only have a beautiful river-fed pond filled with trout, but you also have bridges to a huge natural area behind the building that includes trails that wind through the forest between two different creeks. We had no idea any of it is back there and it is a serene, beautiful area. Only giving it an 8 because it is pretty dated and needs some love. But we had a great stay and would absolutely stay again.

Facility is dated and signs of wear are showing. But overall stay was great.

clean rooms, comfy beds, free kuerig machine for coffee in bed, beautiful backyard area with a pond and bridge that leads to the mountain for a hike. Delicious breakfast and dinner restaurant inside.

A bit outdated everywhere but the rooms and dining area. The hot tub was in the process of being fixed when we checked in so we couldn’t use it for our one night.

We checked in right at 3pm with no surprise fees! We've stayed other places that suddenly have to tack on fees because we booked through Booking.com. We traveled with our dog. Susan was great! She checked us in and was very knowledgeable and friendly. She let us know exactly how we could get out of the hotel to take the dog to do her business. The grounds are spectacular! A very lovely pond and a short trail into the forest. Plus the leaves were changing, so extra bonus! We were serving at a wedding at Deer Valley Ranch (by the Chalk Cliffs ~ Mt Princeton). It was a 40 minute drive to the venue, but considering how nice the hotel was, no big deal at all!

I can't think of a negative thing to say about our stay. Okay, maybe the slow elevator, but it's an aging building. Oh and no free breakfast. :-) But there is a restaurant that is open. My husband locked his key in the room and Susan quickly found help to let him in and retrieve it. So again, not much in the way of negative.

This place has had some recent investment, and it's nice to see. Would gladly stay again. It's not a new and modern hotel, but a piece of Colorado history. So glad it didn't fall into disrepair. Enjoy the personality of this place, it's a unique spot.

Just continue to improve upon the building and facilities. This hotel is older, but it's also historic.

My room was satisfactory, even more so because the room rate was fair. Hot tub, heated swimming pool, Indoor basketball were all plusses. The lodge is the closest place to stay near the ski area.

I was not happy with the lack of snow clearing in the parking area. One person I spoke with was very upset about that stating he would not return again. I do believe that needs to be improved. I have a four-wheel drive, got stuck and spent a half an hour digging out. I also helped push two other people out.

This was my second time to stay at MML, and it has been good both time. This time I was traveling with my grown son (his first trip to Colorado in the summer), and we had adjoining rooms. Worked out great!

A couple of the ice machines weren't working.

The property was extremely clean and close to Monarch Mountain. I like the simplicity of the room. It was very nice to be able to go eat dinner and breakfast at location. Carl did a fantastic job with the pizza and then in the morning our omelette we are very satisfied. The food was fresh.

The views were gorgeous!!! The windows opened so we could have the fresh mountain air right in our room. It was an amazing location

It was a little outdated. There wasn’t much staff around. We needed help checking out and no one ever actually came. There was a dead mouse floating in the pool.

Beautiful setting, colors were outstanding. Pretty views off balcony. Housekeeping showed me where ice was, only one floor had ice. Cook was very friendly and checked on me several times ( no waitress).

Limited staff, front desk gal was on personal phone and not helpful. Floor lamp did not work, coffee machine did not work until I moved it and cleaned out needle.

first off if you want a 5 star hotel this is not that. this location is rough 10,000ft and the winters are very harsh conditions so you would understand if the gold has worn. if you get my point. it is a very solid building very kind and helpful staff facilities are very hard to keep pristine. the pool is wonderful and the hot tubs you can’t adjust, but for the love of God just sit there relax and watch humming birds play. one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life.
