I liked the hardwood floor in the room. It was definitely cleaner than carpets. The beds were also comfortable. The room seemed to be well insulated for noise as I did not hear noise from neighboring rooms.

Check in time was 4pm which was later than most hotels. The office opened at 7:30am and there was "official" key return box outside the office. The room did not have a coffee machine. It took awhile for the hot water to arrive to the faucet during early morning and early afternoon. The hotel charged my credit card for an extra $6.72 for a beer that I did not consume, but they eventually reversed the charge.

The staff were very helpful, letting us move up the date of our stay. We had very bad weather camping and needed to move things around that day. Since they had the rooms available, they switched the nights of our reservation for us. The coffee was a very good local blend at breakfast. The indoor pool and outdoor tubs were nice to relax in. The pool was a nice temperature.

The bed wasn't as soft as I prefer, but if you like firmer it's great. There was not much protein at breakfast. The rooms open right into the parking lot, not down a hallway. Not a big deal for us, but I know some people have preferences for that.

Staff were easy to work with. I had concerns bc the office is closed overnight, but that worked out great. The motel is a little older but don't let that fool you, They are well kept and clean. A great value motel. I will stay again.

They only thing I didn't like, because it was different, was all keys deactivate at 10am checkout time and one must go to the office for re-keying. That process was actually a good thing in that you had an opportunity to interact with what I assume are the owner-operators.

The room was small, but clean and had been recently updated. Bed, sheets, pillows, towels were all very comfortable. Appreciated being dog friendly, had enough space to set up my dogs' kennel. Didn't eat breakfast, but looked good. Coffee was good. Outdoor hot tub was clean and enjoyable to use after skiing.

The heater unit in the room was pretty touchy, it was hard to maintain a comfortable temperature. It was either very hot and blowing right in our face in bed, or very cold.

The beds were comfortable Quiet Had everything we needed

There was sand or dirt on the floor. When we were barefoot and went to get in our beds, our Sandy feet got sand in our beds. It was gross. I’m thinking that whoever makes up the beds or cleans the room. wears their shoes from outside into the room which tracks in sand and dirt, and while they’re making up the beds it gets all in that space between the two beds. I’m thinking sweeping and mopping themselves out of the room at the very end of their cleaning so that they can’t track any dirt in for the guests would a good idea.

The location is darling, the staff is amazing and the rooms are comfortable. Plus love being so close to town.

I’ve stayed here several times and always love it! My only complaint this time was that the room I was in had the smallest shower I’ve ever been in - impossible to move around and definitely didn’t enjoy it. For 4 nights I’d have appreciated a better bathroom as I’ve always had in the past.

A great place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable, downtown was a 5 minute drive, skiing at Monarch was 30 minutes, the staff were great and then there was the wonderful pool + outdoor hot tubs ! It's so nice to have real humans running the front desk that one can talk with ! I highly recommend this place for Salida visits.

That I forgot my fly rod and mountain bike thinking it was winter down here. Liked it all

Though it’s an older property, they have modernized things everywhere they can. Beds were extremely comfortable, it was clean and just what we needed with the microwave and mini fridge. The lady at the front desk was very personable and provided excellent customer service! She even gave us a coffee maker to prepare an early morning cuppa since we needed to leave for a competition before breakfast hours. We didn’t have time to enjoy the fire pit or hot tubs but they looked like fun. It was also nice to have an adjoining room for grandparents…close but separate. One thing which could use attention was the windowsill in the bathroom. But would definitely recommend staying here! Thanks!

Aforementioned window sill in bathroom could use attention.

The staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and super comfy bed. Lovely view of the meadow and mountain, with a privacy fence outside the rooms so you can leave the blind up! Great pool, with soaker tub and two outdoor hot tubs. Good wifi. Nice and quiet. Coffee machine for the room given on request. Super dog friendly! (Mine weren't with me, but lots of other guests had them there).

Nothing really - I guess at a push, I'd say I prefer showers that can be detached from the wall and the bedside lamp had a bright white bulb, where I'd prefer a warmer, softer light for reading in bed.

One of the rare cases when the rooms look like photos on the website. Rooms are nice, clean, and bright. Shower amenities are great (conditioner is included, which is big plus). The rooms on the 2nd/3rd floor have a small deck outside of the rooms with tables & chairs and it's awesome.

AC/heater is the same as in 95% of other hotels - the big, loud, bulky thing by the window. An industry standard (unfortunately), but not my thing.
