We met Alicia and Erica staff. They were wonderful and very professional while treating us as returned "guest families". This has been my son and I yearly trip, and the staff & accommodations are great as usual. It will come as close to "home away from home" for any reasonable traveler's expectations. We love the comfort, cleanliness, good lighting of the place with all the kitchen needs and close to all the down town shopping and eateries. The hot tub is much appreciated and welcomed each year to keep it clean and running for tired legs after a day on the mountains. Some items have been updated in terms of beddings, furniture, and other room accessories. There is continued renovation that is important, but hopefully it doesn't change the "charm" we like too much:>) There was even bonus treats when we got there as well as when we left. I would highly recommend the place for all travelers - single, couples, family, etc when you are in the area. Easy & fast checkin + even easier checkout so we can quickly do what travelers do best - aka travel:>) Thank you.
Very minor but worth mentioning The cleaning products can get kind of stuffy in there but a quick air out of the room took care of it. The Wifi can be improved as 10-15 Mbps is more typical numbers to hit these days with high demand devices. At best, we would get 1-3 Mbps. We were still able to stream our Firestick with minor lags.

I liked the location. It was quiet, especially at night. Downtown is just 1/2 mile away and a pleasant walk on neighborhood streets. The western river walk is across the street and behind the ball fields. I also like that the motel is owned and operated by a local family. The staff was friendly, but not obtrusive. It felt more like staying with friends and family than in an impersonal hotel. The room was updated and clean. There were two windows in the room which were operable. The price was reasonable.
My queen room was a little small for a stay of 4 nights with my little dog.

We did not expect the kitchen. We could have stayed a week here. The room was huge for three adults with a full kitchen. Despite the town being very busy and active this place was quiet and restful. Many people had bicycles - this would be a great place to start a grand Salida adventure. The staff were very personable and helpful with lots of local knowledge.

The hotel was located right at the base of the Colorado Collegiate Range of mountains. There is a local hill with biking and hiking trails just down the street. White-water rafting and many city activities are available within minutes. The amenities inside the room made it feel more like staying at a family member's house. For example, the coffee provided was an actual container of grounds from a local coffee shop. The coffee cups themselves were small, decorative ceramic cups.
The A/C unit in the room was not placed in a good spot and didn't work very well. Since the temperature was in the 50s each morning during my stay, it turned out to feel better in the room to keep the windows open than use the in-room cooling unit. The bathroom was extremely small and had barely enough room to move around in.

Plenty enough space for 2 people and 2 medium sized dogs. Excellent bed components for restful and comfortable sleep. Easy strolling to downtown to meet up with family. Cheerful and competent staff. Clean rooms and property. Great local coffee grounds supplied in room! Super, well-maintained landscaping. 25 MPH speed limit on street out front, and side. Thanks!!

This is our second time staying at Woodland Motel. We love the location to the riverwalk center and the ability to borrow the townie bikes. We love how pet friendly they are since we always bring our dogs to go mountain biking with us. Alecia was fantastic making sure we had what we needed to get checked in. We will of course be back when Breckenridge trails are still snowy and muddy! See you soon!

The staff was able to accommodate our preferred room request and expedited our checkin. They are attentive to our needs and made our stay comfortable. We love the parking right next to our room. Overall the room was very clean and comfortable as we remembered it each year. The location is good too to be away from downtown noise but easy reach to most places.
Not really much - very minor items as below. These items could add up if left unmaintained over time as we would gladly like to return for our annual trip. -Molding on flooring was starting to come up. -Fridge door shelf was broken off so you couldn't store anything on that shelf (but we used the other shelving). -Extra paper products could be left in the cabinets. -Bathroom could be left a little cleaner (ie toilet). -Some slight smell when on initial entry. We aired this out and that seemed to help.

There were no other services at the Hotel, but I spent money in the town of Salida for clothes and coffee.
I would have liked to access the hot tub from my room's side of the complex. A cut-thru perhaps in the fence between buildings? As it is, I had to walk around the busy corner and into the parking area.

This place is AWESOME. Has a hot tub, beds and pillows are comfy, was super clean, showers come fully equipped, we had a full kitchen and giant fridge and parked directly outside of our door. Best place in Salida for the value. The staff were SO friendly and helpful and even gave us a dog bed for our pup
