The Island Resort was an excellent place to stay. The location was near all of the things that we wanted to visit. Most of the time we traveled to eat outside the resort (not because of the food; but we were traveling around and eat on the go). We did eat a mid afternoon lunch at the resort and it was excellent. The staff was "top-of-the-line" and very friendly and listened to what we had to say or ask. Our room was excellent; it face the gulf and had a beautiful view most each day (rained and cloudy a couple of days). The beach was one of the best that we had ever been on: very soft white sand which we learned was quartz. I would recommend this resort to others.
Not much to say about this. One of the thing was that the resort was working on some of the balconies and it was very noisey. Another things was having to pay to park at $15.00 per night which actually ended up being $19.00 per night after taxes were added.

Location good
As at a resort, you would think that they would have lounge chairs outside on the sand, so you didn’t have to rent them. That’s what Resort normally have the other thing. Was you advertise the pool and the bar pool but meanwhile it was being worked on I was really discouraged about that whole thing I was looking forward to that, and it wasn’t advertised that it was being reworked on a certain date. That’s very misleading and discouraging for people to come to a resort and find out that the pools are not working properly. You should let us know that the pools were closed whether or not to change our dates for another time.

The gulf view of the room was amazing. The fact that it overlooked the beach bar was nice too because we got to sit and watch people enjoying the music from the DJ right from our balcony. The volume was perfect, not too loud. The property is pretty big and sits right on the beach. We walked on the beach every morning and late at night in the moonlight. It felt like we had miles of beaches to ourselves. The room was a good size, very clean and quite comfortable.
We booked specifically because of the Grotto Bar, and it was closed for rehabbing during most of our stay. That was a bit disappointing. It did end up opening up the last day of our reservation, so we ended up extending our stay another night. Also, the first morning we were there they did not offer the breakfast buffet due to low capacity at the hotel, we were told. On subsequent days I believe it was available. We also requested to be moved from our room to a new one due to the fact that we could clearly hear every word being spoken in the room next to us that was connected by a door. We were surprised that would be the case in such a nice property. Our new room didn't have another connected by a door and it was nice and quiet.

Everything but the new shower heads in the rooms and the cost of the breakfast buffet.
The single rain shower head in the bathroom is a nice touch but there really needs to be an additional shower wand or something because you can’t get all the sand off in the “underneath” places with just the straight overhead shower. In years past 2018 and 2019 I always told people you didn’t need to leave the resort for any reason especially eating meals because it was just as good and cheaper than venturing out. When I inquired about the cost this year to eat breakfast I was floored at the $25 per person for breakfast. I literally door dashed breakfast for 1/3 or your cost and everyone knows door dashing is really expensive. Anyway, all in all it was a good stay.

We love the pool, especially if the ocean is rough. The music is perfect to lounge at the pool. The water is also freezing, which I love since we lay out in the sun for a while. The breakfast is very convenient so we don't have to leave as much going to eat out. I don't drink too much, but my husband enjoyed the access to the grotto to purchase some drinks. We also had a few issues, and needed eye drops and water. The gift shop at the front had necessities in case you forgot or needed a quick run for something. We love staying with the Island!
Just being picky. We liked our first room on the left side, this time it was on the right side. The ramp is a far walk, especially for us as we set up on the left side of the umbrellas. We end up walking a far distance, it would be better if there was a ramp to access the beach on the left side of the Island, we would just walk straight to the beach like on the left side. The bar by the beach had a roof replacement which blocked off the stairs and access to the beach so you had to use the ramp. We also noticed the sheets were not changed, just rotated around when made. We had 2 queen beds, so we just swapped beds to keep the "cleaning" to a minimum. I usually leave a tip for the staff, but sweeping is the only thing I know for sure they cleaned.

The best resort my family and I have stayed. From the time we arrived, we were blown away. The cleanliness and topnotch service of the resort and its staff is a 10. The bartenders you must go see and chill with all of them. Even the security good stood out to us. He was around everywhere like a magician. I really felt safe with my family seeing he was on the job. The housekeeping staff was so sweet and made sure our stay was clean. The entire staff deserves a big hand clap for providing excellent quality service. I will recommend this resort to others and will be back. Thank you from the Woods family. We will be back again..
The bartenders all of them made my stay. Lol

We stayed in the beach house. The hotel was very clean and the staff were extremely nice and helpful. We loved being able to wake up and see the ocean from our window/balcony. It was also nice having a short walk to the beach. The hotel has so many offered activities and entertainment for adults and kids, so that was a nice suprise. We ate at the hotel a couple of times and both times the food was really good, but if you wanted something different their are plenty of places to eat within walking distance from the hotel. We really loved the fact that the hotel also offers multiple pools, including one heated, which was so nice. They also never got to overcrowded. We will definitely be coming back!

Location and beach access. Beautiful views. Restaurant food was delicious.
Getting woke up every morning at 9 am to pounding and drilling. They were remodeling and neglected to let us know before booking and did not say a word about it when we checked in. It was so loud we finally called front desk and they just said sorry.

The property was nice. Loved that it was on the beach and almost all you really needed was within walking distance.
Literally everything came with an extra charge. We booked this property because we felt like we got a good rate but really we could’ve spent more on a booking elsewhere that had things like breakfast, umbrella and chairs, etc included and probably spent less money. The facilities were nice but the shower had low pressure. I wish the “kids” pool area was a little better. Just a square with water shooting up on each corner that took up the whole pool. There wasn’t much space a kid could get out of that spray radius.

Right on the beach. Good pools and decent bars.
The restaurant food was terrible. I sent my chicken parmesan back and saw two ther tables do the same. My friend ordered a seafood scampi with risotto and it was swimming in liquid and the risotto was crunchy. We told the server and they removed my food charge but left hers. He then brought my friend a piece of tiramisu for free and she bit into a chunk of black plastic. We told the server everything and we still left with a bill over $100. We didn’t eat on property the rest of the time we stayed. And you need more shade by the pools.
