Location and views were great. Though the cruise lines docking there would be a downside but actually was kind of neat seeing them come in and go and were always gone by sunset.

Housekeeping and Front desk and pool attendant service was great and positive experience but were some of Pool Bartenders were not that pleasant to deal with.

The ladies at the front desk at check-in were so welcoming. Our marina-view location was beautiful. It was nice to be able to see the water, boats, and the activity along the marina. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. The cleaning crew was accommodating and friendly. The location was just perfect. We walked everywhere! Lolita's had just re-opened after a renovation and the customer service was superb! The food was delicious, too. We ate breakfast there every morning because it was so good. The outside patio was great and the inside was comfortable and festive.

The room was kind of pricey, probably due to location of the property and the fact that Key West is pretty expensive overall.

Sunset Key was Awesome!!! We highly recommend staying in the cottages! Amazing stay!! We were booked for the Opal Resort but they couldn’t get us near each other since we had different room types. They Recommended that we take Our group over to Sunset Key. I was apprehensive and concerned about the inconvenience of dealing with the ferry. The manager said don’t worry you are going To love it just trust Me….. Well she was right! It was Amazing!! Once you get used to the ferry it’s no big deal. This is the best experience ever! Private cottages that slept the 6 Of us. Every morning they dropped off a basket of goodies just as a surprise and delight gift! It was fantastic! Muffins, orange juice, liquid shots of healthy beverages… it was something different every morning! The restaurant Latitudes was incredible. All the excursions were conveniently located one little ferry ride away. Such an amazing stay! My family LOVED it and can’t wait to come back!

The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable, very clean. I’d liked the pool area. It would’ve been nicer to have more food choices close to the pool. Lomita‘s was the only restaurant there with a very limited menu. It was a nice little restaurant though. It was convenient to take the ferry behind the hotel to latitudes on the private island. Everything was very close in proximity for walking. Excellent location.

I found it a bit pricey, but everything in Key West is pricey. Although I really enjoyed the pool area, it is not huge and it was very crowded. It would be nice to have changing rooms near the pool, instead it is a bathroom for a single person.

The Opal Key Resort & Marina is very convenient located and very quiet. You will not have any problems to park your car. The staff is super friendly and helpful! We were very happy to stay there and will certainly come back once we are again in Key West. There is some construction going on at the resort but to be honest, it did not affect us at all!! Place will probably be even better once everything is finished. We were divers and it took us literally a 5 minutes walk to the Marina where we had to Check-In for diving the USS Vandenberg. Thanks again for your kindness and service!

Our room overlooked the marina. We loved all of the crazy night life up town, but we are over 45 so when we are done....We are done. This location was walking distance to everything. We put 15K-20K steps in a day (BONUS). We liked how we could go enter the crazy loud and fun bars and restaurants, and escape it so quickly. Even though the action was only a block away, once we reached the resort, we were in such a quiet peaceful place. We loved it. We loved the complimentary water at each entrance. Such a small but meaningful thing. I loved that you allow dogs! I didn't bring mine, but hearing a few barks and seeing them around made me smile. I knew I would only get one shot at getting my boyfriend down to the Keys. I love it, but he never wanted to go. I looked up the best hotel for location and overall stay, and the Opal came up repeatedly. NOW....My boyfriend is already planning our next trip with his kids and told me, he can never stay anywhere else because this trip spoiled him. THANK YOU!

I did not love some of the distressed parts of the paint in some locations outside and inside. I imagine with the humidity, this is a hard thing to manage. But I had to dig deep to even mention this because I loved it so much.....I didnt think too much about it.

Location, friendly and helpful staff. Room amenities a plus. Very comfortable pool atmosphere. Availability of hydration at various locations on the premises was super helpful at staying hydrated.

Pool events insert at check in said non alcoholic beverage samples, never served. Popsicles, only on one of the days. Frozen towel, never got one. Never saw frozen grapes served either. We were poolside most days from 12-1 PM till 2-4 PM. . Two bad meals, one very chewy, inedible steak dinner. (Was not charged for it) and one breakfast pancake meal that was only cooked on one side, uncooked batter on the other side.

The price was a lot it should have included a little more like complimentary breakfast.

Rooms were spacious, property and rooms were clean, staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Excellent location! They did a soft opening of the new Lolita restaurant and the food was fantastic.

Due to construction, the Deck above the restaurant was not available to use. I believe it will be finished by the end of June. Just timing of our vacation so it was not a big dissatisfier. The newly renovated deck space will be beautiful with Sunset views of Key West.

We got an Accessible Room on the ground floor. It was nice and spacious with comfy beds and good amenities. Location of property is great and nearby paid parking also convenient - with direct access to the adjacent hotel building where the main reception is located. We checked in and proceeded to our building next door - the one surrounding the pool. Everything with regards to entertainment is walking distance and all around the area. >>> [The much talked-about resort fee was fine with us provided you make use of the things it encompasses - which we did. Perhaps it could be part of the rate (?)]

Perhaps the dining possibilities could be a bit more for those not so mobile, but not much of an issue because there's plenty of choices in the area and not many ppl stay in, anyway. I was also a bit disappointed by the stale smell of our room. Then again, it's quite humid everywhere down there in the Keys and perhaps that's about the standard one can get - especially on the ground level, though I must say that at another property in Key Largo (ground floor too, almost on the water), it was just fine.
