Location was amazing. Wildlife all around easily seen from your room. The accommodations are very nice our room had a view of the water. We had a balcony with two chairs were we sat and enjoyed the breeze and the view. It was very quiet and family friendly. The AC worked wonderfully, there was a portable dehumidifier in the room that required empyting twice in 12 hours- but we didnt mind doing it since it kept the room more comfortable.

The building we stayed in is massive. There is only one elevator. We walked a good distance to get to our room so if you have mobility issues ask to be close to the elevator or on the first floor. The room numbers are a little confusing but the check in clerk can help you with that- when you receive your room key the number is written on the card sleeve holder- it will be 4 numbers - your room number will actually be the last 3 numbers listed. That was not part of our check in instructions initially- but definitely important information.

The room, building, location are top-notch. We chose it for a restful last night in SSI and it didn’t disappoint as we sat on the balcony and watched herons and dolphins just 100’ from us.

The icy reception when checking in, not a smile or welcoming chit-chat that we are accustomed to during our month-long stays each year on the island. Our room was on the 3rd floor, but the number begain with 2, and the woman at the desk never bothered to mention it. (Fortunately, there were only 3 floors, so we figured it out after not being able to find it on the 2nd floor.) We’d like it better, too, if the bike paths extended to the facility.

Location and the view awesome

Bed was small, was supposed to be 2 queen beds. Bed was not comfortable, seemed a little stiff. No amenities for guest. No coffee maker in the room. And the coffee machine in the common area was out, only had decaf coffee. Booking kind of misrepresented the resort. Didn't really disclose it was a religious facility, (which i absolutely had no problem with)

Nice and clean. Staff was very cordial and helpful. We were in the turner building. It had a really nice view of the river and the dock right off then balcony. After we had dinner at a nearby restaurant we enjoyed the sunset and had a good nights sleep. We went to check out and our car battery had died. We called the front desk for help and within 5 minutes security came and helped us out. They didn’t act like it was a hassle. It’s things like this that make me want to return to this quiet, peaceful place to stay. I’d have no problem recommending them.

Not much. Itis a bit confusing where to go for the rooms as it’s a large complex. But the people there are so helpful they took the time to help.

It was so peaceful. I loved the location. I loved being right on the water and the balcony. I did not know it was a Christian retreat but that made it all the more special and the grounds were beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. The staff was also very friends.

There wasn’t anything I did not like about the property.

Epworth By the Sea is a beautiful place. Clean comfy room, great Wi-Fi, and nice balcony. The grounds are well maintained, and the views are amazing. This is a great place to relax, unwind, and have a tranquil experience. Beautiful live oaks, gardens/green spaces, water views, and gorgeous sunsets. Short drive to restaurants, shops, pier, lighthouse, and beaches.

The pool wasn't open yet. No kitchenette, but has a mini-fridge and microwave.

Very few guests because of the cold weather that weekend,so it was very quiet. The views from the balcony were gorgeous.

I would have liked a place on the grounds that served a light breakfast. We had to drive into town to get our morning coffee.

The view was absolutely beautiful. The room was very clean and cozy. The bed slept well and was very welcoming to a tired body. We were very happy with our room and all the space we had to put our things.

The only complaint we really had was the shower. The water pressure was very low and it felt like it took forever to rinse off. Other than that we cant think of a thing wrong.

The property was so beautiful. The room was laid out well and comfortable. We could see the water and wildlife from our balcony.

Most people go here for church conferences of some sort. We weren’t a part of that but we were still able to enjoy a peaceful view and rest where they roomed us.

This was our 2nd stay at Epworth. We travel to the Golden Isles regularly and have stayed at several area hotels. Epworth is definitely a new favorite. The view from our balcony was so beautiful and the grounds so peaceful that we spent most of our first day just hanging out in our room instead of on the beach.

The only thing I would improve on is the bedding. The beds and pillows are comfortable, but the cover is literally just a sheet and a slightly thicker sheet. I knew this from our first visit so I brought a comforter from home and it was perfect. So if you are used to a sleeping with a blanket or comforter bring one with you!
