Loved the historic architecture of the resort, pool area had many nooks to sit in, fantastic views from room, pool, dining room, everywhere! The staff was excellent.

Resort and rooms really need refurbishing. For the price I paid for the room, the ottoman had a broken leg (and was repaired a few times with gorilla glue), there were band aids taped to the internet sensor to block the light in the room, a light bulb was out, the dark wood stain on the bed frame wasn't finished around a few areas so the plywood construction stood out. The wood front door has some dings. The sink is set back really far on the countertop in the bathroom which is an odd location. The housekeeping staff did a great job, but the resort definitely needs handyman staff to fix up the broken and odd things in the room to match the price for the room.

The location was great! Beautiful beach front location. Short walk to restaurants /shops. The front desk staff were very pleasant and welcoming.

The hotel was pretty run down. More than I would expect at this price point. Dead flowers on the bar area tables, outside by the pool, and at the entry way were not appealing. The giant Christmas tree, however, is gorgeous! Carpets/rugs, elevators were very worn. Food all over the chairs in the restaurant at several tables. Spa looked very dirty so didn’t use it, and used water bottles and napkins scattered around the pool area. It just didn’t have the cleanliness and polish I would expect of a high end hotel.

Oceanfront location above all; lush landscape; "historic" area of resort was lovely; cleanliness of pool area- lots of umbrellas around pool especially facing ocean- loved that; enjoyed the kurig-style coffee maker; 2 free water bottles a day was great; ECHO food was above average for a hotel resort-the coffee shop and poolside snack bar were convenient and we used them daily.

somewhat dated room- could tell decor changes had been made but furniture looked older and bathroom small & dated- the "vanity" area was dated (altho did provided additional space to put things)( perhaps fridge microwave should be in that area along with coffee maker- bed was good not great.

Location is fabulous for walking the beach. The poolside bar was accommodating and convenient. The main bar Staff was absolutely outstanding. We had a maintenance request with the tub drain that was effectively and efficiently resolved. Liked our room overlooking the pool and would stay there again.

Pillows were poor at best! We asked the front desk for additional pillows and nothing happened. The front desk checkout was slow and I was very disappointed in the billing process—Booking gets paid separately from on site charges—results in multiple sources of receipts. Also poorly explained is Booking or the Resort offers a 10% discount for over 60 guests…the front desk indicated that it is only available when booking directly and not with Booking…the why the hell wod we use two different or discreet entities to use the same room—ridiculous at best…deceitful at worst!

The property was very beautiful and very clean. The location was easy to get into the town and other places. Their restaurant ECHO was very popular. This is the only hotel resort on the beach. Loved the story of it.

The only thing that I was disappointed in was the house cleaning service. They do not make the beds daily nor do they charge the sheets on the 4th day of the stay. You have to ask the maids to leave the water bottles for you and empty the trash. They did change the towels daily.

Myra at the front desk was extremely helpful! She went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was complete! Steve also makes the BEST cocktails! The staff was courteous and friendly! Loved the breakfast each day and the scallops were great!

We changed rooms from the Oglethorpe House to a King suite ( thanks to Myra). The ceiling fan in the room did not work and the air conditioning unit was very loud. The king suite could also use some work on the ceiling fan (loud).

the pool area is excellent, the hotel is clean, some areas they have updated but still seems to have old feel.

we booked a resort view and was put in a room that overlooked the air conditioning units with a fence outside the main window. The window view from the bathroom was a little better, but looked at a brick wall and part of a roof. I felt that I was in jail the whole time I was in the room. Stay away from room 243 in the Historic building. I am very leery about booking a room with a resort view now. I feel that we paid resort prices for a low rent room.

The room was spacious and the staff were very nice. The location on the beach and not far from the main centers of interest were very appreciable.

It was not possible to pay for a late checkout at 14:00 even if the hotel was far from full. The shower in the bathroom did not have a nice spray and enough pressure.

The room was much larger than expected as was the tub. We also had a beautiful view of sunrise from the room and walking to dinner was nice. After-dinner cocktails were delicious and our bartender was very knowledgeable; he even performed incredible magic for us at the bar.

Would've been nice to have a microwave to reheat leftovers from The Crab Trap.

The rooms are very quiet with little to no noise from neighboring rooms. The hotels pools were well maintained and a nice treat. The beach was not overly crowded. The rooms were cleaned each day. We really enjoyed being right on the beach.

The restaurant in the hotel was overpriced and did not have options that we enjoyed. A shuttle to tourist areas would have been a nice touch. Everything is close, but it's a lot of walking. There was an internet booster in the room that glowed blue all night long.
