Location, breakfast, rooms.

The fire alarm went off about 4 am. Guests made their way downstairs and out of the hotel. There was one fire truck and three firemen. There appeared to be only one hotel staff person on duty and he did not interact with the guests at all. There was a lot of confusion and we were provided no information about if and when we could return to our rooms. As we stood outside the main entrance and the firemen were leaving, one said that we could go back in, but didn’t say if we could go to our rooms. The hotel staff person was focused on a computer and had to be asked if we could go back into to our rooms. He said “ oh yea, sorry’. A short explanation about what set off the alarm and told we could return to our rooms, would have been helpful.

The breakfast wasn't the best. Over salty eggs, burnt biscuits, and the pancakes weren't great either. The muffins and cinnamon rolls were good.

Too many children running up and down the halls and stairs. Complained about it and was told to call the front desk when they were running around. Even though the front desk could not only hear it but see it on the camera monitors that were right at the front desk. Pretty sure the room above us had a heard of elephants in it. Managed to get about 2 hours of sleep while there.

Pretty much everything. Great breakfast with longer breakfast hours, exceptionally clean, no outside noise, very calm environment. My grandchildren enjoyed the pool.

WiFi connectivity was very easy at the outset, but it was hard to connect in the morning on the next 3 days. We always were able to connect - but not first thing in the morning. However the staff was very helpful.

Staff was able to check us in early. Our room including bathroom was clean and spacious. Very quiet at night. The air conditioner/heat ran good and you could run the fan on all night long. Very comfortable beds.

The breakfast food was blah. It’s the typical free breakfast you get in a hotel.

Breakfast very good. just not as wild about the precooked egg omelets, but not sure how you could improve that.

when I searched for Holiday Inn Express, Ankeny, IA, google maps routed me to the old location (?) on the East side of interstate, so had to plug in address off of my reservation.

First of all, staff was outstanding; very friendly and ansawered all my questions in a professianal, friendly manner. Breakfast was very good; enjoyed having spaciuos area to eat and visit as we had 8 folks who traveled and 3 from the area that were able to congregate and enjoy visiting in a comfortable relaxing area. Rooms were very clean and comfortable as well,

Very clean and up to date facility!!

The only problem we had was kitchen staff did not speak English. My husband wanted a wet cloth to wipe off the syrup off the table we were going to sit at and they gave him 4 dry wash cloths after try to “sign” what he wanted.

Nice and clean. Very easy to find and plenty of parking.

Breakfast- it was a busy weekend and didn’t have a lot of food. Asked one of the employees if they were bringing out more eggs and sausage. She didn’t say anything and left. Never returned.

The location was great and easy to find. This is a new hotel so everything felt that way. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean and nice. Lots of restaurants nearby. The free breakfast was average but had enough selections for us. Liked the Dove products in the bathroom. Liked that the ice machine was away from any rooms at the end of the hall.

The lotion dispenser was empty in the bathroom and the cleaning person left a rag in the fridge.

Breakfast was AWESOME!! LOVE the pancake maker!! And everything was fresh. The rooms were exceptionally clean! Great hotel, would stay there again ANYTIME!! Worth every penny. Thank you for your great service as well.
