Exceptional hosts and a wonderfully historic, charming property. We were received & treated like family from the moment we arrived with warm hospitality, attention to every detail and even a perfect, home-cooked breakfast. Being in town for a wedding reception at the nearby Hilton, comparing experiences with my own observations and other family members staying there, we clearly made the best and envious choice in staying here at the Kendall Tavern Inn. It is important to note the New Orleans King & Twin room we rented no longer has the twin bed pictured here on Booking.com. As long as you are aware of what awaits you, this is not an issue. A cot was provided which was actually exceptional. It may be a bit short if you're 6 1/2 feet tall, but I am not & had no problem.

We loved chatting with our host, and breakfast was a real treat. The location is great — quiet, but just a short walk to the shop’s & restaurants.

Really, the only issue we had was using the bath bar that also claimed to be shampoo. It really made my hair feel stiff. A very minor issue. We will definitely stay there again when we’re in the area.

Beautiful home with comfortable rooms. Inn keepers Mark and Nancy were wonderful! Knowledgeable and entertaining-made you feel very welcome. Breakfast was above and beyond what we expected. Location was perfect. Close enough to walk to town, far enough away to be quiet.

Pricey through booking.com. Would’ve been cheaper booking direct.

The breakfast is a three-course breakfast with coffee, tea and juice, and with a very creative presentation to each dish which was delicious!!! The Inn is located on Main St within walking distance of the restaurants and shopping in Freeport.

Staying at the Kendall Tavern Inn was a great experience. It is very nice quaint place to stay in Freeport..

The three course.breakfast was amazing. And Mark, the inn keeper , was super friendly and informative. Really charming. Very accommodating of our Covid precautions ( we were able to have our breakfast outside, which was lovely and relaxing. And our room was exceptionally clean and had a very comfortable bed.

Although we were a ten minute walk from downtown Freeport, wish it were a bit closer.

The breakfast was absolutely “over the top”. The selection, and especially presentation, was of the quality of many exquisite restaurants. You will be amazed to see the detail in the presentation. Incredible!

Mark, is a concierge and incredible entertainer. He takes care of all needs with a smile and many, many stories and jokes. You will remember him for many months after you leave.

Great location to a very walkable city. The Innkeepers were delightful and the breakfasts amazing. Mark and Nancy were excellent hosts and gave us great recommendations on food and things to see and do. Sitting on the front porch is a must do and they have provided coffee, tea and small snacks as well. And even a puzzle area for unwinding before heading off to bed.

I loved that the morning's menu was written on the chalkboard, and that is consisted of 3 courses. It was phenomenal in presentation and taste. My husband also raved about the breakfast, but he was especially impressed that the Inn was locked, providing greater security for all guests. The shared amenities in the common areas were very thoughtful . . . ice maker, home baked cookies and bottled water. We felt very at home relaxing there with a night cap, before retiring for the evening.

As a personal preference, we would have liked a sturdier chair in our room, and a second waste basket, outside of the bathroom. Other than that, the accommodations were very comfortable.

The breakfast was creative, delicious, and featured local specialties. Positively 5 star-worthy (and I’m a professional baker)!

The stay was too brief (our limitations). Our room was on the third floor and a bit hot/stuffy when we arrived; however, the owners brought in a window fan that helped (and the temperature dropped in the evening).

The owners were very delightful and kind. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was a little away from the center but it was very nice.

There was nothing we didn’t like.
