Very clean room and bathroom. Comfortable bed & bedclothes. Quiet. Our particular room had new tv, microwave, fridge. And a coffeemaker. Heat/AC unit was quiet. Handy charging station on night stand. Plenty of hangers. Nice shampoo/conditioner/bodywash in the shower. Really everything you need. Some of the furniture was a bit worn but it did not detract overall. No smells or stains. Clearly the owners & staff care! 2nd time there and would definitely book again.

A second room booked was a smidge more worn, with older appliances and the heat/ac unit had a very slight rattle. This is being very nitpicky though as it was still very clean and functional. The breakfast offering is more basic (no hot stations) but fine for what it is and there's always the diner nearby if you want more. Common areas are small. Exercise room but no pool. But really I feel I'd be rude to find much fault- for a more 'budget' place, it's very nice.

It was right off the highway and easy to find. Although it was late, the staff was jolly and efficient. I was impressed by the good humor of the staff throughout, from check in to the digital services available to the games and books and convenience store, to the letter I received when I left. It was so quiet despite next to the highway and it was incredibly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was varied and overall good. Shower was great on pressure and temp both. Parking was easy and I felt very safe. Small fridge and microwave in the room. Also the “things you can do in New Paltz” was fantastic. We hadn’t intended on staying over there but I’m so glad we did - and now we know more and have experienced more of the region and history!

The coffee at breakfast wasn’t the best. Also, the smoke detector is right outside the bathroom so when my partner’s long hot shower created so much steam it went off it took years off my life!

It was very clean, my husband and I travel alot and this hotel was one of the cleanest, nice job!

Breakfast was fine - not extravagant but fine. GREAT MATTRESS!!! Nice amenities - including makeup remover. Terrific value for what was offered, considering the area and the time of year (Fall foliage)

Old tired furniture, chipped paint, popcorn finish on walls and ceiling Toilet paper was less than 1/4 roll left on the bar - folded down. That was absurd and unacceptable. No grab bars in the shower/bath. Dangerous! Alarm in my room (smoke alarm?) was going off for a long time in the bathroom as I was in there, in the shower. No idea why - very unsettling.

The Hotel sits at the top of New Paltz, right on the Empire State Trail so perfect for cyclists doing a multi-day trip. As you arrive at right turn on the EST, next to a quite busy crossroads, the hotel is reached by turning right and using the crossing to get to it. Rooms were really quiet, they had no problems about me keeping my bike in the room, beds were comfortable and the showers lovely and hot.

Not a lot to complain about. It’s worth noting that it is above New Paltz town centre, which is about a mile away downhill. I was tired and very hungry so ended up just eating at a nearby pizza place rather than exploring the town.

All the staff were courteous, friendly & efficient. I arrived a little early and was met with a warm reception. The whole place is very clean and everything worked as expected. The bed and room was comfortable and quiet. The hot water is seriously hot and plenty of it. Breakfast was continental: three varieties of instant oatmeal, six varieties of yogurt, two choices of toast, two choices of fresh danishes, fruit cups, waffles and a coffee/tea machine that can make any type of coffee you want (latte, espresso, cappuccino, etc). The location is near many shops and the center of town and University.

These are not dislikes, but I mention them because I took notice. I like privacy, however the way the curtains are designed, it leaves a half inch gap in the middle where someone can view inside, so bring a safety pin or two. The road is so close to the intersection that you will probably miss the turn and may possibly be blocked by oncoming traffic. Go down the road 100 feet and make the left into the Hampton Inn and drive to the rear of that building and you will see an access road into America's Best Value.

The room and bathroom were extremely clean!! King bed was really comfy as well! The continental breakfast was a great quick bite; waffles, toast, yogurt and some fruit. Staff was very helpful and nice and I loved how close it is to town, we parked our cars at the hotel and and walked everywhere in town. Will definitely stay here again!

A bit more options for breakfast, although I know most hotels don't offer anything at all. So, I was grateful to have this option within the hotel for an early bite.

The entire staff (front desk and cleaning) is very nice and helpful. Inn is kept very clean and conveniently located within a mile of several eateries, gas station and grocery stores. Plenty of parking is available. Microwave, Refrigerator and coffee machine available in all rooms. Our windows had a screen and we were able to open them for some fresh air.

Breakfast is very basic, consisting of bread/yogurt/cereal/frozen waffles. I wish they offered eggs/potatoes/sausages, etc. Bathroom sinks are low which can be a problem for a tall person. There are only 2 small hooks to hang the towels,. A towel bar and few extra hooks should be installed. Our mattresses were saggy. It becomes noisy around 6am in the morning.

The entire stay was great!! This is our 2nd trip to this location and hotel. With saying this, 1st trip was 2 nights...this one was 4 nights. The staff was awesome...super friendly and easy to approach. We had a room with 2 beds ( they were comfortable and the linens/?pillows were clean and comfortable) ...the room had a nice-sized closet w/a full-length mirror on the door. Had a kitchen/ storage area as one unit...may sound funny but it was a great way to maximize space and give you what you need. The room also had 2 smaller desks...one to use as a desk and one had a mirror over it..so more like a dressing area. There was a 45-50" TV hanging on the wall. And between the 2 desks was a luggage stand. Lastly, there was a nightstand between the 2 beds that had a clock with power outlets for phone charging PLUS an outlet right under the light in the wall. Going back to the kitchen area...there was a microwave, one cup coffee maker with coffee & coffee amenities. The refrigerator was the best I have had in the last few stays...it had a freezer!! I know that may not be a big thing but when you are there for 4+ days...it is because you may want things to microwave at night or breakfast but need a freezer (like breakfast sandwiches or ice cream). The refrigerator was a large college-size one but again was perfect!! Bathroom - good size, towels were soft and a good size. Had a make-up mirror in addition to the standard over the sink mirror. The tub/Shower was a nice size. The water was hot within a few minutes and the pressure was perfect. I was surprised/impressed that the cleaning staff came daily...other places only cleaned once every three nights. But we didn't have the room cleaned each day but we did get fresh towels on those days.

There wasn't much I didn't like but here are my thoughts...lighting in the bathroom was good but not for applying makeup. Especially where the make-up mirror was. The exhaust in the bathroom wasn't strong enough...after 2 people showered it was still very damp in there. The lighting in the room...again great for general usage...but there was only one light between the 2 desk areas and one electrical outlet...so in my case, I had to have my laptop running..which took both outlets (with my additional monitor). And trying to use the 2nd area with the mirror to get ready/do makeup was a no-go as well.

The location was quite walkable to a number of stores, restaurants, and even a movie theater practically across the street. It was right near the heart of New Paltz, and a short drive from charming towns such as Rosendale (which has an incredible trestle, an historic mine, and some great food choices). The breakfast was adequate and had a great coffee machine. The ground-floor room was easily accessible and squeaky clean. Those who checked us in and out were particularly kind, welcoming and informative.

We pretty much liked everything!
