The staff is amazing. The room was clean and very spacious. Everything is the room was updated and beautiful. The seating area with table and chairs was a wonderful surprise, I sat there with my college student who I was in town to see talking for hours .

I would of liked a heads up about the construction. I understand the building is being renovated . There was no notice when booking the room. There was no mess just a lot of big boxes everywhere and people working in the building. One other thing we stood two night and and house keeping never cleaned our room.

Right on the Raquette River! Room was big and breakfast included. Central to all in tiny village of Potsdam. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of charm overall, although some items need a refresh.

It’s a bit dated; likely time for a refresh on the carpets, which thankfully did not smell at all. Also, breakfast was just Ok, comparable to anything I have eaten at a chain mid-level, but the smell lingers in the lobby area. Need to get proper kitchen ventilation.

mostly clean, pretty much quiet, nice staff, easy to get in/out of room with luggage from car, relaxing atmosphere, microwave and fridge worked well, breakfast was nice/ adequate

room darkening shades would help a lot with night light pollution and early am light , need to dust behind bed , more comfortable/ less hard mattress would be nice, and would prefer light colored dust ruffle on bed as like to check for cleanliness of bed faucets for sink a little difficult to use but manageable

I forgot my credit card at the hotel after checking out. A staff called me and mailed the card to me. I was very impressed and grateful.

I booked through booking, com and my card was charged before I checked in including for a night I was not even in the hotel. I called and spoke to one of the managers early in the morning that my flight was delayed, so I would not be checking into the hotel until the next day so they could give out my room to any client that needed a reservation for that day and refund my money but they refused and would not even help me with the number for booking.com or let booking .com know I won't be checking into the hotel till the next day so my money can be refunded.

The location is absolutely perfect and it's a great hotel. It's definitely a bit tired, but that's very much what you can expect when you are in the middle of nowhere! I would stay here any time I'm in Potsdam, and they really have done a great job of being the best in the area!

The rooms are a little too dark - need some better lighting.

The pillows were way too squishy. Wish there was a firmer option, at least on one of the beds. the headboard on the one bed was completely broken away from the frame which made the headboard hit the wall when you moved in the bed. Kept getting disconnected from the WiFi

The location was perfectly located within the town. The staff at the hotel, especially at the front desk, were very helpful and kind. Everything was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay.

There isn't anything I didn't like about this stay! The hotel was a fair price, especially for the number of days and the type of room we stayed in. If I had to say one thing to improve it would be having more options at the free breakfast, but otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Loved the location, being next to downtown with lots of eateries and a movie theater. Very cool, historic building with a view of the historic downtown buildings and the river. Very central, and close to everything. Breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, but it had a decent variety, and ran for four hours, which was nice. Refrigerator had fridge AND freezer components, which helped. Historical photos were hung throughout the building, which gave us a feel for the history of Potsdam.

The key reader in the door hardly ever worked on the first try. Sometimes, it required four or five attempts to get the thing to unlock. The bathroom was a bit dated, but everything worked fine. Television channel selections were minimal.

Location was excellent! Easy in and out, plenty of parking. Staff was wonderful and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of options . Cute and quaint. Beds were extremely comfortable! Affordable pricing

No washcloths for the bathroom, or garbage can in the restroom area. Could use some updating and carpet refreshing. Better ambient lighting in rooms

A great location beside the Raquette River, a park and in the middle of the town. Restaurants are a short 2 minute walk. Loads of free parking. Rooms are a good size with a bathroom having a separate toilet/tub room. This is an older, heritage building furnished with period furniture from the early 1900s.

I agree with the many reviews that describe the complimentary breakfast as underwhelming; on offer were two overripe bananas, a bowl of fresh oranges, lukewarm omelette-like eggs and overdone bacon.
