This may be an older place to stay, but the room was exceptionally clean. They have done some recent upgrades, and everything looks very nice. The shower was spacious and had good shower pressure. There was a large closet to place luggage and belongings out of the way. The 2 people at the front desk I interacted with were very nice and personable. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area!

The only thing I might add would be some USB lamps or clocks with charging stations in them. My husband forgot a wall charger to charge his phone. But those items might take away from the overall ambience of the place., but it would've been convenient. It really was great.

The location was great, right within walking distance of everything downtown. It's a very nice clean place to lay your head for a short while or stop over.

This is not a come "home" and vacay spot while you are in the area, it is great for laying your head ... Clean and comfortable. The price was that of a 3-star and above hotel without all of the amenities of the property available to you. I didn't particularly appreciate that they did not have the extra hotel latch (the one that allows you to open the door partially while still secure) the only method of securing the door was a normal house door knob that you could open with a screwdriver.

This place was awesome! -- the owner lives near the property and is an absolute gem to deal with especially considering that I had a late-ish check-in in early July. Room was clean, comfortable, and had more to offer than most other accommodations I stayed at when I roadtripped SC, NC and VA. Parking on the night I arrived was limited as the whole lodge was at capacity (no vacancy) but there were safe and free options nearby (plus, parking directly near my door isn't something I care much about). I would 100% recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone!

Location was perfect for my destination and room was great for my needs. Large bathroom with lots of counter space, large shower with good water pressure, and bed was very comfortable. Very friendly staff.

The lot itself is small, and the parking can be limited when busy. Returned late at night from event and came back to one of the few spots remaining. Luckily it is a very short walk.

Older property, but nicely updated, clean comfortable and surprisingly quiet given its proximity to the road. Never heard cars or next door neighbors. Nice fire pit and charming cafe out front for breakfast or lunch.

Not a thing to complain about. Maybe that the concierge had to bring us ice- were not allowed to self service, as the machine is not the push to serve type you see in most facilities.

It has been remodeled and they did an excellent job! It looks like the quality a person would demand if it were being done in their own home. The beds were SO comfortable! and the pillows too. I would stay again in a heartbeat. The staff is very friendly and could not be more helpful.

The rooms are small.

We were a little anxious from the exterior pictures of what we would find when we arrived. Walking into the lobby was like walking into a cozy living room with a warm welcome from your grandfather. The room was a pictured and perfect for our needs. We would return on a next visit to the area. Had a great conversation with the owner.

The in room furnace was loud and had to be turned off at night to allow sleeping

Excellent customer service, very clean and comfortable. GREAT value. Banner Elk and Boone tend to get overpriced, booked and crowded, so this was a nice affordable, quiet option within a pretty drive of all the other things the area has to offer. And the little cafe onsite was a SUPER cute added bonus with great food!

The front desk lady was very gracious with helping us get our room in the correct location at the INN. What I especially like was the walk in shower (It was really an unexpected feature for the size of the motel). There were various eating establishments close by that helped tremendously.

Great Inn in a close proximity to Grandfather and hiking trails. Bed was very comfy and room was spacious. Outside fire pit added value. Safe and comfortable for a weekend stay.

Bathroom wasn’t clean enough (hair, creamer powder all over the counter) and the walls were thin (the room was quiet, located on the side but due to loud people next door I couldn’t sleep one of the nights).
