My wife and I came here because the hotel literally has its own beach. Since we were traveling the ICW by kayak, we pulled the boat out and were immediately on the property. Easy! The staff was friendly, and very kind to us, even offering to help us out on certain things. The room was immaculate, and had an awesome balcony with chairs to sit outside and enjoy the sun. Too bad it was cold during our stay. They provided room service each day and generous portions of coffee. The bed was comfortable, and room was quiet. They had wheeled carts that made it easy for us to get our gear up the elevator to our room. The room had a little kitchenette with microwave and all sorts of cooking gear (which was of no use because there was not a burner 🧐). There was a lot of good storage in the room. The price was very good for what the room was.

Shower was often lukewarm

This is the best hotel ever. Perfect, clean, spacious, comfortable, and inviting rooms with a large bathroom (excellent water temp and pressure in shower & bathtub), full kitchen (with full fridge/freezer, microwave, stove, coffee maker, cups/plates/bowls/cooking utensils & cookware), big screen smart tv, large dresser/cabinet with beach towels, excellent indoor and natural light, great A/C unit, a dedicated workspace and fast Wi-Fi, a private balcony with a table and chairs, and personal touches “The Dream Team” provides to make you feel warmly welcomed. Awesome, excellently-maintained pool and outdoor shower to wash off sand after enjoying their quiet, private beach with incredible views you can enjoy by relaxing on provided lounge chairs and a wooden swing. Outdoor patio with tables, chairs, and umbrellas to enjoy outdoor grilling and time with friends and family. Free parking with first-come-first-serve options if you want covered parking that is close to the steps and elevators. A great place for solo travelers, couples, and families. Also, this is *the* place to stay if you want to easily access (I did so on foot for the 4th of July parade and fireworks without dealing with traffic) downtown Southport and the waterfront parks and restaurants. Thank you for some of the best days of my life! So happy and grateful I chose this magnificent hotel! The rooms were clean, all the staff were friendly and it was fun looking for shells on their small (approximatley 50 yards wide?) river front beach and watching the ships go by. They have a nice pool and patio area.

It would be nice to have drinks and snacks in the office to purchase or a drink/snack machine located on the premise. The shops aren't far, so as long as you know this ahead of time, you can purchase these things elsewhere and bring them back to the room.

Beach towels included, pool access, and beach access.

Very new and clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Full size refrigerator and kitchenette. Cold A/C. Everything worked as it should. Office person was very nice when we arrived.

Cleaning staff left a tip envelope after the 1st day. They came in and tidied up and changed out towels the 1st couple of days and then just stopped. Nothing changed on our end. Left a tip each day!! It was just confusing more than anything. We really didn’t need service each day. It would have been nice to know so we could have gotten towels before the office closed. Also not sure if it was because we booked through Booking.com but they put us in the 1st level room closest to the street on the north east side of the building, closest to the office. Definitely no sleeping in!!!!

Absolutely loved this hotel and the location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Huge room with very well equipped kitchenette including large fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Handy for us as we were travelling for a few weeks to different locations and had food and drinks with us. Very clean room with table and chairs and balcony with chairs…fabulous view across to the estuary/bay. Very comfortable beds and a lovely bathroom with a huge walk in shower. Our room was a deluxe double with balcony. Plenty of parking either underneath each of the three blocks of accommodations or in the large car park within the grounds. Lovely pool area with a beach in front.. They have regular weekly food trucks and live music. Unfortunately, we didn’t experience this as we were out that particular day during our visit. Set in a lovely, peaceful residential area and a 15-20 minute stroll into town. Southport is a beautiful place to stay with plenty of shops and restaurants whilst retaining a small town feel. There are many parts to the area that have been used in many films and tv shows and the local tourist office has a museum with local history and memorabilia and artefacts from the films, in particular from Safe Haven which is one of the more well known in this area.

The only negative is that we didn’t stay longer 😌

I liked being able to see the river from our balcony. (The river view is not available from all rooms.) Clean spacious room. Even the top blanket smelled clean! The room had a kitchenette. This place has a nice pool and lounge area. Parking was good. There is an elevator also. Staff was friendly.

The only negative thing is the TV was a 35".(spouse would have liked a bigger tv.) Some of the other rooms do have a bigger TV. Some of the rooms overlook the park or the woods.

The room was outstanding - the cleanliness of the room was amazing! From the moment we walked into the room we noticed how clean the room was. It wasn't a brand new room, but it felt like it was. The cleaning staff deserves the highest of praise for the great job they do maintaining the rooms. Location to downtown was great too - a short walk to shops and restaurants made it a great weekend get away.

Nothing, was extremely happy with everything at the property. It is located at the mouth of the Cape Fear River, so I expected we might hear a lot of water vessel noise, but we didn't hear any noise from the boats/ships unless we were on the balcony.

The location on the Cape Fear River was quite beautiful. The facilities were more like a well-appointed beach condo than a hotel room. The staff was cordial. My companion felt the same, save for the fact that she wished there was someone in the office later into the evening. But this was a minor point.

I wouldn't say it was something I disliked, but the railing on the small veranda blocked your view of the river when you were seated. Again, a minor thing.

This resort was everything we expected and more. Private pool and beach. Local restaurants and shops to visit.

Nothing that could be helped. But we went the same time the tropical storm Debby was occurring and were not able to enjoy the pool and beach. But the room was so spacious and with a kitchen and full refrigerator, we made the best of our stay. Would go back for sure!
