Everything about the inn was exceptional. The inn itself is beautiful and we spent quite some time just exploring the place. The staff was wonderful and accomodating, the breakfast was delicious, and we even bought a cute tote as a souvenier. We'll definitely be staying again whenever we're in the area.

I think if I had to pick something, it would just be to be careful stepping out of the shower, as the tubs are a little high. I honestly don't have anything I didn't like. My partner and I had a wonderful time, and we'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area. Although this time, we'll have to try some of the other wonderful restaraunts the staff recommeneded us.

The location was excellent for our trip itinerary and the building is quite magnificent. Very good free hot breakfast with bacon, egg, and potatoes and various continental options. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the fascinating history of the property. Beautifully decorated with many antiques and very clean.

Most of the rooms are absolutely beautiful and quite spacious, but our room was one of the smallest and the mattress was a bit uncomfortable. Since we booked the night before, it would have been nice if they would have upgraded us to one of the larger rooms, since they were almost all unoccupied.

They have lots of lovely decorations and artwork all over the building, with a surprising number of beautiful sitting rooms and porches. For breakfast they had a great selection of fresh fruits and some reasonably nice eggs, bacon, and sausage, in addition to various breads and cereals. The whole place was very fun to explore and spend time in!

To me the eggs and sausage tasted about like you would expect a normal hotel’s eggs and sausage to taste — kind of dry. It’s only worth mentioning, though, because everything else about the inn (and even the rest of the breakfast) was so wonderful that something normal caught me by surprise!

The mansion is impeccably appointed with great attention to detail in every room. From the several choices of sitting areas to the themed overnight rooms, it is apparent much thought and care has gone into the design and decor. The rooms are spotlessly clean and contain every necessary amenity needed for an overnight stay. The breakfast buffet that was provided in the morning was delicious with many choices available . We came to celebrate birthdays a few months after our daughter had her wedding there because the wedding was so wonderful and special. The staff is warm and welcoming and we will continue to find lots of reasons to return to the inn for celebrations in the future.

This is a unique hotel with every room having a different theme/decor, set in a classic old mansion. It is as much a museum as a hotel, and that includes the hallways! They managed to find us a room with 2 separate beds (The Railway Room) which was nice since we weren't traveling as a couple. It's worth it to have a look at whatever other room you can, they're all lovingly decorated. The location is great; easy access to Painesville or Mentor with all the shops and restaurants a short drive in either direction.

The breakfast room is in the basement, so a bit dark and also not amazing quality.

Wow! Book this immediately!!! I cannot even put into words how amazing our stay was at this incrediable mansion. My adult daughter and I went for a weekend get away. We created an unforgettable weekend thanks to the Steele mansion and it's staff. Amy, who answered the phone, answered all my questions & was so helpful when I had questions regarding booking. She was great!! Mary, at the front desk, was so amazing!!! She was so fun to talk to while we just chilled in the lobby after dinner. She was busy getting decorations out to spurce up the place for fall. We were able to explore the mansion too. It's not just a bunch of roped off areas to merely display antiques. The owner, Carol (who Mary raved about) clearly thought of every single detail that a guest would want when designing this place. You want hot sauce for your eggs....it's right here! Need the towels to be extra fluffy...done. Want 500+ thread count sheets...alright! Can I sit on the furniture...yes, that's what it's for! We cannot wait to return again. I can only imagine this house decorated for the different holidays!!! Thank you Carol!!! We had a lovely suprise at check in that brought tears to my eyes! You made my time with my daughter very special.

Not one single thing

Steele Mansion Inn & Gathering Hub is a boutique hotel offering unique, themed rooms. We enjoyed 3 nights in room 205. The room was spectacular - spacious and well-appointed- and immaculately maintained. The size of the bathroom alone is larger than most standard hotel rooms. The comfortable bedding led to restful sleeps and rejuvenated, refreshed being the next morning. I enjoyed a lengthy chat with owner Carol who was more than happy to share the history, acquisition and restoration effort for this lovely property. The staff (Carol, Amy, Jenny, others I didn't personally meet) were friendly and made every aspect of our stay wonderful. We will definitely return to the property at our next visit to Chardon, OH to visit with our daughter.

The one area that could be shored up more is the complimentary breakfast buffet. The offering was delightful but alternating daily selections every other day makes the offering even more delightful for guests with multi-day stay.

We really liked that it wasn’t a standard hotel. Recently renovated, all the rooms are well sized and up to date, yet no two rooms are alike, each being decorated differently. The property is beautifully maintained, inside and out, with a lot of attention to detail. We also enjoyed the generous self serve breakfast before checking out. The many public spaces are decorated with period pieces, memorabilia and photos. While checking in, we were told we had been upgraded to the Peacock Room, an unexpected surprise and a beautiful large room. The staff were informative and engaging. Other hotels in this rural area are mostly limited to a few, off the highway, low end chain motels, so we were thrilled to discover the Steele Mansion. It made our short stay to attend a wedding perfect.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

The mansion was meticulous and exceeded our expectations! The front desk was very informative and helped with our tv set up as well. The attention to detail in remodeling was amazing. (My husband is a builder and remodeler so he really appreciates this!). The breakfast was the "ICING ON THE CAKE". Best bacon I've had and a nice variety. I can't say enough.

It was a bit pricey and I'm not sure if we could visit frequently.

What a beautiful mansion!! From the moment of arrival til we departed we enjoyed our stay. The level of cleanliness exceeded our expectation! The staff does an amazing job. The room was so comfortable. The antiques were lovely to view. The rooms were open for us to explore at our leisure! We sat at the bar on the 1st floor and conversed with the owner how the property was acquired and all the renovations they completed. Highly recommend for a night or weekend away! You will not be disappointed!! We will definitely stay again!!
