I loved the location here. Walked to Alberta each night and still had a place to hang out when I got back with the on site bar. It was pretty close to a few other neighborhoods that were very walkable as well. I didnt spend any time downtown, so I can't speak to accessibility there, but super convenient to get to the airport as well. Check in was a breeze and the decor is so so cool. I love the adapted use and the amenities are great. The gardens outside were beautiful. They were also able to hold my bags when I was checking out until I could make my way to my next destination 11/10, will definitely stay again!

I had a wonderful stay at the Kennedy School. It's such a unique space, and the staff members were incredibly kind. I enjoyed meandering the hallways, which were full of quirky art and interesting lighting fixtures. Also a lot of history. Clearly care and attention to detail went into it.

It was a bit chilly at times, but I imagine it's difficult to keep the space warm. Toward the end of my stay, the smoke detector was beeping, hopefully they replaced the battery.

I loved the location. How our hotel was separated from the School. I enjoyed the little walk outside into the building. I LOVED our room! It was so beautiful. The art is so beautiful. The headboard of the bed was breathtaking. I love the style Mcmenamins has.

One thing was that in the shower, the steam revealed markings of a past guest’s drawings on the shower door. Thankfully they were cute drawings but it was weird to see them showering.

McMenamin's is an experience that eveyone should enjoy at least once! The historically preserved property was restored with funky lighting and art that celebrated its history. We spent hours walking up and down the hallways of the old school looking at art and memorabilia. We got in late from a flight and went to the restaurant close to 10 pm and they still served us. The ciders are especially luscious and the warm brownie with caramel and ice cream is to die for! We checked out the theater and were sorry we missed the movie. A wonderful and memorable experience.

The bed was ok but not super comfortable, though the pillows were great. We loved the dark green ceiling in our room!

Let me say first that if anyone is blue light or intense light sensitive, this is the place to go. They currently use lighting around the 3300-3500k range which means you can walk around w/out becoming disoriented or having to wear blue block glasses. The staff was very professional. The room was simple and met my needs.

The internet is NOT strong and definitely not above 40-50% reliable. It did not work at all in my room or in the restaurant. Hallway only. I saw the repeaters, but the fact is that the old buildings are not signal-friendly. The walls are also paper thin. And when I say paper thin, I mean I could literally hear the guy in the next room moving around on his bed - Not banging the headboard or anything. Just rolling around in his sleep. There is also no type of environmental in the room. Only one ceiling fan and a window that opens to the outside.

It is an experience itself to be able to sleep in an old school. The whole building is very atmospheric with a lot of memorabilia and references to its period as a school. Loved also the concept of the smaller bars with different types of music and atmosphere. Sleeping in an old classroom is definitely a memorable stay.

The location was perfect with lots or restaurants and bars in walking distance. The hotel was beautifully decorated and so interesting to check out all the details and art. All the bars and restaurants were amazing and open late too! I forgot my favorite hat in the room and the wonderful staff is mailing it back to me with no charge even. Terrific experience!

This place is MAGICAL!! I had no idea what to expect, but it was absolutely AMAZING. It’s an entire community, and I adored it. The bed was comfortable, rooms were clean, the grounds were spectacular, and the positive vibes were off the charts!

Room was VERY dark. The lighting throughout the facility is dim, which adds to the ambience, but I would like to have had the OPTION of better lighting in my room.

I loved how they converted this school into a hotel but still kept its school charm and bones. I wish I was there for longer than one night so I could explore the other restaurants, movies in the theater and sitting in the courtyard/pool.

Nothing! I can’t wait to go back and check out the rest of the property!

What a fantastic hotel and wished we'd had longer than one night. So much character and history in one building and it felt quite magical to enter into it all even if just for one night. Hotel was also in a lovely part of Portland.
