Location of Sunset Motel and Cottages is great. All accommodations are set back from the highway, with zero to just a few steps, and parking just outside. The rooms are very large and clean, with a microwave, coffee maker, and small fridge. The bathroom has a large shower stall and a vanity/sink with a nice wide surface to placing toiletries. The vaulted ceilings in Sunset accommodations + the nice size of the rooms, both add to the comfor of a stay.

A faceplate on one of the numerous electrical outlets was loose when I tried to plug in the coffee maker.

The reasonably priced location is near several state parks. Fort Ligonier and the town of Ligonier are a short drive down the road. One can tour the historic fort and walk around the town. It is also about a forty minute drive to Fallingwater and other Frank Lloyd Wright sites. There are several coffee shops in town for breakfast.

It is right next to a highway which is very convenient but there is a little noise from traffic. This might bother some but did not bother me.

When I texted a question, it was answered in a timely and friendly manner. Nice to have a refrigerator, microwave, and table. Room was a decent size for a motel.

The hot water in the shower took quite a while to get hot, and I had it as hot as it would go the entire shower. I was (and still am) very uneasy and didn't appreciate that I had to text a picture of my driver's license to someone I didn't know. I feel someone should be there to look at the driver's license.

The location is on Rt 30 just east of Ligonier village, so not exactly charming with the cars whizzing by. But it was convenient for our purposes, a family reunion. There are chairs outside the room facing the road and a comfortable chair and a good lamp inside for reading. I liked the painting that hung on one wall. The country side in this region is quite lovely, green with so many trees.

The hot water was a tad sparse.

The room was large and comfortable and even had a cathedral ceiling. Good beds, fridge, and more. Also close to the town of Ligonier, which was very nice and had a great restaurant and ice cream place.

The hot water in the shower lasted only a few minutes. Quickest shower I ever took! :)

As someone that was doing an event at the Compass Inn, you couldn't really beat the location. Would have also been perfect for doing exploring around the Laurel highlands

The only two minor issues we had with the room were that the comforters on the bed were a little bit dirty when we arrived and there there was a bit of an ant problem over by the fridge. Nothing that particularly impacted our stay, just a few spots that could use improvement

I would suggest to do some landscaping (plant a couple of trees and bushes) so that the surroundings are a bit separated from the road. The outside does not do justice to the inside, as the rooms which are amazing

This place is definitely a hidden Gem . We stayed in one of the hotel rooms . The room is huge with a high vaulted ceiling. The room was extra clean and very inviting as you entered . They use a mini split for heating and cooling, which made it very easy to change the room 🌡 The bathroom was very nice sized with a walk-in shower .

The only thing was the narrow driveway in .

Simple yet ample room. Climate control, water pressure, bed comfort were all super. It’s great seeing that independent operators in small towns still run quality lodging. They were attentive when I communicated and for once had streaming availability on their TV. Great place!! Oh btw, cute nice breakfast place almost next to the place….!
