The 1912 historic mansion was nothing short of breathtaking—a beautifully preserved gem that perfectly captures the elegance and charm of its era. Every detail, from the architecture to the decor, reflected its original aesthetic, making it feel like stepping back in time while enjoying modern comforts. The homeowner was incredibly warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to make us feel at home. They graciously accommodated our four dogs, providing access to a securely fenced area where they could run and play freely. The morning following our arrival, we were treated to a delicious home-cooked breakfast that was absolutely perfect—a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more memorable. We were also provided recommendations of nearby places to visit, which did not disappoint! The property was immaculate—spotlessly clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully maintained. It was an unforgettable stay, blending history, hospitality, and a genuine pet-friendly atmosphere. Truly, everything about this experience was perfect!

This is a very minor dislike… The passing vehicles make a decent amount of noise that has heard when sitting out on the balcony. This is not something that you can hear inside of the home though.

We passed a very comfortable night at the 1912 B&B en route to seeing Congaree National Park. Unique decor, comfortable bed, spotless rooms. Very welcoming and friendly hosts. Great breakfast. All in a wonderful period house with lots of original features. There are lounge and sitting room areas that make you feel at home and comfortable. This is clearly a labour of love for the hosts and they have done a wonderful job. Would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

This is a charming property with loads of character. We stayed in the quirky Moroccoan room with a beautiful en-suite and windows facing the back garden. We were very comfortable there and had a good night's sleep. Tracey gave a lovely presentation of the history of the house over breakfast, and recommended the perfect place to have dinner and drinks. We made a last-minute booking, but Tom still managed to whip up vegan options for breakfast, which was completely unexpected and very much appreciated. Had not planned on staying in Sumter at all, but staying here is reason enough to come back!

We simply loved everything about this place.

The surrounding areas are a little startling but the security at 1912 is taken seriously. The hot breakfasts were timely and filling. The hosts were kind and friendly. The property itself is beautiful and conveniently centered near downtown.

Lovely house, well-appointed rooms, good breakfast, and the best coffee we have had. Stacy and Thomas were wonderful hosts. We ended up having to stay the week and Stacy was very accommodating. This is easily the best value in Sumter and very near Shaw AFB.

The home is amazing as are the hosts. Great history and told very well by Tracey one of the owners. Breakfast was good and there is easy parking. Highly recommend!

Nothing except the Iris's were not in bloom for the Iris festival.

Breakfast was very good, hot and on time. Staff was attentive but not overly so. Location of the faclilty was great. I am from that town and was already familiar with the home.

There was nothing that I would have changed. All was very good. Parking was nice, too.

I love historic combs and getting to stay in one was amazing! Location is great. The homeowner is awesome and the breakfast was delicious!

If you have mobility issues, the rooms are all upstairs. I do not so I did not have a problem with it personally.

Heavier shades in the bedroom might have been nice, but really this place exceeds many other historic home B&B's.

Very warm welcome, unique atmosphere, very good and spacious facilities, excellent breakfast. We booked the accommodation for a stopover on the way from Orlando to Washington DC. Next time we will make a 3-day stopover!
