The guy at the front desk, Mauricio, was amazing! He was so nice when we came in and made sure to get us our room right away. He let us know where everything was and was very upfront on the deposit, charges, and made me feel comfortable about staying there. I was at a different hotel for my three nights in San Antonio, and it was not good at all! I wish I would’ve came to this hotel. Online it said only a king bed room was available. But as soon as we got there, he saw I had my little brother and mom with me and offered a room with two Queen beds, no charge. He was so considerate. He said if we needed anything to let him know and he kept his word on that the whole night we were there. I made sure to confirm his name with him so I could leave a review. I signed up for rewards because my boyfriend had his airforce graduation there and I knew I’d be traveling back so I wanted to make sure I went there next time. And if Candlewood is in other states, it will be my first choice. Last thing, I am 18 and I forgot to check if I had to be 21 to check in at this hotel, so when I first got there, I was nervous they weren’t going to let us stay even though I tried to change it into my moms name. Mauricio ended up helping us out a ton and make sure to get us into our room and settled as quickly as he could. He ended up making it okay for it to be in my name and didn’t take more than 5 minutes.

I cannot say anything was bad at all. I’m young so the prices were a little high for me. But I can proudly say it was an amazing stay. And i know that if I was older and when I am older, tje price won’t seem so bad. Except, a $20 cash deposit? That was amazing, I am so glad because I was already down money from the past hotel, so thank you!

The room was very clean and the staff were extremely kind. Besides having a small cooktop, microwave and midsize refrigerator as well as silverware, plates, etc., the hotel provides a laundry facility for free, exercise room and all kinds of snacks, frozen dinners and breakfasts for a small fee; and free, ground coffee 24 hours a day.

The elevators are the only concern. The one near the lobby is very slow and the one at the end of the hall to the right of the lobby has a tendency to bounce quite a bit as it reaches the floor and stopping. Eek…

Location and commute to Lackland is excellent

Navigation took us to back gate after hours. Security had to come out and redirect us. Maybe signage with directions to FRONT of hotel could be helpful. Also- front sign needs to be raised, or bushes growing in front of sign should be trimmed. Sign is not visible until JUST before turn.

Friendly and polite staff. Free coffee! Communication by texting instead, running to the lobby. I did not like dog friendly people on the fourth floor, where we were staying , too much barking. All dog, friendly motels should have dogs closer to the entrance to defecate outside . The first floor should be dog, friendly guests, and their pets . I don’t feel like we should have to hear barking. There should be a separation of people that need a more quiet sleep up on the fourth floor and third floor.. Dogs react to sound and bark more frequently, I explained this to the front desk and they were sympathetic, but could not make change to accommodate, my request. The walls were not that soundproof . The staff did the best to notify the guests with dogs to quiet down after 9 o’clock But we were here to celebrate my daughter’s graduation from Air Force Boot Camp . We got to see her for three days, but we had to get up at 4 AM and get to the base through security so a good nights sleep was crucial, refreshed and ready for a long day . The pool was cold water. I thought the pool would’ve been heated in April. The pool was a nice size and well-maintained, but it should’ve had a heating system for colder months. My second disappointment was allowing dogs and pets on the top floor for guests who have trouble sleeping and need quiet space to Relax

I recently stayed here and was thoroughly impressed by its proximity to Lackland Air Force Base. As someone with ties to the military, the convenience of being just a stone's throw away from the base was a major plus. This made attending events, visiting loved ones, or simply exploring the area incredibly easy. The hotel's location not only saved me time but also provided a sense of comfort knowing I was close by. Apart from its excellent location, the hotel offered comfortable accommodations and attentive service, making my stay truly enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lackland AFB or the surrounding area.

While my stay here was overall pleasant, I did notice a few minor defects in the rooms such as chipped paint. Additionally, the smell of weed from individuals smoking in the parking lot occasionally wafted into the hotel, which was a bit disappointing. However, despite these issues, the hotel staff were responsive and the amenities were satisfactory, ensuring that my stay was still enjoyable overall.

They accidentally over booked the studio with two queen beds that we had booked ahead of time, but they upgraded our stay in a one bedroom king suite with sofa bed with no extra charge. They charged us the same price as we paid for the studio. It was even better for a family of 4. It was also right in the middle of downtown and sea world so the drive to both wasn’t far at all.

We stayed here for our son’s BMT graduation from Lackland AF Base. The location was extremely close to the Luke Gate and everything about our stay was excellent. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful, our suite was perfect for some down time, the property is secured at night and attention to detail was greatly valued.

It is a lovely place, perfect for people with unusual food restrictions, because we had a great kitchen, so we could cook for ourselves. The room was very big, it was like having our own tiny apartment. It was super clean, quiet, and the staff were very kind and helpful.

The location requires you to have a car, it's very close to the highway. We liked it because we could skip the traffic of the city.

Extremely well maintained hotel. Amenities were great. Staff was great. We were attending the graduation of our granddaughter from Air Force Basic Training and it was very, very convenient to the the base.

The ONLY comment I have is that the front desk is often not manned and you need a bigger sign for the hotel on the US 90 Highway.

The room was spacious, loved the separation of the bedroom and living room. Having utensils and cookware, etc was great. The pantry was a nice addition as well. The amenities were functional and the room was very clean.

The bathroom was not connected to the bedroom and you had to leave the room to get to the bathroom. There was no complimentary breakfast.
