Room was clean.

Overnight parking is too expensive. There is no doorman to help with luggage.

We were treated very well by the entire staff. They were all friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. I was given exceptional treatment by everyone. As a Disabled Veteran, I was treated with exceptional service and kindness from providing me with free valet parking and assistance whenever needed. We were so impressed by our first visit that we plan on using the Gunter hotel as our primary hotel on all future visits to San Antonio.

Nothing … it’s a great hotel at a very reasonable cost 😉

Location very close to the Riverwalk, the Alamo and Legoland Discovery it was our luck that the street up front is having a street art event. The room itself pretty cozy. However the ultimate service came from the valet staff. Our car’s battery died for some reason and the valet staff was quick to assist and brought his car to jump start our car. Kudos for the staffs that assisted

Was initially confused that the charge was higher than what was listed in the booking details. Plus there was another charge in the middle of the night. After checking with the front desk, turns out they’re for deposits. Would have been great if these charges were communicated up front. At least thats what i’m used to.

I love the character and history of the Gunter. The location couldn't be more perfect, especially if you're going to The Majestic. Always clean and the staff....I cannot tell you how thoughtful, kind, and conscientious the entire staff always is . They are a big part of why I continue to look to the Gunter for my stay in San Antonio. Overall, the Gunter is wonderful!

The only complaint that I have is this: The sheets on my bed were BRUTAL...I found it impossible to sleep because they were so rough and scratchy. I even tried the other bed in my room hoping that it had better sheets, but they weren't. PLEASE invest in better quality sheets. I do know that the next time I plan to book a room at the the Gunter, I intend to bring my own sheets. Please consider investing in softer, better-quality sheets.

Location, and the hotel's amazing history!

We booked two rooms and were given rooms on the 8th floor. The Double Room with 2 beds was quite spacious - and perfect for 3 people. The Queen Room for two was quite small, with not a lot of space to move around - especially as my son and his partner had a service dog with them.

I love the character and style of older hotels, and The Gunter did NOT disappoint. The lobby was beautiful, and I appreciated the older doors and the marble thresholds that appeared to be original. Our room was spacious, the high ceilings were fantastic, and onsite parking was worth it. Our favorite thing was the location -- we were able to park our SUV and walk everywhere we needed to go, and the proximity to La Panaderia was great.

The staff and housekeeping. Very polite. Just went to see a concert that Tuesday evening(9-19-23). Enjoyed that we were able walk to the Riverwalk and other nice places around there.

Tried to get a drink there at the bar after seeing our concert. Waited so long and realized that there was only one person working. There were a lot of customers there also. That was the most disappointing thing to have happened to us. We checked out the next morning.

Location was terrific, saw a show at Majestic literally right across the street. And so many places to eat, drink, or shop all within walking distance. Wonderful historical spot.

The only complaint is the street noise was very loud. Even on the 5th floor. Voices, horse buggies, car noise, sirens, you name it. So pack your ear plugs. Noise leveled off about 2 a.m.

Beautiful lobby, architecture throughout hotel, clean. Nice staff. Very nice room.

My friend couldn't park her own car so had to park across the street. The pool/spa was not in service so we would have had to go to a nearby hotel to enjoy. We didn't because of the inconvenience. Our floor's ice maker didn't work so I had to go down a floor every time we needed ice.

I liked the location of the hotel. The hotel was very clean and presentable. I liked the history of the hotel. The bed was comfortable as well.

We didn't like the size of the room which was somewhat small and the bathroom in our room felt cramped. I would say the room was maybe 12x12 at most.
