The location was perfect because it is right at the riverwalk, so we could leave the hotel every day and walk around the city for the attractions and restaurants. The staff were very polite and always ready to help us with any needs.

There were a lot of items in the bathroom for use such as bath salts, making up cleaning wipes, ... We were a little bit afraid to use it and being charged extra for it, but they were for free. I think it could be better to make it clearer to the guest what is charged and what is already included in the bill.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary at the Mokara Hotel in San Antonio, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable and heartfelt stays we’ve ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly special. When we walked into our room, we were greeted with a chilled bottle of champagne on ice, delicious chocolates, and a thoughtful congratulations card a beautiful surprise that truly set the tone for the weekend. Throughout our two-night stay, the service was exceptional. On our first evening, we realized we had accidentally left our wine and champagne in the car. When we mentioned this to the staff, they immediately sent valet down to retrieve it for us and brought it right up to our room—no questions asked and all with a smile. The next day, I left my phone in the car and didn’t realize it until later. The valet found it, turned it in at the front desk, and they promptly called up to let me know it was safe and waiting. That level of care and honesty says everything you need to know about this team. The hotel itself is immaculately maintained, elegant, and full of charm. Every detail, from the décor to the atmosphere, reflects a level of excellence you rarely find. It’s the kind of place you look forward to returning to—and we absolutely will, every time we’re in San Antonio. We also had a wonderful dinner with our kids at the hotel restaurant to continue our anniversary celebration. Our waiter surprised us with two glasses of champagne on the house, and when the chef heard about our anniversary, he personally sent out specialty oysters topped with caviar for us to try. We felt truly pampered. To top it all off, they comped a rich, decadent chocolate lava cake for us at the end of the meal. Every member of the restaurant staff was warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make the evening extra special. We Highly recommend to anyone visiting San Antonio. We can’t wait to come

Elegant location. Ideal for new Air Force graduate. Our son requested a chill place to go off base. So we brought him back to our hotel room where he greatly enjoyed visiting and drinking espresso. It was a safe space amongst a tourist destination. Thank you!

Not being able to utilize the luggage cart when needed (without hotel assistance). Had to wait for an individual from hotel to bring up to room. Not upset at the individual, just disappointed in lack of guest autonomy.

First off the staff is probably the best i have ever interacted with. They make you feel like you are their only concern and they are there to take care of you. They were all very genuine and sincere, and we found that to be very refreshing. As i told the front desk yesterday before checking out, this was th first time in my life that i wanted to write a thank you note to a hotel for their service, it totally made our short stay very memorable. The property is located right on the Riverwalk close to restaurants, and the boat ride. The hotel offers great Spa services, and if you are a guest, use of the saunas and jacuzzi are included in your stay. The Spa area is segregated, ladies and gentlemen have beautiful locker areas with courtesy robes and spa sandals, towels and iced lemon water. We never made it up to the roof to view the pool. We had made dinner reservations and the hotel as a courtesy, drove us to our restaurant, but after a great dinner we made the 8 minute walk back to the hotel. Upon returning to our room, we found that our bed had been straightened up and there was a small platter with great fresh fruit for an evening snack. The room is very well stocked with snacks and beverages, alcohol and non alcohol. If you like wonderful coffee in the morning they have that taken care of with a nice variety of Nespresso and tea. I loved that they have glass expresso cups and stainless spoons, no plastic. Even the glasses in the bathroom were glass. The bathroom is appointed nicely, with a large shower and a jetted tub. The towels are large and thick, the soap and lotion is Nest, very high quality products. Overall, don't pass up the chance to stay at this beautiful hotel, it is a very warm and wonderful experience!!

Upon our checkin, we were greeted by Mechole, and she was very informative and so kind. I don't remember the valet gentleman name (heavy guy) his service was dynamic. I wasn't expecting him to bring bags to the room and get them set up in accessible areas. The salt water pool. The complimentary spa area! They provide robe and slippers. The complimentary welcome fruit! We went for rest- relax- recharge time, and the tub was definitely a wonderful addition to that. We have a garden tub at home. But being able to be away and enjoying it with your kids - without work demands - it was a PLUS! Riverwalk access is a plus - once you hit the Riverwalk, go right, and you will run into some bomb restaurant options. The balcony.... even in the midst of the Texas Summer, I enjoyed sitting and sipping my coffee in the morning and champage in the evening. The hotel room also has a mini bar!

I don't have any complaints about my stay here.

We had breakfast on Dec 4, 2024 and we had the most wonderful wait person. Her name is April and she went above and beyond to provide us with great service and a friendly experience. She actually tried to find out the brand name of the silver ware we were using ( I was so impressed with the silverware). She brightened our day with her smile. I hope they pay her well, she is a true asset to the Mokara.

It was a little bit chilly in the restaurant but the hostess did close the riverwalk doors and that helped.

This gem on the Riverwalk is a true treasure. The building was originally a saddle shop, and the lobby tastefully provides a tribute to its history. And now it’s a wonderful boutique hotel in a vibrant city! The rooms are exquisite getaways, each with a spacious bathroom that includes a shower and a tub with jets. I really appreciate the fruit delivery in the evenings and the spa. The hotel is located on a quiet street but right above the Riverwalk and close to everything.

The 4 pm check-in time and 11 am check-out time can make a short stay seem even shorter.

Everything from the friendliness of the valet, park here to the amazing beauty of my room. I walked in and quiet, peaceful nature music was on on the TV, my ice bucket was already filled with ice, and there was a fruit tray waiting for me. I decided to order dinner, and although it was quite pricey ($50 for a scallop meal and a $25 room service fee) it was an amazing experience for my pallet. After a long day’s drive, it was a nice oasis to come to.

Unfortunately getting to it was quite difficult because I chose to arrive on December 23 and there was a lot of holiday activity on the Riverwalk. I have not been down to breakfast yet, but based on the pictures and last night’s dinner experience, I’m sure it will be amazing! The other thing I was not pleased with, was not being able to have easy access to my car. They said I could contact the valet and they could bring me anything I need out of my car, but I felt awkward, asking them to do that, so I just went without. Also make sure that you get a room that does not face the parking garage in the street. I didn’t even open my curtains because that was what my view was. If you can afford it, get a room with a Riverwalk view.

location was perfect with access to Riverwalk and close to other popular attractions. Rooftop pool is a great amenity, always clean with hooded towels. gym was one of the best. appreciated the cold water bottles and WSJ available every morning. the bathroom was very large and we enjoyed the large bathtub and bath salts that were laughed or are used. Personal hygiene products such as soaps, shampoos, and conditioners were top-of-the-line. The breakfast food allowance was more than adequate for each person and the food was delicious. We would've appreciated coffee available in the lobby every morning. And we were traveling with our two granddaughters and therefore had to get a room with two double beds. The beds were quite small and my husband and I found it a little difficult to sleep through the night. But the room could not accommodate any larger beds. 

Location, location, location! Staff were all very friendly and helpful and love that the hotel is pet friendly. Our room overlooked the Riverwalk and it was perfect location for restaurants and just walking up and down the Riverwalk. Also very easy walk to the Alamo.
