Check in was friendly and efficient, room was quiet and comfortable, pool and hot tub clean & well stocked with towels, but the main highlight of this hotel was the amazing happy hour food and beverages, as well as the morning breakfast buffet that was included and since there was 7 of us, made the hotel room practically free! They had a popcorn machine that was hot and ready to go by 4:30, and at 5 Happy hour food "appetizers" were served Buffet style, and was actually a full on meal of BBQ pork sliders, mac and cheese, coleslaw, salad and a nacho bar! Room included 2 free drinks from the bar per adult, and the soda machine was available for the kids. Breakfast in the am was just as plentiful and a great variety there as well! Truly a 5 star hotel experience! Bonus was the River Walk was right there, and the walk to the Alamo was 3 minutes!

If you drove there, Be prepared for a $39.00 charge to park your car, on top of the room charge.

Location is the best. Right on the Riverwalk. The breakfast buffet and the 5:30 kickback is awesome. A+. There is plenty of space in our room with great views of downtown and the Riverwalk. The valets were very prompt in retrieving our car and very courteous.

The weather was cold and gloomy but that's beyond the Drurys control.

The Drury was so nice and clean! The breakfast bar and happy hour snacks had something for everyone! The hotel was in a great location for the riverwalk. I would definitely recommend staying here!

The countertop was a little small for the size of the bathroom, but that's just my opinion, and I definitely wouldn't let that stop me from staying there!

All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made a big difference. The lobby is absolutely fantastic—a beautiful, historic space with lots of charm. And the location is excellent—just a quick 2-minute walk to the River Walk. The valet parking service was awesome—fast, friendly, and super helpful every time.

The free breakfast and afternoon snack are a nice touch, though the food quality was just average. One thing to note, no complimentary bottled water was provided in the room. My room was close to the elevator, which made it a bit noisy at times. The entry door to our unit made a very strange, loud noise whenever nearby doors were shut—it honestly sounded like someone was trying to open our door, which was a little unsettling.

The staff at this location is exceptional, they restored my faith in humanity for sure! I was visiting my grandson during my stay. He had a medical issue crop up and I needed to get a few things for him but didn't want to leave him alone. I spoke with an agent, Julie Ann about the situation. She relayed the information to the manager, Vanessa. They sent me back to my room to be with my grandson, Vanessa took my shopping list herself and went to the store. Then they had it sent up to my room! To top off their generosity, they would not accept money for my purchase. Later in the afternoon we needed more assistance. Once again they jumped into action, called for emergency help, sent another manager to our room to wait with me for the medics and to offer his assistance. Their kind assistance was appreciated during our crisis.

My husband and I booked this hotel for our anniversary and really enjoyed our stay. The price was great for everything that was included! The inside lobby of the hotel is beautiful! We loved that the location was close to everything! We parked our car and walked the entire weekend. Also there was a nice breakfast and dinner included for everyone and a complimentary drink coupon for those over 21 also included with our stay. In the basement there is a small history trail with past pictures of the building and the original elevator. It was really nice to see. All of the staff was friendly and helpful!! The hotel was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to others!

I only have 2 complaints, the elevators were so slow at times but it is a fairly nice size hotel and it was a weekend with a lot of people, and it took a little time for the water in our room to get hot.

The area is half way between the market square or Alamo/Mall. Great walking distance to each attraction. Then bottom floor has great access to the river walk. Which if you continue to the north around the corner. Multiple businesses… even manage to catch the parade .. the breakfast/kickback meals were good!! Over all love staying here…. Will be back again in July for another week.

Just trying to hurry downstairs to make it in time for my pet to use the restroom…. Other than that, it’s really hard to find something not to like about it. Over all was GREAT!!!!

Historical and beautifully restored hotel right on the river walk in very close proximity to the "loop" where many restaurants and shops, as well as the mall are located! Free breakfasts daily, a happy hour with snacks nightly - add to that ornate, attentive and caring team members, and festive ambiance, helps to make the Drury Plaza Hotel on San Antonio's Riverwalk - exceptional!!!!!!!

I have nothing to add here regarding things we "did not like". Again as shared, from check-in to check-out our stay was top tier, we'd stay and will stay here again! If however I could make an aesthetic change - it would be that you have a very welcoming and open lobby surrounding be ornate trim, why not provide for something that era on the very white open ceiling? I reference the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee Wisconsin - if not familiar, please take a look. The white ceiling needs a "pop" to pull everything together and put a ribbon on the "ooooh and ahhh" already happening when you walk into the main Drury Lobby.

The hotel was originally an old bank so there is plenty of charm and character. It is located right on the River Walk and close to everything you need. Many tourist attractions are within walking distance! The food for breakfast and dinner are a plus especially if you are feeding a family. Rachel was so nice every morning when we would arrive for breakfast. She would put a smile on the face of all the people in the dining space. The room was very comfortable with plenty of space.

There wasn't any hot water when we tried to shower. Maintenance was quick to respond and told us the 'trick' to turn on the sink faucet while showering and it would block the cold water to the shower head. It worked! Seems like a poor design and a waste of water.

THE HOTEL EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTIONS. The staff are the reason. I have never encountered staff so friendly in a personal way. Not because they were told to be nice to the guests. They really cared that you were enjoying yourself. They were proud of their hotel. The included breakfast and dinner were good but not spectacular but the staff made them special. The buffet was NEVER messy. The food looked good and was plentiful. I had never stayed at a Drury before but will look for the hotel chain in the future. The San Antonio location was perfect.

The popcorn could have been fresher.
