A place where old world charm meets elegants. I cannot say enough about how great our stay was. The staff was so friendly and amazing. We have never stayed anywhere that has rteated us as if we were the most important guests. Mary, at the front desk was so welcoming and accommodating. She made us feel as if no request is unreasonable. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Let me add, breakast was very nice and informal its presented in a picnic basket sent to your room or enjoy it in the dining room. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing, expertly prepared and presented. 5stars

Our stay was just to brief.

Great location, very friendly staff, easy parking, and access to multiple mountains for skiing. The town center is a short drive or about a 20-30 minute walk (in the snow). Additionally, multiple restaurants and bars are just a few minutes' walk away. It was a perfect short, cozy stay. The suite had plenty of room. It was definitely a little dated, but that's the feel we were looking for—comfortable and cozy! We loved having a fireplace in the room that was a huge bonus!

The breakfast basket was a cute idea- I just wish they had a hot vegan option! WiFi wasn't great but that wasn't an issue since we were there to relax and disconnect.

Mary, who greeted us at check in, was incredible. She gave us lots of information on the history of Manchester and its buildings. She immediately felt like a friend! We enjoyed having breakfast in our room, but found it mediocre. The same breakfast sandwich each of our two mornings was disappointing. The first morning it was overcooked and dry. I could not imagine having that same breakfast choice if we had been there more than 2 days. The hotel is in a great location, with a short walk to the village.

The Reluctant Panther is a beautiful small hotel with wonderful staff. We were upgraded to a suite upon arrival to a beautiful room with a gas burning fireplace. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. The location was perfect in the center of the historic section of Manchester, VT which was nice for walking after breakfast and close to area restaurants. Also, we loved our picnic basket breakfast that we had in the dining room. Our meals were delicious and we'd like to try having dinner there when we visit another time.

I can't think of anything. We will definitely return.

We stayed at the Reluctant Panther for just one night -- a little mid winter getaway. The gas fireplace in our first room was having some mechanical issues so the staff upgraded us to a suite. Such a treat to play cards on the couch in front of the gas fireplace and take a jacuzzi tub before climbing into the huge comfy bed. Great breakfast in the restaurant. We could have chosen to have it delivered to our room. All in all, a wonderful winter respite!

Breakfast boxes fine. Decent selection. Timely delivery.

TV is horrible. Small screen and SD reception. Better to have no TV. Really a detriment especially during period of national crises. Also I found mattress very uncomfortable but spouse found very comfortable… So ?? Air Conditioner noisy and takes some time to get acclimated to the noise.

The hotel location is very nice convenient to Hildene and the Lye brook falls as well as amenities in Manchester. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nice and was provided in a picnic basket which we were able to take on the patio.

I wish that there were more options for breakfast or at least a rotation of items. We stayed three days and had the same thing each day except for the bakery item which changed each day.

Reluctant Panther exceeded our expectations in every way. We had a rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks event for a wedding and the food was delicious, staff friendly and accommodating in all our requests and the location perfect. The rooms are spacious and beautiful! Breakfast in the morning offered in your room or in the dining area was also a treat!

We very much enjoyed our stay at TRP. The hotel staff is kind and attentive, our room was very spacious and super comfortable. The surroundings are quiet and relaxing. The garden and patio offer beautiful vistas of the hilly backdrop. I put “only” 8/10 stars here because we were a bit disappointed by the food options. The breakfast-in-a-basket idea is neat and fun, but what’s inside needs to be ramped up in terms of quality and originality to be on par with standing expectations. We also thought the food and ambiance of the restaurant could be much better, to match or surpass the excellence of other options around, again, for this level of standing. Will we go back? Certainly yes!

The room was great - large and comfortable, with a fun two way fire place that made it feel very cozy. The breakfast was fine - served in a hamper with nice choices (although there could have been a bit more food). The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

The breakfast seemed more limited in quantity than in most hotels or inns. (but the quality was fine).
