It was clean, friendly staff, good space, spacious bathroom, easy check in, continental breakfast, Good location right off the highway for our travels.

There was a deceased bird on the window sill that looks like it had been there for quite some time. There was some show of wear in the room in the bathroom. Part of the sink edging was missing.

Good location, easy to get to, and the breakfast was good.

There was a pool but it wasn’t open because it was over chlorinated. They didnt even offer any kind if discount since the pool was closed. For breakfast they didn’t offer pancakes because i think the pancake maker thing was broke.

Pillows too plushy, wrapped around my head as we sunk too far in. Could use upgrade in mattress to memory foam Tempurpedic or similar.

Unexpectedly excellent breakfast - as good as we had all week - looked after by a wonderful lady. Nice room with good facilities and decent wifi. Comfortable and quiet.

No good restaurants within walking distance and didn't feel like driving after spending all day in the car.

Breakfast was great. Hotel was a little tricky to find. Safest shower ever. Loved the grab bars and shower chair. Handicapped friendly.

The fruit selection could have been better. No bananas were available. The staff member made us feel like we needed to hurry. She closed one of the doors to breakfast 15 minutes before it was supposed to be over.

I’m quite glad that many hotels are refurbishing their rooms with modern furnitures and fixtures. Holiday Inn Express Hillsville is certainly on board: my room had a modern desk set, a futuristic touch control desk lamp, a reading nook with an overhead lamp in the corner, an LG TV, remote-controlled window shades, legion USB ports — in addition to the standard fares like a mini fridge, a microwave, and a safe. More importantly, this was a fantastic value for the cost, and it hit all the right spots: quiet, clean, comfortable (I slept like a king on a king size bed), and nice staff. Great lodgings for respite if one happens to be driving the length of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
