the pool indoor and outdoor was nice, the quietness of the place. I also liked how friendly the staff was. The rooms felt very spacious and open. The shower was extremely nice and big. I loved the fact that we could park right by our room and didn't have a very far walk to get into the hotel.

the only thing I did not like was that it said the outdoor pool would be open until 10 PM but it was closed by 7, which made my daughter upset, lol. But other than that, it was a nice quiet stay.

Bathroom sink in room 3106 needs drain cleaner! Walls or connecting door must be thin - we heard neighbor’s bed squeaking and/or hitting the wall multiple times 😳, could also hear noises. Strange smell when we entered building 3 - could’ve very well been someone’s smoking something?! It was just in the first hall we walked down. A little much to have to walk from main building to another (outside, but covered) building to get to room, but also kindof cool for a change. But of a “dog smell” outside along the way. Room was very nice, but not sure the mattress was comfortable (we stayed only one night) and pillows (4 per bed!) are super heavy and smushy. AC was a little loud (but nice white noise - see above LOL).

It was the perfect escape. The breakfast was incredible and the room was comfortable. Lots of space to just relax and explore. The Spa was THE BEST!

We came a few weeks before Memorial Day so it was a little disappointing the shuttle to the beach wasn’t available. They only provided decaf tea in our rooms which wasn’t interesting. It would be nice to have access to a little tea or coffee spot on the main floor all day instead of having to rely on the opening hours of the restaurant.

We stayed here for the third time, and it won't be our last. The grounds are gorgeous (it is a popular wedding location for good reason), the rooms are very comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the amenities are enjoyable (indoor and outdoor pools, fitness studio, spa). Free parking and a good location between Virginia Beach and Norfolk make day excursions uncomplicated and convenient. I can't understand the negative reviews. Perhaps people see the name 'Hilton' behind the hotel and have absurd expectations. No, it isn't perfect, but let's say 90% and at a price that you can't argue with.

The building is clearly older, which gives the hotel a lot of charm. But it also means that not everything is state-of-the-art.

room location and settings to welcome you with my dog and the facilities restaurant , park and pools to use. Best of it the shuttle service from the hotel to th e beach so no need to worry about parking fees by the boardwalk and enjoy the beach with no stress

the loud noise coming from HVAC /AC room sometimes

The staff was friendly and helpful; the food was very good; the response to our pet -- a large-ish dog -- was positive and the facilities for her were very nice.

There was nothing we didn't like, although the guestrooms might benefit from a refresh in the coming years,

It is beautiful and has a wonderful layout.

I did not realize that I would need to walk to a separate building to reach the spa and pool. In warm weather, this would be perfectly fine, but I do wish I had known before booking so would have been mentally prepared.

Outdoor and indoor pool

The pool deck was not cleaned daily so there was food and belongings around from the day before. I believe we stayed during the opening weekend so perhaps the cleaning crew schedule had not been worked out yet because the rest of the property is so well maintained

Breakfast was awesome, rm. was very comfortable & clean, (altho' no king rooms were available at check-in)

Spa tub is not in working order & staff do not know when it will be repaired. This would have made my stay top-notch! Please make this a priority, as I plan to return in June w/ friends who would al enjoy it as well!

The breakfast buffet was great. Pancakes need to be on the menu. Kids and adults love pancakes.

The carpet in out room was tired. Needed an update. Maybe some tea or coffee at 5pm in the rooms/ area around the checkin area would be great. Those room are so relaxing at any time.
