I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Silver Cloud Hotel Waterfront in Tacoma, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with warm, friendly faces that instantly made us feel at home. The lobby itself was elegant and welcoming, setting the tone for the entire stay. After driving 14 hours for a family emergency, we were looking for a place to unwind, and the comfort of our room exceeded all expectations. It was spacious, spotless, and equipped with everything we needed to feel at ease. What truly set this hotel apart, though, was the breathtaking view. The scenic vistas of Tacoma and the bay were simply mesmerizing—an unexpected but much-needed source of tranquility during such a stressful time. The occasional train passing by added a charming touch to the experience, as the rhythmic sound created a serene and unique ambiance that felt truly special. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Greg, in particular, stood out for his kindness and generosity. His attentiveness was deeply appreciated, and he made sure our stay was as smooth and pleasant as possible. This stay provided the comfort and care we so desperately needed, and we are grateful for the Silver Cloud Hotel Waterfront’s impeccable service and accommodations. The view from our 3rd floor room was excellent. It was a total view of Tacoma bay that came with beautiful sunrises. The size of the room was average although the furnishings and style was very upscale. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the offering changed every other day. The were complimentary snacks and beverages available after breakfast hours. There were also a restaurants nearby within walking distance and one offered a discount for Tacoma Waterfront guests.

The worst- they charge $16 per day for parking. Nothing special, just the spaces surrounding the hotel, most were uncovered, and all was not secure. Why charge the fee? Love it or hate it- train tracks are right across the street and arrive and depart at all hours. I for one loved it because there is nothing like that in my home town. You might find it obtrusive you're tired hearing train horns all the time.

Loved the beautiful water view of the bay, the professional staff, the hot breakfast, the clean room, and comfortable bed. I felt like we were in luxury the moment we entered the hotel lobby through our clean and comfortable room, and amazing views. The breakfast was great, with lots of healthy and yummy choices of waffles, egg scrambles, sides, and drinks. They even wrap up the baked goods so you can have a treat for later throughout the day.

The fireplace in the lobby wasn't working, but that wasn't a big deal, since we enjoyed the comfort of our room.

Staff was wonderful! Room was beautiful and clean, and beds were very comfortable. The view was absolutely beautiful... On site parking at a reasonable cost was appreciated, albeit a little snug for our personal vehicle. Grounds and promenade were lovely.

Unfortunately, and this is nothing the staff nor location could do anything about, the freight trains and their signaling systems (horns) were going off hourly for the entire evening. We unfortunately did not get a restful sleep. Also, while my husband stated that breakfast was good, he also stated it was cold. Which was unfortunate because he was one of the first persons down to the lobby for breakfast.

The fact I came from out of town to take my two little ones to the local zoo for the frist time . I slightly expressed that to the manger who helped me and she upgraded our room so my kiddos had a pull out queen sized bed and own little area in the room that just made there experience along with mine there ten times better. My kids had so much for having own bed with own t.v and own area made the stay there special. She was a good lady and welcoming us. We thank you and the staff for out experience at ypur hotel.

Nothing we enjoyed everything and the whole staff was amazing!

The views are amazing - we chose to bring food with us so we could enjoy not having to leave the room at all. We had one of the premium spa rooms - although the price is higher than we would normally spend it was an amazing stay-cation and we will definitely do this again for special occasion or just to reboot within our busy lives.

included movie options - from what I saw everything was for an additional fee. For the cheaper rooms maybe that makes sense but in purchasing the most expensive room I would have expected to be able to watch a movie as well. But we planned ahead and brought our iPad so it did not effect our stay,

Very quiet for sleeping! Outstanding quality and variety for breakfast, and a lovely room to eat in. Check-in and check-out staff were very helpful and efficient. Provision for handicapped parking near the door. Plenty of paid parking available. Close to wonderful seafood restaurants.

The temperpedic mattresses and pillows were very hot, and we had to leave the air conditioning on at night or we would wake up too hot. Also a little hard to move around on the mattress, but once settled, comfortable.

Staff and facilities are exceptional. Despite the number of occupants this is the quietest hotel I have ever stayed at. Being able to walk the waterfront is an added bonus. Restaurants in the area are also exceptional. No complaints at all about the facilities or staff. NOTE: this hotel does not have a hot tub as some have posted, there are rooms with jacuzzi tubs but those are not hot tubs.

I booked through booking.com at the rate of $261.64, there was a parking fee of $15 posted at the parking entrance. Despite this my credit card was charged $378.29, that is $116.65 over the price I booked for. At this price point I would have stayed with another hotel or stayed at the new silver cloud and enjoyed the additional amenities like the hot tub, pool, fire pit, spa, valet parking, etc.

The rooms and property were great! Location was perfect. The hot breakfast was really nice, lots to choose from. I will stay there again, just on the west side of the building.

Nothing they can do about the train horn. Horn is actually a speaker system at an intersection to the east of the property. The speaker sounds horrible, the actual train horn would have been much better. The speaker horns are the WORST.

I thought the motel itself, the room and the cleanliness was exceptional.

When I booked my reservation at booking.com I booked a room at one price but when I got there they said it was $30 more because I had not booked the proper rooms. When I told them what booking.com had they said that must’ve been a mistake. So to get the room I wanted I paid the extra $30. I do not feel that was right to advertise one thing and charge me for another. Also, Having to pay for parking at a motel you are staying at is wrong.
