Friendly staff when checking into the lobby. Also visited the lobby after forgetting my key card in the room, quick service and friendly. Entering the MainStay entrance, it smelled clean. Same experience when entering the hotel room. The room was already cold when entering, which is nice. Clean bathroom, comfortable bed. Good sized room, with a full-sized refrigerator. Used the pool a couple times, it was clean. The hot tub was very frothy/bubbly. One of the two splash features was working. Overall I’d say it was an 8/10 for the pool area. Breakfast had scrambled eggs, sausage links, a couple waffle makers, fresh fruit, and your standard cereal, yogurt, bagels/pastry case. It was enough to hold us over until lunch, and the area was clean. There are stores under 10 minutes, the hotel is close to the highway, and everything I had planned for my visit was under a 20 minute drive. It was nice being on the outskirts of Madison.

I always stay here when I come to Madison now. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. There is a pool and hot tub that my niece and nephew can enjoy while I visit with my brother and sister-in-law. The linens are so luxurious, I look forward to sleeping in the super comfortable bed. I actually pulled up the sheets this time to see what brand and model the mattress was because I want one for home. When your hotel bed is more comfortable than your own bed, that's saying something. They provide you with a ton of pillows as well. The towels are fluffy and clean and the bedding is amazing. I can't wait to slide into bed and sleep like a brick when I stay here. I have arthritis in all of my joints and spondylolisthesis in my back, plus I'm a side sleeper so my shoulders take a beating. I always wake up refreshed and without the typical aches and pains that normally plague me. That's worth the 15-20 minutes to get to campus when I am down visiting my kid. The breakfast is some grab and go, but also waffles and hot offerings. You can get some yogurt and fresh fruit. They offer coffee that's decent and juice, milk, etc. Pretty much something for everyone.

I did notice that the paint was peeling pretty significantly above the AC unit in the bedroom. And there is always a wet dirt smell from the sink drain when I stay here. Not sure what that's about but since I don't drink the water, I'm not too concerned. The water itself, smells fine. When my kid stays with us, and sleeps on the sofa bed, they say it's not super comfortable but what sofa bed is?

Beds are super comfy and luxurious. The linens are exceptional. So many pillows. Super quiet. Easy access to room, with elevators to upper floors. The price for Madison area is extremely reasonable, especially compared to hotels close to campus. I paid over twice the price for a smaller room, to be a few blocks from my kids' dorm, at another hotel. After that, I will always stay here for the value. Plus, it's safer.

I always notice a wet dirt type smell when I run water in the bathroom drain, every time I stay here. Not sure what that is about but I don't drink the water from the tap anyway. The paint was also peeling away from the wall above the AC unit in the bedroom. The area is quiet because of being on the edge of Monona. This is not an issue for me but for someone visiting the UW, it may be inconvenient. I like it and prefer not to be right in the city of Madison. Also, the trade off in price for the added distance is worth it.

Nikki who worked at the front desk around 2 am on October 6th was phenomenal. She is extremely kind, helpful, and professional. She went out of her way and went above and beyond to help my friend and I, and I think She is an amazing part of your team. I would love to see more people like Nikki. She Truly contributed to our overall satisfaction with the hotel. She deserves some sort of recognition or a bonus. She also takes pride in enforcing the rules and the quiet hours in a very respectful way. Super professional employee

No oven in room but no big deal because there was an oven downstairs

Breakfast is waffles, eggs, pastries, bagels, muffins, yogurt, cereal, bananas, oranges, apples, coffee, milk and juice. The rooms are large and well stocked for an extended stay. I was in a king room with kitchenette. The refrigerator is good sized. There was a toaster in the room. The room also has a cooktop and a dishwasher. The sofa bed is reasonably comfortable. The beds are very comfortable. Medium firm. Nice linens.

We had a three day stay. I noticed a moldy smell in the sink in the bathroom, every time I ran water. By the night of day two, the sink wasn't draining and had standing water. The guy at the front desk was really nice about it but there wasn't much he could do except offer us a different room. The new room was the same, just down the hall. Apart from the inconvenience of having to move rooms, everything was great. Also, the dump bucket for the water feature in the pool wasn't working and I don't think it has been each of the three times we've stayed but I can't be certain. I've not seen it running but this trip was the first time we tried to turn it on.

Mainstay Suites was clean and very comfortable. It was handy to have the kitchen, dishes, paper towels, etc. Every staff member we met was incredibly friendly and helpful. Because of our schedule and commitments, we did not partake in breakfast, but it looked great each day! The heating/cooling system was very efficient and worked great, and the king bed was quite comfy. Shower was always hot and consistent. We LOVED that the whole facility is 100% non-smoking.

The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. Room size was very nice.

The staff was not very friendly. The pool was so over chlorinated that the kids were getting rashes all over their skin and your eyes burned just walking into the pool area. Asked staff for more pool towels and they didn’t have any clean and the front desk guy said they(people in pool) would have to drip dry. Not very safe for their tiled areas to be all wet and have someone slip. It was disappointing to not be able to use the pool area because the unventilated and high chlorine levels.

Our accommodations were very comfortable and clean. There were work crews staying there and this hotel would be perfect for that as the room had a kitchenette and separate bedroom. There was very little noise, either in the hallway or shared walls.

Our room had a remote control missing for the television in the living room space. We did have a remote in the bedroom but it didn't operate the other TV. It wasn't a huge problem but something overlooked.

Loved the rooms, the parking was great. Very clean hotel. Nice shower, towels. Excellent. Fast elevator, nice stairway. Little kitchen in the room was so great. Just loved it.

The breakfast area was too crowded. Coffee area was too congested. Coffee machine should be in a different area. Maybe over near the TV in the other end of the room. Would be nice to have large water dispenser, so we can fill our to-go cups.

This place is great, I never thought it was so clean and cozy. The reception and cleaning employees are very friendly and efficient and the facilities are great. This place exceeded my expectations and I hope it never changes. Its cleanliness and strict rules make it a place you want to be, safe for the whole family. . I will definitely return soon! The girl who greeted me at the reception was very kind and very helpful. Her name is Nukari and I want to highlight how great she was!
