Nice room. Nothing too elaborate. "Lake view" meant having to go onto the balcony, turn right and view the partially-obstructed lake.

Not happy with the shuttle service. They got us to our destination, but said they were "too busy" when we called for a ride back to the hotel. And the across-the-street parking situation is not exactly ideal. Signage to and from is poor and you're a ways away from your vehicle. Don't forget anything - it's a hike to get back there.

The view of the capital was a bonus. The staff was very helpful in providing maps of downtown and the parking areas around the Overture center and an attraction in the center which we attended to fill the time between our event and hotel checkout.

The parking fee I was told would be on our bill, but was not and when we left the parking lot we had to pay on the way out. We had to go back and verify the parking was not charged at the hotel.

It’s a beautiful property in a great setting. Well maintained and clean. Nice bathroom and layout of our room.

The layout of the buildings is incredibly confusing. Our room was very clean but the bed was made up with only white sheets and it sits on top of a basic platform. Lacked any added touch from pillows or a foot spread. Looked like a no frills, budget hotel bed. Also the toilet had an issue on arrival but that was attended to and rectified quickly. On the first morning, we realized our coffee make didn’t work. They sent a pot of coffee and said it would be replaced later in the day which was great. Unfortunately the next morning we realized they hadn’t replaced the coffee maker. I texted and after 40 minutes…no coffee maker. I asked again and then someone brought it.

The view was amazing. The room was a little older feeling, but very clean and added to the charm of the place.

There are no complaints about the property. The screen door on our balcony door was broken when we arrived, staff offered to fix right away. We did decline as we had no use for the screen during our stay and it didn’t take away from the experience one bit.

I stay at this hotel a few times a year when we come and visit our kids at UW. Best hotel in Madison, and one of my favorites in the US. Rooms and large and elegant on the beautiful lake. Doesn’t get much better than that! Thank you Edwater and staff for another amazing experience.

Not a single thing

The front desk agent was super professional, quick and efficient. she had us checked in less than 2 minutes and was very polite and friendly. We were very impressed at her passion and professionalism.

We liked everything and have nothing at all to complain about.

The “text” updates weren’t synced with the actual hotel. Said the restaurant in the other building was open and after walking the tunnel over to it only to find out that it was closed. Not a big deal but not easy to get to.

It’s situated in a beautiful location, and the facilities are amazing if the layout is a little tough to navigate. But worth it, because the rooms are impeccable.

Likely due to large bookings, it seemed much more expensive than the last time we were there. Also, while room service has an amazing breakfast, there aren’t dining options to sit before 11, like there used to be.

The resort facilities onsite make it easy to relax and the bathrooms are nice - not cramped like many places.

I miss the earlier breakfast dining option. Last time I had a salmon eggs benedict that I still talk about. I get up earlier than my family so I usually eat alone - room service is great, but just not an option at that time.

wonderful, cheerful welcoming looking place to arrive after a long day's drive. arrived to lighted trees and the ice rink in full swing. huge room, double balconies looking over the lake with doors you could throw open for fresh air. within view of the capital building. friendly staff. good room service.
