I needed to stop in Wausau on a long trip and opted for this lovely place over the chain hotels. Set in a beautiful wood on the slope of Rib Mountain with more character than any other Wausau hotel offers. More of a well-maintained cabin in the woods than a motel. I booked a larger room this time and it was perfect for a night or two.

I hate roku TV, not least because it is difficult to access local news compared with regular cable. A major storm was heading though and I needed to get some information for onward travel and needed to search the internet via i-phone. A small thing and did not detract from my stay.

We were there for a wedding, which meant that our timing did not match with the hotel's standards. The manager (Barbara) was very communicative and helpful in getting our rooms ready early and ensuring the elderly with us didn't have to navigate smartphone apps to get in. Taylor at the front desk was friendly and very helpful to all family members. And, even the cleaning staff arranged their tasks to ensure we could enter and get ready for our important event.

Nothing.

We stopped at the Inn on our way from Lake Superior to Madison. Since it was summer, the Inn was far from full, but we received great friendly service both in the evening and in the morning. The Inn is clearly run by people who care. The breakfast exceeded our expectations. The Inn is on a quiet street, and our room had a balcony facing the woods. We didn't get a chance to use it, but it looked perfect to hang out. We forgot our toiletries in the bathroom, and Barbara nicely mailed them to us in Madison. If we ever need to stay in Wausau again, it will be at Rib Mountain Inn!

What a beautiful and cute Inn. Everything was so clean, great, and wonderful. We loved staying in the studio it had everything we needed for our stay. It was warm outside when we stayed otherwise we would of definitely used the fireplace but loved sitting outside relaxing with a bonfire we had which was perfect. Such a Perfect place glad we found your Inn. The staff was so wonderful and helpful on everything. The breakfast was great especially like u can make your own waffles and a good variety of different breakfast foods. Thanks again for wonderful stay and great service. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there u won't be disappointed. Will be telling people about this great beautiful Inn.

The rooms were really clean, the staff were extremely helpful particularity considering it was a business trip. The breakfast was decent as well, with a cozy dining area. Wide selection of coffee and tea. Quiet affluent residential section. Will definitely consider going here again!

The room had A/C off by default, not normally a problem but the room felt "not dry" for some time, longer than anticipated. It was a little bit far from town as well, not awful by any means by car, but there's nothing immediate around the hotel.

The huge tub in the room made up for the hot tub being out of service. Would definitely book a room there again. Very close to all the shopping I needed to do. The price for the room was very reasonable too.

Was hoping for the outdoor hot tub to be working. Breakfast was okay. Yogurt was outdated and no danishes plus very limited fresh fruit. The kitchen in the room could use a couple mixing bowls.

We have an annual get-together with some of my high school friends every year and we meet in Wausau because it's a central location. We used to stay at a different place, but that hotel is now closed, so we gave the Rib Mountain Inn a try. It's delightful. The inn primarily serves skiers at Granite Peak during the season, but it's a nice spot tucked into a high-end residential neighborhood; it's cozy, less than 20 rooms, and you do have some stairs to navigate, but they're quite upfront about that, so we were not concerned. We had two rooms and they were both comfortable; one of the rooms had a kitchenette and a nice table that made it possible to sit down and have snacks and beverages right in the room. It's exceptionally quiet; no traffic noise or other distractions. They had a simple but adequate breakfast selection and all the coffee we wanted. We even worked in a game of cribbage while we ate. We'll definitely be back!

Everything was good.

The location was awesome with a beautiful woodsy environment and a cute little Trail for a walk. The beds were super comfortable and we really enjoyed the little deck for coffee in the morning

I did not like that the hot tub was closed when we got there. I wish hotels, in general, would tell you this when booking. It is one of the things that I look for when we book a room.

We selected The Rib Mountain Inn as we had made last minute plans to be in Wausau. The price was very economical and we knew the neighborhood the hotel lies in.(very safer) The downstairs main room is very large & has an “Up North” feeling. Our room was spacious and clean. You have to understand this is not a modern hotel, rather a neighborhood hidden gem. Nice walking path leading to a ski hill next to the property line. Staff so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are a bit aged but met our needs. I’d highly recommend this spot when in Wausau.

Overall we enjoyed our 2 days at The Rib Mountain Inn. We had a light go out in the room and I told the facility and they were going to fix right away. The light went out the morning we left so didn’t impact our stay.

Location was great. Its sort of off the highway and the place is so comfortable and homey. Most staff were super nice and helped with extra towels when needed. Breakfast was good, they have breakfast sandwiches and an oatmeal bar along with bagels and waffles. Coffee, cappuccino and hot chocolate until 10pm is awesome! We will definitely stay here again but will pay the extra for the fireplace/couch and bar area room. We saw them when we were leaving and they look so nice and even more spacious! It's great that every room has a balcony area to sit outside. They do have a sauna and washer and dryer available.

Wish I would have known the hot tub was having maintenance though as that wasn't posted on the website and it was out of order all 4 days we were there.
