The ship was amazing. An older style renovated cruise with a lovely nostalgic atmosphere. It had much more character and charm than the newer style cruise liners. Everything was clean and comfortable with sizeable balconies in all rooms to watch the beautiful scenery. A lovely spa and a large top deck to watch the sunrise and sunset with cocktails. The food was great, nice and fresh and a good variety of Western and Vietnamese options. I stayed for two nights which I recommend. The full day spent on an excursion on the second day was fabulous, with bike riding, kayaking and also swimming in a secluded location were we could jump off the deck of the boat and swim to a lovely beach with no other boats. This is not an option if you only stay for one night. The staff were brilliant! So attentive to every need and also made adaptions for allergies/intolerances. Huong (Brian) was fantastic and took care of our every need over the 3 days. Thank you Huong!
I loved everything.

Comfortable bed and well organised
Doris cruise left a review on their own Booking page on our behalf without our permission. We were going to leave a positive review anyway but the fact they impersonated us has soured the stay a bit. How many other reviews have been left like that?

Absolutely amazing! All the staff were exceptional but especially Jessica and Brian. Brian was wonderful with my 9 year old, especially while on the bike ride to Viet Hai village. Food was delicious with plenty of options. We did the 2 night cruise which meant we weren’t as rushed and were able to relax and enjoy the scenery, especially in the jacuzzi. We kayaked and swam, had some cooking demonstrations and also did squid fishing where both my boys were lucky to catch a squid. It was just a wonderful experience and would highly recommend.

The rooms are very spacious and the view is amazing—even from the bathroom! Each family is assigned a personal waiter, which was incredibly helpful for us because our daughter has allergies. Our waiter, Jessica, was fantastic and very supportive. Overall, we loved all the staff—everyone was so kind and attentive. The food was delicious, with options for meat, chicken, fish, and even vegetarian dishes. We also went kayaking and had so much fun—our kids absolutely loved it!
Transfer from Hanoi is quite pricey and not mentioned anywhere on Booking.com Drinks are not included and they're about 2x-3x compared to Hotels, Bars around.

We did a 2 day 1 night trip with Doris Cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The pickup with the limousine bus was smooth and the bus was indeed comfortable. We were then transferred to the cruise via a tender boat. The main boat itself was lovely. Clean, spacious and had a great ambience. The service provided by the staff was deserving of high praise. Jessica, Nicky and the rest of the team do go all out to make our stay a memorable one. The views of Halong Bay rendered us speechless. This should really be on your bucket list. It is also really worth waking up early in the morning before the sun rises just to soak in the view. The food was nice - we had a full course meal for lunch and a buffet BBQ dinner. Breakfast and lunch were buffet style as well. All rather pleasant. There were lots of activities which I think is pretty standard no matter which cruise line you choose. We had kayaking and swimming the first day. Be aware that the currents can be quite strong and can go unnoticed as it looked calm from the surface. We loved the sunset party where there were happy hour drinks (pretty reasonable prices). Snacks were provided and this was a hit (absolutely loved the warm sweet/salty peanuts, cream puffs, prawn crackers and fruits). The squid fishing was just a little bit of a show as I don’t think there were any chance we were going to catch squids. The morning adventure to the caves via locally rowed boats were another chance to soak in the view from up close. A good trip all round and if you were to head to Halong Bay (and you should), do give Doris cruise a try.

Wonderful staff, wonderful views of ha long and lan ha bay being able to swim and kaywak in the surrounds was great. The itinerary was relaxed yet varied enough to accommodate our group which was elderly grandparents, my wife and I, and 3 year old and 10 month old. We didn't feel like we were missing out on anything, and appreciated the organization from all staff The food was generous, delicious and enjoyed by all, presented really well. was well fed during the whole trip. Also the company was always available via email before the trip and was easy to ask questions and book transfers.
* The ship is generally very clean but a Deeper clean of bathroom which had some dried speckley spots near the shower would be nice. * we had a tv in the room but can't watch anything on it. Either remove it and embrace the fully disconnected nature or add some content we can access . *The staff knew we had 2 children staying with us, one needing a baby chair for dinner and one needing a cushion for meals. When the room was serviced we had to request extra towels for them, drinking water to be refilled etc afterwards, and during meals ask for the cushions and baby chair until the last meal when it was set up perfectly which we really appreciated.

The cruise was lovely. I think a one night stay is adequate and the crew were without question the highlight of our experience! Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had an excellent anniversary experience!!
The ship needs a major refresh. It’s clean and tidy but new curtains are a must along with new paint. I also think they need to get rid of the round bed and put a proper king bed in the suite. The stops at Viet Hai and the “caves” were definitely not worth it. Because we paid $850 US for what amounts to 2 days/2 nights—I didn’t feel it was a good value. Like I said, the cruise of HaLong Bay is definitely worth it but going for 1 night is more than adequate.

Views from room were amazing. Decent variety of food and activities were well organised. Staff were particularly lovely and always willing to help, thank you Jaytee for looking after us :)
We got a massage on the cruise, and wish the room was warmer given how cold it was this time of the year. It would be nice if tissues and were included in each room as well. Wifi is poor (we had better luck with data) but we were informed of this at the start.

The boat was lovely and very nice rooms with small balcony that had a table and 2 chairs. Great sized bathroom with a tub and floor to ceiling windows. It was very very hot during our stay and too hot to sit on the balcony sadly. The food options I thought were very good and SO much food offered. The staff were very friendly especially our main host/waiter Brian and lots of activities on offer. Absolutely do the 2 night 3 day. I honestly would not bother doing shorter.
We did the 2 night 3 day cruise and a smaller boat picked you up and took you to the larger boat. The large boat didn’t move around all that much and when you did the day trip off the cruise to the village a smaller boat again picked you up and these journeys were about an hour. I personally just wanted to be on the cruise boat the entire time. The pool/spa was a great addition however the water is quite warm which is fine if travelling during cooler times however it was very very hot when we were travelling so the water did not cool us down. No lounge umbrellas either so you got no shade. I understand umbrellas to be unsafe when windy but air was still during our stay so umbrella would have be fine not to blow over. As it was as hot as it was you really could not be outdoors until sunset.
