Beautiful, comfortable room with a nice view! I stayed here for 5 nights towards the end of a long 3 week trip in Vietnam and it was the perfect place to rest while still getting a chance to join tours and go sightseeing. Location was a little out of the way for tour pickup but I had no issues with asking them to make an exception because the hotel was still so close to the city center. And since it was out of the way, it was nice and quiet in the evenings. I also appreciated that the hotel overall was actually fairly small, and the building has some old charm to it. But aside from the room being a little sanctuary to recoup before continuing to travel for another 3 weeks, the shining star of my stay was the lovely staff! They are so kind, and made an effort to recognize and get to know their guests. They were very helpful about making calls when I ran into miscellaneous issues - my Grab driver not ending my ride before driving away, my hotel in Sapa not responding about transportation from the train station. They also let me store my main luggage with them for a few days while I took a quick trip to Sapa before returning to stay with them for one last night.

Just like in the photos and even better in person. Staff was very welcoming, kind and attentive. We arrived earlier than check in time and they stored our luggage so that we could go explore the lovely French quarter neighborhood (highly recommend Luk Lak restaurant for lunch). Our room was really nice, spacious and clean. The seating area with floor to ceiling windows brightened up the room and also made it feel bigger. The bed was one the most comfortable from our two weeks in Vietnam. Loved the deep bathtub and fresh smelling toiletries, the fluffy bathrobes were a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent, many choices of local and western food. Fresh fruit, pastries and cooked to order eggs were appreciated. The best hotel out of our two time stay in Hanoi, highly recommend it for the great service and wonderful property.

We initially planned to stay for just two nights, but after seeing our room, we immediately decided to extend our stay for another night. The hotel is stunning, with a beautiful French aesthetic and colonial design. The staff is incredible and very attentive. One young man (unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name) was especially helpful - he assisted with reception and luggage and went out of his way to ensure we stayed in the same room, even though the hotel was fully booked. The breakfast is varied and delicious, and the location is perfect - peaceful yet right in the heart of the city, away from the noise. We also loved the complimentary herbal bath, as well as the steam and sauna rooms. The hotel features a lovely sky bar with a complimentary drink, and fresh fruit was delivered to our room every day! 💛 - The only minor downside - the handheld showerhead was a bit short, and although the overhead shower worked, the water pressure was a little weak - it’s the one thing that could be improved. Spoiler: After our trip to Sapa, we returned to this hotel for another night.

We have stayed at this hotel twice and loved everything about it. It's a charming boutique hotel with beautifully appointed rooms. We highly recommend it as a peaceful haven in the French Quarter after a day exploring busy Hanoi. The restaurant serves delicious food but the best thing of all is the hotel's amazing staff. They go above and beyond to be helpful and made us feel very welcome. For example, while in Sapa we had difficulty in obtaining suitable transportation back to Hanoi. We called the Hotel de Syloia and they arranged everything for us in no time!

Very good and we enjoyed our stay . Staff at front desk were very helpful and attentive to our needs .. very good service . I would definitely stay again at this property on my next visit.

We were not informed that the aircon was not working and upon inquiring as to why , we were told that t during the winter only the heater works and if necessary we can use the room fan . Unfortunately, upon using the fan it was very noisy and it was only circulating the hot air inside.

I absolutely adored my experience at De Syloia. The hotel's location, room quality, and services all exceeded my expectations. It has a unique character and a soulful ambiance that beautifully mirrors the charm of Hanoi and Nordic design sensibilities. Kinda a perfect fusion of these two distinct styles. What else struck me was the attention to detail evident in every corner of the room. The lighting, the bathroom, the window and the super comfy bed. It's not just a place to stay to me, but also a cherished memory while in Hanoi. Either for business or for leisure, the place blends professionalism and a sense of nostalgia, I would say, making it a good choice for anyone seeking a pleasant and memorable place in Hanoi.

beautiful decor , amazing bed , clean starched spotless linen,subtle colours and tasteful interior designing . dark wooden flooring with tile design is added beauty . bathroom is spacious with jacuzzi tub and separate shower . lot of cupboard space .big French windows , ample sunlight . powerful air con . and fresh fruit basket everyday . wholesome breakfast with pho,eggs,seafood , bacon fried rice/noodles etc , cappuccino too. can’t fault at anything . good quality toiletries .this hotel is a gem . suite rooms are so tastefully designed and spacious for family that it will give other hotels run for their money . hotel staff is also very helpful and pleasant . overall exceeded expectations . hotel on busy street in old quarters walking distance to opera house and quite a lot of options for Japanese food and small marts ,salons etc . they also have small in room dining menu for international guests palate .

Great location, lovely walk by lake to old quarter or grab a taxi! Great choices for breakfast and brilliant coffees made to order! Staff exceptional! Room very clean, spacious and quiet. Gym overlooking the street. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby

Fantastic stay! The rooms were incredibly comfortable and clean. The staff at this hotel were lovely as well. The location is in a slightly quieter area near the old quarter, which we enjoyed. I would recommend staying here to anyone travelling to Hanoi!
