Lantern Hotel is easily one of the best hotels I stayed in during my trip to Vietnam. The location is fantastic, situated on a main road, which is especially convenient if you need to be picked up by a bus or taxi—they can easily find the hotel. The hotel truly feels like a hidden gem. It's a 10-minute walk to Ben Thanh Market, with many nearby restaurants and two Circle K minimarts for convenience. For the affordable price, I received incredible value. Although my room didn’t have a window, it didn’t diminish the overall experience. The room wasn’t large, but it was perfectly adequate for sleeping and showering, which is all I needed. The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioner worked perfectly, providing a restful and cool refuge after exploring the city. There’s even free drinks provided in the lobby—a thoughtful touch! The hotel staff were extremely friendly, kind, and helpful. What impressed me the most was the reception staff’s ability to speak fluent Japanese, which was unexpected and highly appreciated. A truly memorable moment was when the male staff handed me a birthday card when I checked out early in the morning, after learning that I was about to celebrate my birthday. Their attention to detail and kindness was absolutely extraordinary. I checked out at 4:00 AM for an early flight, and I was delighted to find that the reception operates 24 hours, making the checkout process quick and smooth. Lantern Hotel offers an unbeatable combination of value, convenience, and warm hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ho Chi Minh City. - The staff is absolutely amazing. They go far and beyond their role to make sure the guests are happy. We booked another stay at Lantern few days later because of them. A special regard to Diem on the front desk very professional and thoughtful. - Location is very convenient with a parc cross the street and walking distance from main sites. - The lobby has complementary delicious ice tea coffee and water all day long - Rooms are absolutely clean and beds comfortable

The only downside was some noise as I got the last available room on the roof since the hotel was full for holidays. But the rest was excellent so it was fine

Great location, very friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to help us. Water and cans of coke in the room, replaced daily, for free. Coffee and other drinks available for free in reception. Free laundry every day - contrary to other reviews this doesn’t need to be in reception by 8, but left in the laundry basket and the room cleaners collect it when they clean the room. Laundry came back clean and dry by mid afternoon. Great service!

Bed was very hard, not a problem for us but I’m sure some wouldn’t like it. No safe in room

Great location. Everyday laundry plus everyday new cola, water in refrigarator. Extraordinarly gentle Staff. Support with transport from/to airport. Aircondition in the room. Nice bathroom.. Big room. Plenty nice coffee places around. Big square in front od hotel with air-gym Shops. Restaurants...excellent eggcoffee 25m from hotel. In my opinion 8.5 -8.7 would be proper value.

Little noise from street during night.... Unfortunately good location means big traffic near hotel. And additionally sounds are growing between wall of hotel and wall of near building .

Great location opposite Saigon Central Park, about 10 minutes walk to Ben Than Market and pretty much in the centre of what used to be called Saigon. The reception staff are incredibly friendly and will rush to open the door or call the elevator for you. Laundry is free, drop it at reception by 8.00am and they'll deliver it back to your room that afternoon / evening. They supply 2 bottles of water and 2 cans of coke to the room each day, another nice touch.

The shower door didnt seal properly so water would flood over the bathroom floor, not a major issue once you're aware of it but my wifes' clothes got soaked on the first night.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location was excellent, making it easy to explore the area. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which added to the positive experience. The room was a bit dated and the bed was on the firmer side, but I still slept well. Despite being in a central area, there was no noise from the street, which was a big plus. Overall, everything was fine, though I did find the price a bit on the higher side.

PERFECT budget stay with all the amenities & ever-friendly staff in the city centre of Ho Chi Minh/Saigon..!! Location: Walkable distance to Independence Palace, Fine Art Museum, Ben Thanh Market, Bui Vien street & all other major attractions. This is a park facing hotel & there are lot of eateries as well as cafe’s on the other side of the park. Hotel: Spacious rooms with complementary water bottles, mango candy pack, toothbrush, razor, shower cap etc + free laundry service. Staff: Extremely polite & guest friendy staff. The front office took good care of our luggage as we had arrived few hours earlier than our check in time. Complementary detox water, tap water, candies & fruit juice(at specific time in the day) is offerred to all the guests.

Loved our stay here. The staff are amazing was so good we came back again at the end of our trip. Rooms are good quality, beds firm and rooms always clean every day with good quality linen and towels. Good products are provided in bathroom. Lovely fresh drinks each day plus in our fridge. Staff were helpful and super friendly, even making a lovey birthday card for our son. It’s a busy location with great big park opposite and a couple of nice cafes a few doors down - eg Leelai cafe. Easy to get around from here to anything on foot or grab.
