We stayed at the smaller bungalows for 2 nights before taking the Wings 3D2N Ha Giang Loop tour with Easy Riders (which we booked through Sky Bay once we arrived), and then we stayed at the larger bungalows for 3 nights to recover. Despite the cold, we had an absolutely fantastic time. The tour was excellent, we felt safe and well looked after (if you do go in cold weather though, don’t underestimate it as homestays don’t have heating- pack lots of layers and bring a sleeping bag if you have one!). Throughout our tour and stay, the staff at Sky Bay made us feel like part of the family, it was a special week that we’ll always remember. I could go on and on!

This isn’t a negative because we liked this element of the stay (it was secluded and we wanted to use the time to rest, so we happily had all our meals here since the food was tasty and varied!). But just be mindful that getting into town for meals etc can take time/effort.

Arriving at the property was 'interesting' as we usually book in town. This hotel has been built in a beautiful rural area on the edge of town, and has running stream alongside, and is ringed by low hills. Really a very peaceful location. The rooms are separate stand-alone cabins, and have been very well constructed with good doors and windows, and good window coverings, that really do exclude daylight (this is something often sub-standard in small hotels - decent curtains!) The construction is two years old in 2024, and has no defects.... its a very sound and expensive standard the place was built to, so I expect the hotel will stay fresh for quite some time. There is a pool, but we did not use it - this pool is designed as a child-friendly pool - full marks ! The dining area is a fully-roofed outside area, although there is an indoor area we didn't use. Kitchen produced good meals, and we were served by family members who did a great job. The bathroom in our cabin was fantastic - stylish, functional and large.... I REALLY APPRECIATED THE DESIGN THOUGHT THAT HAD GONE INTO THIS HOTEL, AND THE HIGH ATTENTION TO DETAILS. Thus is a family owned operation, and everyone was truly friendly and helpful.

There is really nothing I can point to .... a few mosquitos maybe, but that's expected.

the retreat is situated in such an incredibly peaceful and gorgeous surrounding. i very much enjoyed walking along the serene roads through the rice fields as well as my lovely communications with the villagers along the way. the room was amazing… beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. the pool and the bathtub were both heavenly. The staff was absolutely wonderful!!! i highly recommend ordering the fish! i watched them catch it out of the pond and the presentation of my meal was so beautiful.. and so delicious! the 3 day private motorbike ha giang tour i booked through them was phenomenal!!! the guide was a wealth of informationt and a very safe driver …he took me on routes where we were able to avoid big groups of tourists. the accommodation on the second night and food throughout the trip was absolutely incredible!

The room are nice, big and clean. Nice view on the ricefields. The bungalows are cute and well maintained. Staff is helpful, kind, available and very proactive. Winnie and her family was very kind to us .the food of the restaurant is delicious. It is a perfect stay before and after doing the Ha Giang Loop that we also booked via Sky Bay (did 4 days 3 nights and was incredible)

Some annoying misunderstandings about the booking of bus tickets and we also booked a better ( more expensive) room for our night after the loop and they put us in a regular room. I had to request the good room, which is never pleasant to do. The outside terrace to take breakfast is not pleasant and not very clean. There is room for improvement but i am sure the very entrepeneur spirit of this family will make this happen.

The room and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. The accommodation is located 6 km from Ha Giang and a cab will cost you 130 to 140 dong to get out there. It is located in a very quiet , beautiful relaxing location. The food at the home stay was very reasonably priced and delicious especially the pork spring rolls. Lastly the family were very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast not included in room price like other accommodation in this price range.

Very well maintained the pool is great the owners are very accommodating . U should defiantly stay there

Nothing , was best on the loop

The place was exceptionally clean, beds were comfortable and big, bathroom was amazing. It was intimate and such a lovely feel to the place. Prior arriving in Vietnam, there was great communication via WhatsApp, arranged us to hire bikes for our trip and gave us peace of mind. Was always helpful and friendly. Couldn’t do enough to help and arranged our sleeper bus back and forth from airport to Hanoi. We would 1000% go back here purely due to the welcome from the family (food was amazing) can’t thank you all enough for being warm and welcoming :)

Beautiful rooms and bathroom and views. Wife loved the bath (although with the window open everyone can see you 😬) Staff very friendly and attentive. Nice family run business.

Bed mattress too hard for our liking so didn’t get a good sleep and very squeaky wooden slats, every time you moved when sleeping. Western food menu offered to us was bland, didn’t realise there was a Vietnamese menu which we would have preferred. Only worked out when Vietnamese lady next table had an amazing dinner that was not on offer in the Western provided menus.

Absolutely loved Sky Bay! Such a stunning location with a tranquil and relaxing vibe, stunning rooms and bathrooms, lovely pool, lovely staff and tasty food in the restaurant - the staff were s helpful with all of our strange requests and helped us organise transport/motorbike rental etc - they were honestly fantastic. It's a family run business and the family are all so nice - I couldn't thank them enough! Also the rooms were just beautiful.

Great place to relax and unwind - or work for that matter! I stayed in one of the suites and it was gorgeous! The whole property is stunning and quite fun to explore the surrounding area. It's a bit secluded, so if you don't have a scooter it would be worth arranging a bicycle for the duration of your stay. The family is lovely and very accommodating.
