I did not want to leave and will definitely be returning in the near future. We stayed in one of the large beachfront pool villas using two bedrooms although there is also an upstairs bedroom available for a larger group. I was massive and one of the most beautiful places imaginable. The photos on the site are absolutely accurate. Next time we will bring more friend and use the entire villa. The staff are absolutely amazing, from the personal butler (Mr Hung and Ms Quyen were fabulous) to every member of the bar and restaurant staff and all the cleaning and ground staff, so friendly and cheerful at all times. The spa treatments are a must!

Not a thing

Loved the vibe of the resort, very relaxing and truly a retreat experience. The staff was attentive and welcoming. My butler Ngan was very helpful and accommodating, giving advices on the resort and our transportation arrangement etc. The room is extremely spacious and comfortable with relatively new facilities.

+ The transporting boat (from lounge to resort) can be renovated or even upgraded to a bigger one as it was shaky some time. This should really be considered as part of resort’s facilities and your overall “experience”. I’d seriously consider this especially if traveling with elderly/children. + Food menu is acceptable in terms of pricing but can add a bit more of variety.

Absolutely wonderful.  Great spacious and airy rooms, a wonderful patio to observe the waves and the sea, and a nice pool to dip into. The team, restaurants, and walks near the beach, waterfalls, and forest were all lovely. A special shout out and thanks to the overall team, particularly Bao, Bao's brother, and Mrs Moon, who went above and beyond to accommodate us and provide us with great humble service and cultural insights. Professional, kind, and warm spirited. Thanks as well to the chef, muscians, and entire restaurant and management team who helped to prepare a special Christmas and birthday. A magical place that blends natural elements with luxury, local taste, and influence. Thanks so much for such a wonderful stay.

We (2 people) booked an ocean view villa and stayed for 5 days in November 2024. Our stay was excellent although it was off season. The resort is located in a very picturesque, calm place among the jungles. It is the main feature of it to be far from the civilization, enjoy the nature and reconnect with the body and mind. ACCOMMODATION The villa was very spacious and clean. Twice a day our water bottles were refilled and the rooms were cleaned. At around 3-4pm our battler brought us some fruits and cakes (small detail but it was very pleasant). The swimming pool was also very well maintained. We didn’t have any mosquitoes. FOOD Food was really great! As we stayed for 5 days we tried different dishes for the dinner. Yes, prices are higher than in Nha Trang, but not so expensive as I read in other reviews. All dishes we tried were delicious, portions were also big. On average for a dinner of two appetizers, two main dishes, 2 beers and 1 bottle of water, we paid around 50-60 Euros. Breakfast was also very good! Different options of Vietnamese food and western cuisine as well. RESORT STUFF All people we met there were extremely polite, welcoming and respectful. We had a very warm greeting by a lady Thuy at the airport. The rest 5 days we were assisted by Thom and Huong - amazing ladies were always in touch with us! BEACH I love swimming and snorkeling. In some reviews people complained about the short and rocky beach line. Yes, there are some big stones in the sea which don’t bother at all and yes, the coast line is short. But it is more than enough to go for a swim and enjoy the sea. The water in November wasn’t clear because of the rains therefore I didn’t try snorkeling, can’t say anything about this activity there. YOGA AND MEDITATION The resort has a perfect Yoga Saal, under the roof with an amazing sea view. I did yoga there every day.

I would suggest only to renew or do a deep cleaning of the white mattresses on the Terrasse (white couch). We noticed a few brown sports there (probably from coffee or tea).

We had a fantastic stay. Huong was an amazing host and we had the most relaxing time which was exactly what we needed. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make our stay as memorable as possible. The food at the restaurant was delicious and we loved the view from our tree top villa.

The steps to our tree top villa got very slippery in the rain. It would also have been nice if the rubbish on the side of the road along the walk along the bay heading south east was cleaned up.

Everything was exceptional. The people so gentle and kind. The place is beautiful and super spacious, super comfortable. We were a bit unlucky with the weather as it rained the 2 days we spent there (they called it storm but it was just rain) but it was still amazing to be there in the jungle by the sea, with great warm temperature. Perfect place to listen to the rain and really rest and relax. Our room had a swimming pool and view to the bay through the jungle, which was stunning.

There weren’t much activities to do when it rained, but still it was amazing to relax at the room.

This is a high quality (and high price) resort where you are completely isolated and safe. Staff are all friendly and the food is excellent and so are all services in general. Our room was very spacious and we had a beautiful view. We had a personal butler and she was fantastic.

This is not a place for the elderly or for ones with a health condition. Our room was a stiff climb up 60 steps and this was an improvement on the first choice at 90 steps. Also, the only way to get to the place is by boat, even if it is not on an island and the climb in an out of the boat is not easy, at all. Frankly, they should state that much more clearly on the website. OK, our room was called "treetops" but we did not realise we had to take this very literally. Another thing to bear in mind is that the ONLY thing to do is to do... almost nothing except relax and maybe swim.

The surroundings and architecture of Am Lam Retreat are beautiful. We were kindly given a free upgrade to a room on the beach front - the rooms are very spacious and clean and the atmosphere of the retreat is incredibly relaxing. The hotel offers multiple days out for various activities (at a high price though) and offer the free day trip to Nha Trang which is great if you want to see some of the attractions in the city. Not only does the hotel have the 5 star facilities, but the jungle style and wonderful staff make it such a more enjoyable experience - a shout out to Kim our butler who was very attentive, polite anecdote smiley :) We would absolutely recommend this hotel - it is the best we have ever been to!

The retreat allows you to venture away from the hotel a little and we noticed quite a bit of rubbish and plastic on these more remote sections of the retreat. The staff take good care of the immediate area and to make this hotel better they should spend time cleaning the entire resort.

The staff were all so welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had an amazing Bulter called Bao who we cannot say enough good things about, he really made our stay. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were overall clean. The facilities were great and we really enjoyed our ocean view villa with pool. The views and scenery are fantastic. The spa was very good and relaxing. Bonus the have cute pet dogs.

It didn’t bother us as given the location this is to be expected but there are ants everywhere (even in the bed). Thankfully house keeping comes twice a day and bug spray is provided. The lunch/dinner menu could include more diversity.

Problems with checking in another guest meant we were kept waiting at the transfer jetty where we were cold & the delay wasn’t explained. Problems with the other guests credit card could have been resolved once we arrived at the hotel saving them embarrassment & us all time
