Location was great. Right around the corner from the Big Blue Bus. Took it to Santa Monica Pier for a great evening. Just plan ahead as they shut the bus down at 8pm and you have to find an alternate way home, or bri g your walking shoes for an adventurous walk home. Beds were comfy for a goods night rest. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Trying to find a cheaper hotel for a large family led us to this hotel. Keep in mind they have shared bathrooms so it is a little different. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, just a ceiling fan and a window you can open. We had 3 rooms on the ground level, but being on the ground level we did not want to keep the windows open as anyone could come on in. Would I stay again, sure, maybe just not with kids.

I had a 9-night stay at Ocean Park Hotel and everything was very good. The room was clean, the bathroom even though it was shared was very clean, honestly I didn't expect it. The hotel location is in a very quiet area, a neighborhood with houses. Bus 8 that connects to Venice Beach or other areas near the hotel is 2 minutes away. Use the Metro app for buses. The hotel has a large parking lot. Very good wifi. I highly recommend it, if I were to come back, 100% I would stay here again. 🤗👍

The only minus and only as advice for the hotel, would be to arrange the outside area with tables. I'm waiting to see the return of the guarantee in 5 days because the room was not inspected upon handover. As a tip, this should be done in the presence of the staff. I hope that with how good everything was, there will be no problem.

This little hotel is wonderful, the staff is accommodating, the rooms are very clean and there is laundry on-site. You can't beat the price for staying in Santa Monica in a safe location with lots of food and coffee options just a few blocks away. I have stayed here for business over 40 days per year, I call it my home away from home. Most rooms have refrigerators and microwaves, and Trader Joe's is a short walk away. Some travelers may not like the shared bathrooms, these are very common in Europe. Each floor has its own ladies and gents bathroom with 2 shower stalls and 2 toilet stalls in each, and each hotel room has a sink for easy washing up. That's not a big trade off for the value and location of the hotel.

The property is a bit old and the some furnishings a bit worn, but the cleaning staff keeps the place clean.

Excellent location: nice neighborhood, right on the bus line to the beach and other interesting locations. The facilities were clean. The hallways were decorated very nicely. Good fridge. Sink in room. Nice staff.

Our room had nowhere to hang anything, like a wet towel or a swimsuit. I think it would be an easy fix to put a couple of hooks up. Also, the shared bathroom had frosted shower stall doors, but you could still see plenty. I don't like people watching me shower. Otherwise the shared bathrooms were fine and never seemed too crowded.

The price helped me tolerate parts I didn't like; the staff listened to me and welcomed me. Their free parking was adequate, my bed was comfortable, and the public spaces were clean. I appreciated their complementary face washing cloths and the sink and refrigerator in my room. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood and was near a Trader Joe's and other conveniences.

However, there were several things I didn't like, such as the carpet leaving dark marks on the washcloth I used to clean up a bit of yogurt I dropped. While everything there seemed clean, that was more than creepy, and I didn't like walking down a hall in the middle of the night to use a community-by-gender toilet/shower room.

Nice, low key stay

I missed there being anyone in the office when I checked out. Has a hard time closing the window. Had to remove the screen to grab it. Would be nice if the showers included a changing area.

Was very surprised about this place, one of the cheapest around for the price it’s outstanding! The beds were very comfortable, WiFi worked very well. Couldn’t hear any noise from outside. Shared bathrooms were very nice always so clean and hot powerful shower. Sink in the room was helpful too. Location was perfect just outside the bus stop, very easy to get to the beach or into LA. Staff very friendly would deffo stay again!

For the price, it was a decent place in an otherwise costly area. It had a sink, refrigerator, and a dresser. The bed was comfortable, and the shared bathrooms were clean. Because I prefer to drink coffee first thing in the morning with a nutritious breakfast, I brought my small coffee maker and mug, then bought coffee and small filters, bottled water, almond milk, bananas, blueberries, and Greek yogurt at the nearby Trader Joe's, stored some in the refrigerator and had all I needed to have a healthy breakfast each day of my trip.

The carpet looked okay but was grungy enough that it left dirt on the washcloth I used to clean up yogurt, which I accidentally dropped on the floor. Management locks the front door when they go late at night. Although I had double locks on my hotel door and the room felt safe, as an older woman, I found walking to the women's bathroom during off hours a bit scary.

The motel is clean and attractively decorated, and their staff was equally delightful. The room had a two-drawer cabinet that reduced clutter and a small but roomy refrigerator that let me stock up on treats from Trader Joe's (located a few blocks from the motel). I need Java, so I had it by bringing my travel-sized coffee maker, coffee, and bottled water. They locked the front doors in the evening, and I felt safe during my visit. They also have free parking adjacent to the motel.

Although I prefer having a private restroom and complementary coffee in my room, the low prices more than compensated for the inconvenience. The shared bathrooms are clean and have soap and shampoo dispensers.

It was quiet, clean and in a great location. I was glad there was a fridge, too. Although generally spartan, I thought the towels were particularly thick and good. Overall, it was like a really great dorm room that you would have fought to get if/when you were in college. Lots of free parking in their lot, and very convenient to public transportation. Restaurants and shops, even a Trader Joes's in walking distance. Nice, safe neighborhood. Large clean sink in the room.

IMPORTANT: NO PRIVATE BATHROOMS. Each floor has good sized men's and women's bathrooms. There were kept clean and fully functional at all times. There was no closet, but there was a good rack with excellent hangars. No rug or carpet, but very clean floor. The bed was exceptionally squeaky if you didn't sleep in the middle. Slight sulphur smell to the water sometimes.
