Great hotel, central to old town Berat, walking distance to all attractions, and easily accessible with parking in front of the street. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.

We found that the riverside view apartment did let in a lot of noise from the street, there are some loud music playing every night, and loud cars from the road below. Luckily, the staff could give us another room at the back, which was not river facing, which was way quieter.

We loved EVERYTHING here. This was a true gem, outstanding value for money, a completely charming location and building and the staff were friendly welcoming and so so helpful. We were helped with all our luggage up all the flights of stairs (as we were injured) and we were helped so well with parking too - something very rare in Berat! The food was simple, traditional and homely and we were given a prime spot on their balcony with a great view. The breakfast is typical - the BEST Albanian fried dough (Petulla) we had in the whole of Albania.

Really great location in Mangalem with lovely views across the river. Very characterful and we enjoyed staying in a traditional house in the old town. Breakfast was simple but the coffee was strong and the homemade petulla (doughnuts) were fresh. The orange juice was some of the best we had even compared to some much more expensive hotels. Really reasonably priced room with a lovely big shady balcony.

We stayed 2 nights but our room was not cleaned or serviced after our first night - maybe because it is a more budget priced hotel. It didn’t matter that much to us though.

They were always ready with a smile, eager to assist with anything we needed, and even provided great recommendations for exploring Berat. Their genuine hospitality made us feel at home. One of the highlights was the delicious breakfast served each morning. Fresh, local ingredients, a variety of options, and a cozy setting made it the perfect way to start the day. The location is unbeatable – within walking distance of Berat’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, the Castle, and some fantastic restaurants and cafés. It’s the ideal spot for those looking to soak in the beauty and history of this magical city. Overall, Hotel Beratino exceeded our expectations in every way. Beautiful location right in the center. Friendly staff. Room looks like you are staying in a castle. Cold bottles of water were waiting for us in the fridge upon arrival.

Took a few rounds to find a parking spot. We then had to walk about 200m to the hotel. There is no elevator at the hotel, so we had to carry the luggage up the stairs. When we were in the breakfast room 15 minutes after breakfast was originally supposed to start, there was no staff in sight. Took a couple of minutes for someone to show up and start bringing the breakfast out. There was no bread at breakfast, just some kind of fried dough balls.

Fabulous room in quaint stone building. Lovely good quality furnishings and linen felt luxurious. Exactly like photos. Very central, easy walking to everything - including up the hills :) Host was really friendly and very responsive, lovely to have a chat to. Breakfast was good, could choose different options for eggs, each day had a different local offering. Could occasionally hear road noise (our room was on the main road side) but was not an issue with the insulated windows. We had an issue with our credit card and host helped us sort if out even after we left, thank you! I would stay here again and recommend to others.

I don’t recommend paying by credit card. This is the first accomodation we had offering credit card in Albania so we took the option. The payment stayed in ‘pending’ status for about 7 days which may be a reflection of the banking system in Albania. As a result we had to pay in cash before we left then get our credit card payment reimbursed - which was done quickly so we appreciated the property getting on top of that. Was just a worrisome experience, would absolutely have given a 10 score without this happening. Would suggest taking the credit card option away to avoid further problems. Travellers are (or should be) aware of the usual cash only options in Albania.

This stay at the hotel was made by the friendliness, cheerfulness and helpfulness of the staff, in particular a young girl who seemed to work from morning until night, always cheerful, helpful and hard working. We were also grateful to the young lad who carried our cases up to our room. The room was lovely, very tastefully designed a good size, clean and well equipped, with a good sized bathroom and shower.. It had a good view from the balcony over the river and across to the old houses on the other side. The hotel was well situated down , part of the old town, with parking outside on the street.

The hotel was in the centre of the old town. There is no car access to the old town and you have to walk from the main road to the hotel which involves barking on the main road and walking up the historic footpath to the hotel. Fortunately, there is a lot of parking on the main road and the hotel is quite close to the road so carrying bags / suitcases isn't to difficult but may cause problems for the elderly or infirm but that is the nature of an historic hotel in an historic town. The room was modern and well appointed but had old world features that gave it character. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Staying in this hotel was a nice experience. I usually do not like traditional hotels that much, but this one was an exception, it was a very good mix of old and modern elements. The room we had was spacious and we had a nice balcony (it was too hot to sit there though) with a view. When we arrived we learnt that their parking places were already taken, so we unloaded the car and my husband found a place about 300 metres from the hotel, which was fine for us. Meanwhile the hotel staff carried our luggage up the stairs to our room, The AC worked very well (and we really needed that!). Location of the hotel is amazing. Such a lovely idea to stay in one of those old houses!

One small minus: breakfast. Maybe a matter of taste, but we did not really like the fried stuff; would rather have had some bread instead, or some yoghurt.
